Gemini Full Moon Meditation
"I recognize my other self, and as this fades, I grow and glow."
(Gemini: May 21 - June 20)
Introduction
This meditation draws upon astrological insights inspired by the twelve labors of Hercules from Greek mythology. These tasks symbolize humanity’s journey from selfishness to divine unity, guiding us back to the Heart of God. While we may not fully know the way to higher realms, the path itself leads us through transformative experiences.
From Aries to Taurus and Gemini, we progress through all the zodiac signs toward enlightenment. In Gemini, active work becomes the key. Premonition evolves into certainty, and daily effort reveals the divine light everywhere—built upon the mental discipline of Aries and the taming of desire in Taurus.
Abstract
In Gemini, represented by the Twins, Hercules takes on the next labor:
"Seek the sacred tree and gather the golden apples of the Hesperides. Search without discouragement, deception, or haste. Perseverance is key."
The task seems simple, but challenges abound. The garden is guarded by a hundred-headed dragon and three maidens. Hercules searches far and wide, yet fails repeatedly, deaf to his inner voice and blind to signs along the way. He battles Antaeus, the serpent of darkness, and learns to lift it off the ground, gaining strength to continue.
Through trials and lessons—including entrapment by Busiris, the deceiver, and the freeing of Prometheus—Hercules grows wiser. Along the way, he meets Atlas, burdened by the weight of the world, and helps shoulder his load. In return, Atlas gives him the golden apples, teaching Hercules that love and service mark the true path.
The three sisters, Aegle, Erythea, and Hesperis, affirm:
"The Way to us is always marked by service. Acts of love are signposts on the path."
Hercules returns the apples for those who follow, completing his task.
Explanation
Gemini’s symbol—a pair of pillars joined by a half-moon arch—represents the lower self (body, emotions, mind) and the higher self (atma-buddhi-manas). The duality of opposites is central to this sign, with the higher self-striving upward and the form-bound nature pulling downward.
Hercules faces five tests to claim the fruits of wisdom: Sincerity, Alertness, Persistence, Inner Strength for the search, and Selfless Service to others.
Gemini teaches us to recognize and align with the higher self. Initially, we hear but do not listen, see but remain blind. True understanding comes when assumptions and beliefs transform into knowledge and lived experience. Prometheus symbolizes liberation from mental bondage, while Atlas reflects the willingness to bear responsibility. Together, they guide us toward self-awareness.
Loving compassion and right thinking bridge the lower and higher selves. As the lower nature fades, the higher self grows and grows, fulfilling the keynote of this sign.
Meditation

I am a point of sacrificial fire, focused within the fiery will of God.
And thus I stand. - Chant Three OMs Again
- Bless All Beings: Recite three times:
"May all living beings in all the worlds be happy." - Close in Silence: Remain silent for three minutes, then conclude with:
