Neptune goes stationary retrograde at 30 Pisces at 3:40 am PDT, 11:40 am BST July 2. What does this mean and how will it impact us?

When any of the planets go stationary retrograde, it marks a “forward station” in the pulse of that planet and the part it symbolizes in our personality (lower triad) or Spiritual Body (Upper Triad). The Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars are mainly associated with our personality, while Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn are mainly associated with our connection with society and our larger aspirations and duties.

The outer “Invisible Quartet,” Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, and TransPluto, show us the Transpersonal realms of existence. (While Uranus is occasionally very faintly observable, for all practical purposes it’s invisible to most.) Uranus individualizes us, and Neptune helps us move and groove within collective consciousness. Pluto shows us what must be purified to the core so we may know our Divine Power of eternal regeneration, and TransPluto shows us how to redeem growth after decay, and new life after a period of death or dormancy.

Any of these outermost planets going stationary retrograde indicates a threshold state in the Transpersonal energy field. Since we’re dealing here with Neptune going retrograde, and Neptune symbolizes collective consciousness and all it likes, supposes, and wonders about, we now enter a time when the collective atmosphere now reviews parts of what it explored and dreamed into manifestation since it last went direct at 25 Pisces in December 2023.

The Sabian Symbol for Neptune’s Station

Neptune represents what is “in fashion” in the collective. Different cultures and subcultures interpret this global pulse in different ways. This retrograde station is a high water mark, a crest of forward movement requiring us to review the shadow span from now through December when it goes stationary direct at 28 Pisces. We then move forward across the shadow zone one last time through March 30, 2025 when it leaves the shadow zone and enters Aries.

The Sabian Symbol for the 30th degree of Pisces is "The Great Stone Face," taken from a Nathaniel Hawthorne tale. In the original notes from the Marc Jones class on the symbols published in The Astrology of Personality, Rudhyar says this degree is one of "Eventual concrete manifestation of all higher poetic images and enduring truths of the race. Sure culmination of effort."

In the Astrological Mandala he goes on to say this is a degree of “the power of clearly visualized ideals to mold the life of the visualizer," which addresses our power of self-transformation expressed through our thought form building capacities. In that work, Rudhyar brings up one of the most important spiritual qualities of this degree: This power can be developed through visualization, when the emotions and the will are poured into the visualized mental image.

To which I’ll add, this is one of the powers latent in the human vehicle, called Siddhas, which have been demonstrated by many Higher Beings in many cultures throughout the ages. Rudhyar further compares it to the power in a seed to replicate and provide a pattern for the future growth of the generic plant archetype in its various forms, and states this degree falls in the Span of Protection, Scene of Perpetuation, and is the ultimate degree on the Individual-Mental level in the Act of Capitalization.

Dr. Jones says this degree "is a symbol of human responsibility as an immortality of the soul, and of a way of living which has become a continual manifestation of its ideal..." He states this dramatizes our “self-discovery to others as an encouragement to them in their own alignment to eternal reality.”

He continues "Each individual selects the image within himself to which he would shape himself outwardly, and this he comes to resemble..." He reminds us that "Character is destiny," in the sense that as you shape your character you make your Destiny.

The keyword for the symbol is DISCERNMENT and we are told that when operating positively, "the degree is self-integrity in its irresistible impact on the course of events." So this degree is a challenge to articulate an effective self-realization in a continual manifestation of some ideal, and “self-discovery” to encourage others to align with an eternal reality.

To elaborate on something Rudhyar said, the power of visualization to create future effects is the energetic principle around and permeating affirmations, meditation, chanting various mantras, the power of "positive thinking," and every principle offered in the not-so-secret "Secret." We do have the power to bring forth a demonstration from Spirit, as long as a) it is true for us, and b) we do not undermine our thought-forms with doubt, negativity, rationalizations, or interfering conscious or unconscious waveforms distracting us from our concentrations. Impatience leading to doubt and/or a lack of focus is one of the killers of our dreams.

The process is one of 1) Concentration, 2) Meditation, and 3) Contemplation yielding A) Force Realization, B) Force Application, and C) Force Utilization. We must first learn to concentrate before we can move into meditating on a thing. Once we have the ability to meditate, then we can contemplate anything from a holistic perspective.

As we do this, we begin to realize we are more aware than we were before. These realizations must be applied as best we are able, to see what works and what needs to be refined. As we apply our realizations, we become skilled at various things which help us serve however we are called to serve.

As we learn various ways to “get out of our own way” and dream a more perfect future, we are able to inspire healing energies on the material, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels. When directed wisely, this power to shape and direct energy can be used to heal cancers at great distances or mitigate potential "natural disasters," among other things. It all depends on what is visualized, what is affirmed, and the level of consciousness of the dreamer.

It is said the process of "precipitation" that such adepts as Christ, H.P. Blavatsky, Babaji, Apollonius of Tyana, Sri Yukteswar Giri, and other venerable teachers of antiquity and modernity use to demonstrate "miracles" are just the wise use of Nature to fulfill Her power to bring forth all forms in the right way and time. Nothing miraculous is ever contrary to Nature's laws. Rather, they are the fulfillment of the human potential, a great thing indeed if the chronicles of antiquity are to be believed.

We have the power to create a much greater future for ourselves, but we must organize into thought-form building groups to strengthen the manifestations. Part of the work in bringing forth a better world will come from negating the destructive thought-forms that pervade our psychic atmosphere.

Also, thought-forms must be crafted with great precision if we are to bring forth the desired effect with a minimum of unintended consequences. And of course we must have faith in our power to bring forth desirable manifestations, if we just align our little will with the Divine Will, or Spirit. Works here are the demonstration of our faith.

This is why we must seek our community, near and far, to find those in our Sangha whose faith and thought-form building capacities can harmonize with ours. Then synergy takes over, and the total is always more than the parts.

The Review

So our review of and within the collective field these next 5 months involves us visualizing the future we want to see made manifest in 2025. We’ve all begun to find “abundance” in the “newly opened lands” of 2024, and now are at the end of the end before the beginning of many years of Neptune in Aries which should bring more clarity and less delusion than the Neptune in Pisces era has brought us.

So visualize carefully what you want in the way of growth, connection, and worldly goods you’ll need to enter the Spring of the 21st century in 2025. Transits in late Cancer create favorable understanding of Neptune and should help us blow out unregenerate patterns. Transits in late Leo will form quincunxes with Neptune, forcing adjustments and recalibration in light of new responsibilities to come.

Because this is “the end of the end” of an old era and the preparation time for our entry into a new era in 2025, take another look at your individual and spiritual approach to perpetuating deep and vast feelings and the distributive water that Pisces symbolizes. Obviously the themes of this degree will be prominent in 2025 after Neptune retrogrades back to 30 Pisces between late October 2025 and late January 2026 when the dream is over and the action has begun!

The Larger Tides of the Collective Field

So we now begin to review all we’ve experienced since last December within that vast “feeling field” known as Neptune. This review will last through the beginning of December 2024, when Neptune will go stationary direct at 28 Pisces. At that point we will again trace the span between 28-30 Pisces, and will know what we have mastered, as we move into a new collective field of awareness by late March 2025.

Neptune left the second decan of Pisces in February 2021 and has been in the third decan since then. This decan, which is the end of the end of the cycle, has a double Mars influence, so remember to take note of where Mars is and the aspects it makes during Neptune’s stay in the last third of Pisces.

Tying past and present together, Uranus first transited 28-30 Pisces between late March and late May 2010, mid-August to early November 2010, and January through early March 2011. During that time Jupiter conjuncted Uranus at 29 Pisces in September 2010 and again at 28 Pisces in January 2011. This is the time when those “chickens are coming home to roost.”

Most recently, Jupiter expanded those late Pisces themes of closure, abundance, things falling apart, and the need for clear visualization when it occupied this zone the end of April and beginning of May 2022, revisited between late October and late December 22 when it went stationary direct at 29 Pisces in late November. That’s important because it’s the same degree Neptune will conjunct the Moon’s North Node in early February 2025.

