The Ultimate Stress-Relief Plan for Women
- Details
- Written by Sophia Smith
Women nowadays have it easier in so many ways: the abundance of choices regarding career and education have put women in a much better position they were in fifty years ago, but unfortunately, it has also brought women a lot of stress. Caring for the family, working and studying can be overwhelming, which is why a lot of women complain about being too exhausted and stressed. Therefore, it’s important to find a way to relax and get rid of the stress, so it won’t cause any physical and emotional consequences.
If you feel you’re being too stressed, here are some tips and suggestions that can help you be happier and less anxious:
1. Get a break
The first thing that will surely help you relax is to get a break. That doesn’t have to be a vacation to a luxurious resort, but rather just a few days or a week when you won’t have to do much, aside from the tasks and chores that are absolutely unavoidable. Even then, if you can delegate those tasks to those around you (co-workers, other family members…), feel free to do so without hesitation. The main point is that women are often told that their jobs and households rely on them to function, and a lot of them grow up thinking that they must be absolutely present in order to make things work.
In reality, things aren’t that black and white, so instead of chastising yourself for wanting to take a break, you need to allow yourself a break in the first place. When you do that, only then can you consider getting a rest for a day or two and finally alleviate the stress that’s been accumulating.
You can also use some quality essential oils to help you relieve stress, and because of their many health benefits it is highly advisable to incorporate them into your daily self-care routine.
2. Talk to someone
If you’re too busy to travel somewhere, and you feel like things have been getting out of control, then it’s surely recommended to talk to someone who will understand your worries without judging you or wanting to offer advice immediately. Therefore, talking to a psychologist, psychotherapist or simply a reputable life coach can have very positive benefits for your mental health. Sometimes we’re too engrossed in our lives that we can’t even verbalize what’s been troubling us, and the first step towards healing is to say it out loud to someone who’ll listen with care and empathy.
3. Don’t neglect your appearance
Just because you’re exhausted or stressed out, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take care of your appearance. Furthermore, some women might find that relaxing, especially if that’s the only time when they get to be alone or with their trusted cosmetologist. Opting for a cosmetic beauty treatment in reputable aesthetic clinic will surely help you feel better and more self-confident, so next time you have an extra hour in your schedule, feel free to book a facial. You don’t need to spend a lot as many clinics and beauty centres offer treatments at reasonable prices. Also, for some women who suffer from hormone imbalance, getting a beauty treatment will surely make them feel more self-assured and beautiful.
4. Consider exercising
Stress can have negative consequences for our health, and being physically active can greatly improve the way our bodies respond to stress. Whether it’s running, yoga, pilates or weight-lifting, chances are you’ll feel much better after an hour of working out, especially if that hour is the only time of day when you can be with yourself without worrying about work or house chores. Aside from exercising, you can also consider walking, dancing and swimming.
5. Let yourself enjoy some time off
In case you don’t have time to work out or undergo cosmetic treatments, taking some time off to watch a movie or read a book can definitely help you feel better about yourself. Don’t be afraid to pick up a cheesy romantic novel or to watch a reality show, as these can be great stress reliefs, too. Spending time with your family, or watching a hot new TV show with your partner can be a great bonding exercise, but in order to feel fulfilled, it’s important to have some me-time, that you won’t feel obligated to share with anybody. That will give you some time to reflect on your day and to plan your schedule without feeling you owe something to others.
Conclusion
Having some stress-relief mechanisms will help you feel more balanced and confident, especially if you have too much on your plate already. Remember that allowing yourself a break isn’t a sign of selfishness, but rather a very gentle way to love yourself and feel good in your own skin.
