Anticipating Astrological Events: Is It Possible to Prepare in Advance?
- Details

I was asked the other day if an eclipse yet to come can affect us before it happens.
I thought that was a good question. What follows is my answer after observing people and celestial events for over 50 years.
On the one hand, I have never believed that we are responding to something which hasn't happened. On the other hand, there is an energetic dance we do with our own evolution which seems to lead us to being exactly as we need to be in the future even when we have no idea where we’re going or even how we evolve from one point of view one day to another point of view the next day.
I’ve heard people wonder if somehow we quicken to anticipate an event which is yet to come. I’d say yes, but with the provision that many are not aware of it. They are being led to something but have no idea what it is or even if it matters. So while something doesn’t happen until it happens, we still have our Dharma to fulfill, and if an event is related to Dharma, then we’re on track for it to happen whether we cooperate with the process or not.
Here’s where I believe we dance with our own evolution. For example, I’ve been asked for good marriage dates for many decades. I’ve found that when I give a couple a “perfect date to be married,” a strange and wondrous thing happens. It is as though each individual begins to change in ways which conform to the qualities of the two partners in a marriage chart. They either move toward or resist the process of becoming the best of the qualities of the future marriage partners.
In that sense, setting the inception of an event does seem to affect the participants once the chart is set. With eclipses, it’s a different matter. I don’t believe we are moved to conform to a Lunation before that Lunation happens. But we also have countless other factors already in play in our charts.
With eclipses, we’re always dealing with effects of eclipses which happened years before. As I noted in the recent article preceding the Total Solar eclipse in April, right now we’re still under the influence of eclipses from as long ago as 2019. Even though they will no longer be a factor by this Autumn, we’re still going to be dealing with eclipses since 2020 through 2026. In this article there's a list of all the Solar eclipses in play the past 13 years. We're still under the influence of eclipses from 5 years ago!
Add that every year Lunar eclipses take stuff away for months at a time, and it seems evident that there's always something influencing us. We had a Lunar eclipse at 6 Gemini/Sag on May 26, 2021, with effects lasting 5 months. We had another one at 28 Scorpio/Taurus on November 19, 2021 which lasted for 6 months.
In 2022, we had a Lunar eclipse at 26 Taurus/Scorpio on May 16 which lasted 5 months and 10 days, and another one at 17 Scorpio/Taurus on November 8 which lasted for 6 months. In 2023 we had a Lunar eclipse at 15 Taurus/Scorpio on May 5 which lasted 4 months and 9 days, and another one at 6 Scorpio/Taurus on October 28 which lasted 4 months and 12 days. And of course we just had one on March 25 at 6 Aries/Libra which will be active 4 months and 20 days.
So it’s easy to see that over the past few years we were bombarded by eclipses involving the Gamini/Sagittarius and Taurus/Scorpio sectors of our charts which have now slipped into Aries/Libra. Pisces/Virgo’s on the way in 2025!
I’ll close by reminding you that in our birth and early life, a huge influence is the eclipse which happened before we were born. Everyone is born after an eclipse or before an eclipse. If the former, we’re “under those beams.” If the latter, then when our charts progress to that eclipse time we go through a major internal ending in the years after the event.
Also, many go through a progressed Solar eclipse and then a Lunar eclipse or vice versa! An example of this would be someone born a few days before the March 2024 Lunar eclipse, who would have that as an event in their early life, and then 14 years later would have the progressed Solar eclipse at 20 Aries. Those people will have a lot taken away in life, replaced with a power of autonomy and self-sufficiency.
Anyway, just a few things to consider as we cruise through the intersections of Fate Street and Freewill Street on Eternity Boulevard.
