Taurus - Full Moon Meditation
«I see and when the eye is opened all is enlightened.»
(April 21 - May 20)
Introduction
This full moon meditation series is inspired by the astrological interpretation of Hercules' twelve labors from Greek mythology. Each task represents symbolic lessons guiding us from selfishness to divine enlightenment. Though we may not fully know the path to higher worlds, the journey itself leads us through experiences that help us grow. From Aries to Taurus and onward through the zodiac, we travel the path until we become one with it. In Taurus, the light of the full moon sets the tone for this journey. First, there’s a premonition, followed by certainty, as we come to recognize the same light in all beings, ultimately seeing the light of God everywhere.
Abstract
In Taurus, the second sign of the astrological cycle, Hercules is called by his inner light to face his next task: to cross the island in search of the bull, lead it to the Holy Place where the one-eyed men dwell. After a partial failure in Aries, Hercules sets out to capture the bull that Minos, King of Crete, wishes to sacrifice. Guided by the shining star upon the bull’s forehead, Hercules perseveres through pain and challenges to capture the bull and ride it across the glimmering waters to the island of Crete, escorted by the Seven Sisters. He ultimately fulfills his task and delivers the sacred bull to the Holy Place.
Explanation
The upward horns of Taurus symbolize a bowl containing hidden lights—a labyrinth of qualities within our selfish personalities. These qualities must be transformed for the "one eye" to project its light. The "third eye," located between the physical eyebrows, is a symbol of the Ajna center in the etheric body. When the heart’s light illuminates and the third eye is opened, all is enlightened. As we journey through the zodiac signs, this light must shine brighter until it radiates. The temple in the story represents the heavens, where the bull must be rescued, and the Cyclops symbolize the stars in Taurus. "Riding the bull" means overcoming desires and learning to control them like a charioteer.
Each sign of the zodiac imparts specific energies and lessons. By learning from our mistakes, we gain the power to master creativity, mental clarity, and emotional stability. Ultimately, the goal is to nurture the inner light and align with our divine nature. "Riding the bull" (managing desires) is essential for happiness and success as we progress on our spiritual journey.

«I see and when the eye is opened all is enlightened.»

I am a point of light within a greater light.
I am a strand of loving energy within the stream of divine love.
I am a point of sacrificial fire, focused within the fiery will of God.
And thus I stand.
- Sing OM three times.
- Recite three times:
May all living beings in all worlds be happy.
- Sit in silence for three minutes, then conclude with:
