In my 52 years of looking at charts, I’ve consistently seen that those with Uranus, Neptune, or Pluto in the first, fourth, seventh, or tenth houses have an extraordinary influence on others whether they mean to or not. If this applies to you, then you’re a transformational agent in your world!

As many of you know, I have Pluto in the first, and so am very well acquainted with “the Lord of the Underworld” as my constant companion, which has been made painfully clear this lifetime. However, it also has provided me with a constant spiritual connection to “the Beyond,” helping me identify with Spirit despite the deep material and emotional changes and losses accompanying Pluto in the Ascendant. I have been forced to go into the depths more times than I can count, often as an agent for others dealing with death or loss.

If you have any of the outer invisible spiritual Triad in an angle, you serve as a transformational agent for others without trying to and without them necessarily knowing what’s happening. Because the influence is that of an invisible transpersonal planet, the influence works invisibly. Because Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are “nothing personal,” it’s not like we are consciously doing anything to transform the other person; it just happens because of the energetic interaction.

Uranus in an angle is a revolutionary influence; Neptune in an angle is a “dissolving and/or merging” influence; Pluto in an angle is purifying and reveals the innermost Being. If we have any of these in any angle, because it’s a transpersonal planet in our chart, WE become the embodiment of that transformative energy beyond individual control whether we know we are or not. Which is also why people with one of these in an angle are misunderstood by others who only see visible things and aren’t connected to their inner life. And sometimes even when they are!

The way it works is that Uranus in our 1st house becomes Uranus operating in “the other’s” 7th. Uranus in our 4th house become the equivalent of Uranus in the other person’s 10th. If we have Uranus in our 7th house, it registers as Uranus in the other person’s 1st. And if we have Uranus in the 10th, it registers as Uranus in the other’s 4th. You can see how each of these would revolutionize others’ interactivity, foundations, self-awareness, and sense of public fulfillment.

You can apply the same principle to Neptune and Pluto in an angle. Anything in our angles becomes an influence in the opposite angle of those we’re with. I find Uranus to be an abrupt influence, Neptune to be a subtle influence, and Pluto to be an explosive influence. In this sense, while I was explosive as a child and very young man, I have transmuted the explosiveness into an ability to hold the pressure calmly in very agitated or perilous circumstances.

Someone with Uranus in an angle awakens others to unique and/or revolutionary views. They go through an immediate impulse to transform an active area of their life, because the angles represent “active” areas where we take the initiative in new realms of life based in the angle of the specific quadrant. So while a person with Uranus in the 10th goes through revolutionary conditions in their profession and public standing from time to time, their partner (for example) will experience that energy as a transformation of foundations, a revolutionzing of their view of their past and early family life, and/or create an ever-new or unique home.

Someone with Neptune in an angle awakens others to their own dream state, or expands their awareness to the greater field of life around others. Hanging out with those with Neptune in an angle is like entering into an ocean where the instant you submerge you are aware of countless life forms and emotional impressions. So continuing the example, someone with Neptune in the 10th might be unclear about who they are in the public eye, they could also become a public icon where others see an ideal from their early life (4th) but not the reality.

Someone with Pluto in an angle is a catalyst for purification. They go through constant self-purification experiences, as well as situations where they can spot the seeds of the future, for good or bad, but also become lightning rods for people with unresolved power and survival issues. For example, someone with Pluto in the 4th probably will cut a few roots this lifetime, maybe ending their family line, or leaving the past behind forever. For others who meet someone with Pluto in the 4th, it is the equivalent of experiencing Pluto in their 10th. So they may feel like they’re naked in the public eye, or people can see right through them, or they’ll start seeing the seeds for good or bad in their professional situation.

Of course, none of this exists in a void, and so what affects one angle will surely affect the rest of the chart. If we’re being transformed and purified at the foundation level of our life, it will definitely affect all the other areas represented by the other houses. If we awaken to a new sense of public purpose, being our unique and original Self, it will definitely impact all the other areas of our lives, which in turn will affect others we’re working and playing with, since all of us are part of a larger Life in which we live and breathe.

To anticipate a question, yes, transits will have the same effect, except they represent external conditions which bring these changes to us. A transpersonal planet in an angle in the natal chart makes us the embodiment of these transpersonal energies, whereas the transits show conditions we have to deal with in the outer world. Of course, because “planets are people,” transits can bring people into our lives who embody those planetary energies. It’s why often my clients have major Pluto transit action going on when they find me!

So if you’ve wondered why some very strange things happen, when revolutionary conditions appear in the interactive dance we do with others, remember that some things are invisible drivers of what’s being seen and done in the visible world. Never underestimate that an invisible energy could change your life for the good forever. You just have to be able to read the energies in play and know how to respond from a spiritually productive angle.
