Mercury Stationary Direct at 16 Aries Affecting April, May, June, and July 2024 pt. 2 

Mercury goes direct at 5:54 am PDT on April 25 and will be in its shadow zone through May 13/14, after which it enters its next phase of moving through "unknown zones" where the themes of this retrograde will be played out in forward motion. So for the next 2 weeks expect some very productive intersections of past and future, giving us a chance to show how willing we are to update our perceptual files, moving forward with a sense of our new potential given the realizations we’ve arrived at these past few weeks.

Themes related to the span between 16-28 Aries will be prominent until Mercury enters its next shadow zone at 22 Leo on 16 Aries on July 16/17. We now have a thorough understanding of the “Scene” of Potency on the material, social, and spiritual levels, and because we all got “attuned” in some way in 2023, the retrograde we’re completing now gave us a review of our new identity, our new “land,” and our new life ahead.

This Mercury direct station falls at 16 Aries. It is said that the second third (decan) of any sign deals with the social and emotional levels of life, and as this falls in the second decan of Aries, it has a sub-influence of Leo with an added dose of the Sun. Because Mercury is in Aries, it is highly active and ruled by Mars in Pisces. This gives the current Mercury in Aries experience a Pisces backdrop which will modify when Mars enters Aries, bringing a lot more spark and fire to Mercury!

The Moon and Sun at this Station

The Moon at the station is a Full Moon, said to be a relationship oriented phase which can be absolute in its expression, whether for or against something because it does or doesn’t fulfill its ideal. As the Moon is at 24 Scorpio, we’ll get echoes of those themes which dominated between 2014-2019, as Saturn went stationary retrograde on that degree in 2014, followed by Mars and Jupiter also going stationary retrograde on that degree in 2016 and 2018.

So this station brings an echo of using our experience to transform our life. As I wrote about this degree, it’s about “going deeper into our long wave transfiguration of allowing our spiritual experiences and teachings to transform our lives so our personalities may perfectly align with our Higher Self and the truths which inspired us before now. Move through your world living the highest truths you can, allowing your Soul to express through your Higher Self using your mind, feelings, and bodies as a perfectly attuned vehicle to demonstrate your spiritual truths.

At this station, the Sun is at 6 Taurus, the same degree that Mercury went SD at in April 2023 AND the same degree Jupiter went SD at in late December 2023! This indicates the illumination and “powering up” of those themes which involved bridge building to cross some “chasm” in our lives. As Venus leads the Light, it is the Gateway to Illumination. Act according to your spiritual integrity, and value what you have learned since 2020.

The Sun is totally unafflicted, while the Moon is opposed Jupiter and Uranus while trine Mars and Neptune. This is very favorable for realizations which “confirm our worth” and show us how to refine our power into extraordinary skills. With Mercury conjunct the North Node on Chiron’s last direct station, no doubt the coming weeks will be extremely growth oriented.

Looking Back, Looking Ahead

So from here Mercury moves forward! We can now take what we reviewed, got a new understanding of, or found new information about that helped us remember and/or reevaluate some things and move forward with a larger view and contemplation of what has been and what will be, especially in the houses where we have Gemini and Virgo, since Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo.

As it was retrograde between 16 and 28 Aries, those house(s) in our charts have been the areas where our review, reflections, returns, reconsiderations, and/or rehearsals have taken place. Since it is now direct, if there have been misunderstandings or delays these past 3 weeks, it's all moving forward from here! We can begin to get a lot more accomplished, after a period of slow downs, turnarounds, review, reflection, reworking, undoing, and re-planning. We’ve been offered a chance to rethink many things, and experienced new ways of seeing how to organize or reorganize something, or make something more efficient. Now we move forward into a new life knowing we’re traversing familiar ground before we leap into the future in mid-May.

So things should start moving forward anew fairly quickly. Right now, it’s a good time to use the different information, views, and approaches we’ve been examining through the retrograde lens these past several weeks to find a new productivity as we express our unique gifts. We now have an alternative take on some things, as well as a more direct way of seeing things. Having taken a slight detour through the past, can move forward into a time of linking up with our Spiritual Brothers and Sisters in a new practical model.

Now that we've done our rehearsals, reviews, revisions, and/or research on those inner and outer experiences showing us the need to simplify and reconsider some of our methods, we can be at ease as we move into a more unique expression. Here we again face the future, knowing a different sense of Being and a new way to dance with Nature.

After the confusion and repeated “turnarounds” of the past 3 weeks, the favorable aspects between the planets in Taurus and the planets in Pisces promise continued productivity as we move forward. Much of what this retrograde was really about will be triggered by Mars as it moves through the shadow zone between May 20 and June 6. As we are Spirits flying freely in the direction we choose, remember the immortal words of George Harrison, “if you don’t know where you’re going, any road will get you there.”

From Here We Speed Up!

Things related to Mercury will speed up considerably for the next 3 months, so flow with the new YOU you’re experiencing! Meditate on the symbol “Brownies Dancing in the Setting Sun,” since it’s the Sabian symbol I gave you in part 1. That sets the theme for the next 3 months, and helps us “repotentialize” our lives and our ability to dance with Life and Spirit. Up to now we’ve given up lesser things to fulfill a greater potential. This helps us focus to fulfill that potential.

There are tremendous spiritual rewards for accepting new conditions and in being clear about our focus. This station allows us to go forward, resuming many things put on hold during the last Mercury retrograde in December. We now are definitely in a new life, with the need to find closure using our creative imagination and willingness to “join with others in a collective rebirth.”