Whatever was awakened in those past transits and conjunctions is now going to echo back, since the stone thrown into the pond then will now ripple throughout collective consciousness. Most recently, when Jupiter went SD at 29 Pisces in late 2022, it “primed the pump” on that earlier Pisces conjunction energy to “boost the signal” of that which is now where the collective feeling field is at.

When any of the outers go retrograde or direct, it shows as major “sea changes” in the global field. Neptune going retrograde will affect that part of our Hologram that interfaces with the collective field. Up to now, we’ve all been moving through the dreamscape wherever we have late Pisces.

Other Factors in the Collective Field

So the tide has turned again! We’re now sailing back across familiar parts of the Piscean ocean we’ve been navigating for a long time with favorable aspects between Saturn and Uranus, and Uranus and Neptune for the rest of this year and beyond. Given Neptune’s back in sextile to Pluto, it’s like we can expect a “return to some sort of normalcy” in 2025 after Neptune transitions into Aries and then Uranus transitions into Gemini.

Because of the important aspects now in play, keep your focus on being present in the flow and get clear about what you want to see made manifest in the future. As we’ve already experienced a greater abundance of some sort, stay aware of what the tides are bringing in and what they’re taking out to sea. While Neptune’s effects are deep and vast, we also have new initiatives rapidly taking shape which are leading us to an emergence of a new way of expressing our individuality in 2025. Pay attention to your empathic connection to the collective field, and you may find yourself “knowing” without using your mind.

Now we review our sense of “the abundance of our life” and the period since then when many things have fallen apart and we’ve reached the end of our ambivalence and immersion in a collective watery field. Keep taking time occasionally to tune out the white noise of outer things and listen to the Voice of the Silence which can teach you the Wisdom you need.

Since February 2019, Neptune’s been in the second half of Pisces, the “end of the end” of the Whole Cycle of 360 phases. It will continue to occupy the final face of Pisces (and in 2025, the first face of Aries) through January 2026 when it moves into Aries for the long run. So In early 2019 we left the “Span of Innocence” and “Scene of Federation” which we explored since April 2011, and now have been immersed in the “Span of Protection” and “Scene of Perpetuation” which are the themes of the last half of Pisces.

The span between 16 and 20 Pisces is said to be “actional,” the span between 21-25 Pisces is said to be “emotional-social,” while the span between 26-30 Pisces is said to be “mental-spiritual.” Regard the next year as the fulfillment of our collective Pisces experience, where we see how the events of the past few years have moved our awareness from emotional and social expression into a more individual spiritual expression. This is Neptunian activity which perpetuates the best of the current vision in a way that operates from a centralized view of our higher awareness within the larger Soul field we share with others.

We are in a time of powerful spiritual growth into our authentic power; be compassionate, forgiving, and bless many things to flow down the time stream, and you will see your unique spiritual power within the Soul field more clearly by 2025. This station activates a new collective Neptunian theme related to the individual and spiritual dimensions of that planetary influence.

All we build this year is serving the new era launched in December 2020 at the Grand Mutation in Aquarius. We have begun a new world with new visions, new ideals, and new ways of relating to and working with each other. We’ve ended a 200 year materialistic Earth era and begun a 200 year idealistic Air era.

Much has been set in motion which is leading us through powerful collective transformation these next few years. Because of Saturn and Neptune in the final part of the zodiac, and Jupiter bringing serious releases of energy and the turning of many corners in August when it squares Saturn and sesquisquares Pluto while Saturn is semisquare Pluto, we’re approaching a collective friction which probably won’t let up until the Spring of 2025. We now are looking back from the threshold of sign changes, a time of dreaming where the past has met the future at “the edge of time.” We’re literally “moving between worlds” right now, with an entirely new landscape coming for us all by 2025.

So we’re at the end of the end at the dawning of a brand new world. As it was once famously sung, “If I don’t meet you no more in this world, then I'll meet you in the next one and don’t be late. Don’t be late!”
