We are just hours away from Jupiter’s entry into Taurus and the exact square from Jupiter to Pluto! The tight square began around May 5 and will last until the end of May, with the square exact at 6:11 pm PDT on May 17. We’re in the heart of the storm!

Jupiter’s entry into Taurus brings quick and dynamic events through its square to Pluto from 1 Taurus to 1 Aquarius, which is immediately intensified by Mars’ entry into Leo, opposing Pluto and squaring Jupiter. This is a very powerful point of either conflict and/or integration, with the void at 1 Scorpio showing us either the problem or solution. As I mentioned yesterday, be strong yet flexible. Let go or accept as needed. Preserve what matters.

Scorpio is about magnetism and intense feelings, so check your astral body to feel what’s going on. Mostly transit to transit aspects work out impersonally, but depending on the aspects these planets are making in our charts, major events could help us turn a corner and move in dynamic new directions! Do NOT to anything dangerous or risky. Keep everything open and above board, and ask for what you believe is in your future best interests. Keep calm, dampen down excitement but if you have to do something, do it in grand style!

Obviously, this will most impact planets we have in the last 3 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, the first 3 degrees of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius, and 13-17 Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces. If you have planets or points in any of these areas, be cautious and take heed of the advice in the previous paragraph. The other side of this equation is that if we have planets at the end of Pisces or beginning of Aries, the end of Taurus and beginning of Gemini, the end of Virgo and beginning of Libra, and the end of Scorpio and beginning of Sagittarius then this is an extraordinarily favorable T-square, since those planets harmonize the Mars opposed Pluto which release the dynamic productivity and understanding through the square to Jupiter, a very favorable thing!

In addition, we are told that Mars opposed Pluto gives a need to get around inhibiting conditions, avoid corrosive or dishonest people, and be alert to the seeds of the future you glimpse while this opposition is in play between May 17-28. Find the right means to accomplish what you know you need to do, don’t get bogged down in misdirected efforts, and see anything new or unusual which comes forth as having unsuspected value. Practice tolerance, and if things look like they’re escalating, be calm as you de-magnetize yourself from the escalation.

Of course Mars opposing Pluto and then squaring Jupiter May 19-25 keeps Jupiter square Pluto activated, with lessons around not getting involved in hassles and contentions which shouldn’t be your business, and doing things in grand style if “forced to perform.” Cultivate assurance in the face of enormous pressures, refuse all which is petty, and see where your best play is.

As the T-square will be close the entire second half of May, pay attention to the times the Moon activates the T when it transits the early degrees of the Fixed signs. They are May 17 (Moon in Taurus), May 24 (Moon in Leo) and May 31/June 1 with Moon in Scorpio square Pluto, opposed Jupiter, and square Mars. That pretty much ends the T-square influence.

What Two of the Greatest Say About Jupiter in Taurus

With an eye to examining how Jupiter square Pluto could manifest, I’ll first requote something I gave you yesterday about what two of the greatest had to say about Jupiter in Taurus.

Grant Lewi, in his masterwork Astrology For The Millions, says Jupiter in Taurus opens opportunities that involve zero risk, since "opportunity and security are one...." He says it brings shelter and security, where opportunities come easily and without much effort. Jupiter in Taurus doesn't take gambles, and isn't much attracted to new ways of doing things. This position is generous in its appreciation of the finest of food, the arts, and enjoyable interactions.

Marc Edmund Jones, in his masterwork Astrology: How and Why It Works, says Jupiter in Taurus "indicates the development of a consciousness which is characteristically self-exploiting, and sure in its response to ideas." It is motivated by "its own inexhaustible capacity for experience," "is interested in making an effective contribution to the values of life," and requires a "genuine role in human progress."

As Jupiter is in Taurus and driving the square, its qualities will be the ones releasing the Plutonic seeds. In his other masterwork Heaven Knows What, they added sections on the outermost invisible triad written as Grant Lewi might have written them. While it was written about a natal Jupiter/Pluto affliction, we may get some hints about how it works from what’s offered. It cautions us to be realistic in our journey from what is to what could be, since this aspect is one of great vision while underestimating what will be encountered along the way. Make sure assessments of strengths and weaknesses are accurate, and we need to be willing to go to the limit of what we’re able and not one step further.

Other possible manifestations could involve breaking up a huge log jam in some crucial areas of life, refusing coercive or corrosive engagements, not buying a big opportunity which could be founded on a lie or misrepresentation, making sure to note every possible thing which might arise during an adventure or long journey, and being careful in all contracts to make sure things are exactly as represented. Don’t let a perfectly good opportunity slip away, but remember that often things are not as they seem.

This can accompany a great opportunity to turn a major life corner with the resources you need to grow into a new life. Still, if you’re offered a chance for a deeper or more evolved way of meeting others, or have a new vista of interaction open up, keep it slow, steady, and pleasant as you engage your forward drive.

In any case, show caution in life areas where you have 1 Taurus and 1 Leo, since these are the activators of the Plutonian seeds. You’ve already glimpsed a whole new beginning where you have Aries, and are about to secure what you need to move into that new life. Just keep it all honest, above board, and don’t be afraid to make clear and specific demands on circumstances so they are in your best interest in the future.
