The Sun conjuncts Uranus at 2:14 am PDT on May 13, closing an old cycle of awakening and opening a new one.

This Sun conjunct Uranus happens at 24 Taurus, bringing a new surge of individual-spiritual Light/Life wherever we have 24 Taurus impacting us for the next year.

Many of you will recall 24 Taurus was where Uranus went stationary retrograde last August and then went back to 19 Taurus where it went stationary direct in January of this year. That means we hit a threshold of spiritual awakening last Summer, and had to re-trace the lessons associated with that span of Taurus. That area of our charts has had various upheavals, unexpected awakenings, and generally revolutionary conditions for the last few years.

I gave you the Sabian symbol for 24 Taurus in the article written about last August’s retrograde station in Spiritual Astrology in August 2023 – Uranus Stationary Retrograde at 24 Taurus. As the Sun is now illuminating that degree for the next year, it seems that over the next year, we’ll see the Light of the preliminary “dress rehearsal” awakenings we’ve been going through since last Summer. This is “the Light of Uranus” as we will experience it each time the transits trigger 24 Taurus, with the Sun, Venus, and Mercury doing it in May, and Mars accelerating the process in the second week of July.

To remind you, themes of 24 Taurus involve some form of command and control over nature or others’ expertise and skills, but we are also cautioned to be watchful of those who are violent, or unnecessarily brutal in their aggressiveness. The Uranus retrograde awakened new energies about what confirms us, our skills, and/or our life mission in a way suited to our individuality, and can do what we must to stabilize those skills that make our social or emotional existence more secure.

Since Uranus’ direct station in January, we’ve been in a period of allowing our spontaneity to come up and out as we searched for what is meaningful to us in our society or culture. This led us to the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction at the “white dove flying over troubled waters,” indicating we have made it through a crisis and now can receive the message from Spirit that our ordeal is over and we have a blessing for the future.

This begins another year of “enlightened originality” or “enlightened genius” wherever we have 24 Taurus in our chart. Look to see how your ability to take command of situations and/or manage others’ energies or expertise has developed since August 2023, and trust your ability to revolutionize your life and mind through the awakenings to come. This can bring a greater freedom of action, new forms of self-expression, new potentials, and our ability to “rework our possibilities through employing new powers.”
