I hope this finds you already in the midst of savoring and enjoying each moment of the holiday season. It’s time to celebrate and cherish the gifts we’ve been given. This thing called life is a miracle, each and every particle of it, and the holiday season is a celebration of the miraculousness of it all.

Almost 30 years ago, I wrote a little book called Happy Holidays and dedicated it to my brother David, “that delightful child inside of you always makes the holiday season a glorious time of year for all of us.” My book was intended to help everyone share the joy and I suggested some “perfect gifts” for everyone in your world:

The gift of unquestioned acceptance
Accept everyone as a valuable human being. Show those around you that they are loved for who they are, not for what they do or how much they please you. See the Divine in everyone.

The gift of present moment awareness
The holidays are a perfect time to practice your present moment awareness. Forget the past and let go of future concerns. Use the gift of your example to help others live in the now and enjoy life one moment at a time.

The gift of being fully alive
Give the gift of enthusiasm and positivity to those around you. Be a person who can sparkle and appreciate all of life. Allow for new adventures, laughter, fun, creativity, and trusting your inner light in all that you do. By your example, help others find happiness within and bring happiness to virtually all circumstances.

Close your eyes and take a deep breath. Then take a new look around and really see this time of appreciation, excitement, happiness, and peace for the goodness it contains. Your decision to emphasize the positive can make this a true season of light, a chance to rekindle the spirit of love and living life to the fullest. Make your holidays about awe and gratitude for the miracles.
