Saturn goes stationary direct at 1 Pisces on November 4. How does this further the 20 year Aquarian sub-era which began at the Grand Mutation at 1 Aquarius in December 2020?

Saturn is resuming its forward motion, and will re-trace ground it covered since it went stationary retrograde in June 2023 at 8 Pisces, launching us into a season of learning how to listen to our “call to renewal,” and allow “tomorrow to summon us today.” 2022’s lessons of learning to “pick up and deliver spiritual power” gave way to new mobilization to “put out a symbolic forest fire” last October which preoccupied our time through February 2023.

Saturn then entered Pisces and its shadow zone, and reached a threshold in June and since then have been preparing for some form of rebirth. We are now “socially spiritualized” and can express our spiritual Self more easily in social situations. We now commence our third experience of the Saturn lessons associated with the span from 1-8 Pisces, which includes the material, emotional, and social levels of the first half of Pisces.

What Have We Learned from Saturn in Pisces in 2023?

To recap, we took our first look at the shadow zone between March 7 and June 17, when it went stationary retrograde at 8 Pisces. Then we got our retrograde look of Saturn in that span of Pisces through now, and at this time begin our third experience of this span which will last until February 13/14, 2024, when it passes out of its current shadow zone on its way to enter its next shadow zone at 13 Pisces on March 17/18.

In June we were introduced to Saturn’s main lessons for 2023 when it occupied its retrograde station. The quickening of Summer and Autumn of 2021 led to a new mastery of spiritual energy in Summer and Autumn 2022. We then had to rise to some occasion and bring something under control so we could move forward into a Transfiguration period in February and early March 2023. All of that helped us learn to manage our physical, emotional-social, and individual spiritual energies.

Since then we’ve been exposed to Saturn sailing the seas enveloped by fogs and mists of collective illusions and ghosts in Pisces. We’ve had to find ways to secure what we value, see the indestructible elements of our Self, learn to navigate “psychic traffic jams” in the collective, and have to whatever degree “mastered discouragement.” We were introduced to a new spiritual dedication in April and May, as well as a need to stand for what we believe in.

Saturn went retrograde on “a girl blowing a bugle” summoning us to forms of rebirth and renewal in June, after which we re-traced all those lessons in the previous paragraph. We now are at a platform from which we renew our journey, this time into the second decan of Pisces, ruled by Jupiter and the Moon with an additional dose of Jupiter.

Now that Saturn’s direct, move forward with confidence that the rehearsals you’ve done between March and now are adequate to your navigational need as you resume your journey into the sea fog of the collective. Having been exposed to the themes of 1 through 8 Pisces twice since March, we now revisit them a third time, and get to show our skill as a result of our practice these past 7 months. We now know who we belong with and our part in “the Federation of Spiritual Workers,” and get to put it into action materially, emotionally, socially, and spiritually in our own individual way.

Aquarius secures what it needs in Pisces. It is what Aquarius draws on to BE Aquarius. This is the time we are learning what to value and how to use it within the larger Aquarius “wave pulse” we all began in 2020. Besides the Aquarian pulses becoming more established by the year, we are still dealing with the long wave Capricorn structural cycles of 2020 in play for years to come. The coming decades are about visions of a greater collective effectiveness with idealism focused on the greatest good for the greatest number for the builders of the future civilization. We can now use our Saturn power to bring forth greater intuition, empathy, and compassion in our social spiritual realms.

This final pass through early Pisces will bring emotional and social resources to the emergent Aquarian sub-era, with the aspects described in that article being the primary energies in play in future months.

Saturn’s Stationary Direct Sabian Symbol

When a planet goes stationary direct, that degree becomes a platform for what happens next, as well as a “hot spot” that gets triggered with each subsequent conjunction to that point. Saturn’s Sabian symbol will therefore dominate the rest of this year as a primary influence in cultivating our authorship of our life and control over circumstances. It will also be a platform that will ground our efforts into 2024, so learn all you can from this energy that has dominated the landscape since early October, and will remain on that degree through November 27.

Of extraordinary importance is that 1 Pisces is “the cusp of the Age,” where the precessional point is at this time in human history. When it will slip into Aquarius is a subject of much dispute, but I am of the opinion that it will occur sometime after 2050 this year. Of course, we’ll still be dealing with the ghosts and echoes of the Age of Pisces for many decades to come. Saturn is now stationary direct at 1 Pisces. The Sabian Symbol for the 1st degree of Pisces is “A public market.” In the original Jones notes published in The Astrology of Personality, Rudhyar says this symbolizes “the social nature of human responsibilities,” “a last moment joyous rallying to a task,” and “seen synthesis at the end of cycles.”

We are told in the Astrological Mandala that this symbolizes “the process of co-mingling and interchange which at all levels demonstrates the health of a community.” He goes on to state that this sector of the zodiac is often associated with a “closing of accounts,” or “a final evaluation of the harvest of the cycle.” It may be a time of reaping rewards, and is a time of a “coming together, in a final experience of community, of all factors previously experienced; this means constructive interaction and an interchange of the products of social activity.”

He continues this symbol “emphasizes that the time has come to take full advantage of the social opportunities to bargain and to trade.” He offers this is about “social interplay and … commerce.” This symbol is said to be in the Span of Innocence, Act of Capitalization, and is the initial degree of the Actional level of the Scene of Federation.

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, says this degree is "a symbol of full maturity in (humanity's) social estate, with an emphasis on the group integrity" facilitating each to develop their special patterns. This degree is about the willingness for each of us to do our part in the larger "common ideals of a community life."

He offers that here ambition refines itself here through "a consistent generosity toward the aims of others with a real intensity of effort directed toward its own ends." He states the keyword is COMMERCE, and when positive, this degree "is an exceptional capacity for organizing the converging and conflicting interests of many people in practical arrangements of mutual benefit."

So as we stand on the platform from which Saturn will move forward, we can and will be dealing with a vaster sense of the give and take in the marketplace of life and a need to rally joyously to some task to be done. Take a breath, and plunge into the sea!

From Here We Move Forward

Saturn now resumes its journey in the actional-material level of the Scene of “Federation,” or first half of Pisces. It moves into the emotional-social level of the scene in mid-January, and begins its journey through the individual spiritual level by March 1.

Because Saturn is in Pisces, it is ruled by Jupiter in all worldly things. As Jupiter is in the Virgo decan of Taurus until November 6, Venus with a sub-influence of the Moon will be the backdrop influence to Jupiter and Saturn. After then through February 21, Jupiter will be in the first decan of Taurus, ruled by Venus with a sub-influence of Mercury. Jupiter will continue to rule Saturn as long as it’s in Pisces, with a major shift occurring when Jupiter enters Gemini at the end of May.

So take a deep breath, and take another look at the themes introduced in early March 2023. We’ve now all gotten a different look at those themes, and stand ready to move forward with expertise, vision, and a sense of having grown wherever we have 1 through 8 Pisces in our charts. As I noted in part 1, now that it moves forward it makes a very favorable binovile, quintile, and sextile with Uranus in Taurus, allowing us to take the power generated by the squares they made and turn them to spiritual realizations, gifts, and productivity.
