Around 4 am PDT September 12, Mercury leaves its “Shadow Zone” and moves into the future. What does this mean?

For those who don’t know the term, a planet’s “Shadow Zone” is the span of degrees between the point it goes stationary retrograde back to where it goes stationary direct. When a planet which was retrograde goes direct, it moves across the same span of degrees it did when retrograde. That is the Shadow Zone.

Mercury went SRX at 5 Virgo on August 4/5. It retrograded back to 22 Leo, where it went direct August 28. It’s now in forward motion and is leaving the boundary of its shadow zone at 5 Virgo. As Mercury, “the Guide of Souls” and coordinator of aour Life is now speeding up, we can expect all things related to Mercury to speed up as well for the next few weeks.

Now Mercury moves forward through Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, and most of Sagittarius, where it goes retrograde again on November 25 at 23 Sagittarius. During the coming period “the Guide of Souls” will take us through a Mercurial examination of the signs of practical adjustments and effective service, relationships, magnetism, loss/gain, and visions of greater truths and larger futures. When it next goes SRX, we’ll be in a place where we’ll take a look back at the entire year, as the 23 Sag SRX degree is the same one where it went SD last January, promising 2024 was about “entry into a new country.”

As Mercury leaves its Shadow Zone, it now can bring us a new approach to who we have become in 2024 and what we have to face in the future. We’ve now taken a look back at how we use our creative imagination, our ability to know the relationship of the parts to the whole, and reworked our relationship to how we play, how we work, and how we release our potential in the social or emotional realm. We’re all had to make adjustments and now find ourselves in a place where we have some sort of message to deliver.

We now we have a new view so that our ideas can “catch up” with our life, likes, and initiatives. From here, Mercury will speed up until it catches up to the Sun at the next Superior Conjunction at 9 Libra on September 30. That will offer a “fusion of Life and Mind” related to our way of “returning to source” during a search for new meaning. We’ll all re-examine what inspired us in the past to find new inspiration and connectedness with our feelings as we become an archetype.

So enjoy the quickened pace, which should help many areas of our lives move forward in fine style. As usual, I’ll be writing more about Mercury’s Superior Conjunction with the Sun in late September, as well as the very important aspects going on at that time. We now have reviewed and reflected on many things about our Virgo and Leo involvements, and now get to experience a Mercurial take on the spans in Virgo, Libra, and Scorpio already transited or to be transited by Venus and the Sun.

The Dec 2023 Capricorn retrograde began with a look back at 2023, and ended on a degree of “immigrants seeking entrance into a new country.” Since then we’ve been preparing for and then entering our new lives in a new land, accelerated by the renewed vision of the Aquarius transits and the endings of the Pisces transits. We now move forward into new insights and new ways of interpreting our 2024 experience in “the new land.”

The Guide of Souls takes us forward from here, into new discernment, new education, new archetypes, new repair work to do, new connections to be made, and new faith to be developed. Mercury’s now going to see what, why and how the past can be used to feed the future. Welcome to the Autumn of 2024!
