RUNE OF THE MONTH:

“Daeg” Day. After the darkness of the night, the sun rises again. Each day is a precious gift that we should honor and make the most of. Following the ‘dark night of the soul’ of the previous months, October gives us the chance to work towards our goals and fulfill our dreams.

Wednesday 10/2, Solar Eclipse in Libra (10º04’) at 11:49 AM. Eclipses always herald important changes. This one brings new beginnings that are likely to entail much thought and discussion. It stresses the importance of healthy, supportive relationships, and of creating harmonious, peaceful environments. It is essential that we hone our negotiation skills, do not compromise our integrity, and make sure we assert our needs in a respectful manner. To have an idea of what to expect, we may want to remember what was happening in our lives around October 2, 1978 (8º43’ Libra); October 3, 1986 (10º16’ Libra); and October 3, 2005 (10º19’ Libra), when eclipses occurred at a similar degree.

Pluto turns direct on October 11. Its shadow period lasts until February 2, 2025. The degree it turns direct on (29º39’ Capricorn) is associated in the Sabian Symbols with the following image: “A secret meeting of men responsible for executive decisions in world affairs”. At the tail end of the cycle of Pluto in Capricorn which began in 2008, the corruption that has dominated the world is being exposed in a glaring light. Secret meetings are no longer secret. The handful of people holding the reins of power are showing more desperation in their greed to maintain their crumbling positions. But as their manipulations and  long-time wrong-doings are becoming visible to all, their days are numbered.

Jupiter turns retrograde on Wednesday 10/9 at 12:05 AM until February 4, 2025. Its shadow period will remain until May 1st, 2025. The degrees traveled in October (21º20’-20º33’ Gemini) are symbolized by: “Dancing couples in a harvest festival” and “A tumultuous labor demonstration”. The need for true social justice is become more and more prevalent, while the wish to celebrate life and its bounty is also present. They go hand in hand, as it is only when life is fair and the collective order, in place, that the people can relax and enjoy the abundance of Nature.

Saturn remains retrograde this whole month until November 15. Its shadow period lasts until February 18, 2025. The degrees traveled in October (14º22’-12º54’ Pisces) are symbolized by: “An officer instructing his men before a simulated assault under a barrage of live shells”, “A lady wrapped in a large stole of fox fur”, and “An ancient sword, used in many battles, is displayed in a museum”. Major wars are coming to an end.

Uranus remains retrograde this whole month until January 30, 2025. Its shadow period lasts until May 17, 2025. The degrees covered in October (26º54’-25º56’ Taurus) are associated with the following images: “An old Indian woman selling the artifacts of her tribe to passers-by” and “A Spanish gallant serenades his beloved”. Honoring our traditions and customs, keeping the legacy of our ancestors vibrant, as well as respecting traditional values ensure the peaceful continuity of life.

Neptune remains retrograde this whole month until December 7th. Its shadow period will remain until March 28, 2025. The degrees covered in October (28º14’-27º31’ Pisces) are represented by: “Light breaking into many colors as it passes through a prism” and “A fertile garden under the full Moon reveals a variety of full-grown vegetables”. As world events are causing much stress and fear, it is more important than ever that we remember the abundance of Nature, the beauty of the world, and the goodness of life. Focusing on what enriches us physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually gives us the power to create a better, more inspiring, and uplifting reality.

This month's intentional meditation started on Tuesday 9/17 with the Full Moon (Lunar Eclipse) in Pisces at exactly 7:34 PM.

On Wednesday 10/2, take out your blank full moon charged papers and write on each a concise, positive intention. Place them on a balcony, in a garden or near a window so that they are out by exactly 11:49 AM for the New Moon (Solar Eclipse) in Libra. Once that moment has passed, staple them together and put them away in a folder expecting the manifestation of all your dreams….

Next month's intentional meditation starts on Thursday 10/17. Take out as many blank sheets of paper as you have intentions and place them near a window, on a balcony or in a garden so that they basked in the light of the Full Moon in Aries at exactly 4:26 AM. Once that moment passed, gather your Full Moon charged blank sheets and place them in a folder until the next New Moon next month.

Friday 10/4: Venus Trine Saturn (10:04 AM)

Love is tied to a sense of duty and responsibility. Fidelity and loyalty assume a greater than usual importance. A great day to visit an elderly parent or attend a social mixer at work. Excellent also for moving in together, getting engaged or married. If we are single, we become very clear on what we want in a deep committed relationship. We are realistic in the management of our resources and seek long-term financial growth.

Saturday 10/5: Mercury Square Mars (11:37 PM)

Our temper could be tested today by obstacles that seem unfair. Best to stay away from potential conflicts as our impatience could cloud our judgement and make us react faster than would be wise. It is recommended that we are particularly careful when driving. A day best spent engaging in intense physical activities or clearing challenging paperwork.

Tuesday 10/8: Venus Trine Mars (3:22 AM), Mercury Trine Jupiter (5:23 AM)

Social activities are leisurely and fun. An ideal day to study something new, travel, buy, sell, trade, engage in a legal pursuit, or sign a contract. Our self-confidence is high. We are likely to meet interesting people who are eager to help us. If we have been expecting good news, a bonus or a promotion, this could be the day. If we don't take the easy way out, this transit is great for making positive plans for the future

Sunday 10/13: Mercury Square Pluto (7:03 AM), Mercury enters Scorpio (12:23 PM) till November 2, Sun Trine Jupiter (8:52 PM)

Today, as well as during the next 3 weeks, our thinking is profound. We X-ray situations and people, and taking nothing at face value, delve deeply into the topics we are interested in. Yet, our plans could be frustrated. Some of our most important ideas could be challenged. Issues around bullying and jealousy could surface. But if we use our mental intensity to get in touch with inner dimensions, are deliberate and calculated in our speech, and exert a particularly compelling charisma, we shall avoid the pitfalls of this cycle. Today, more specifically, our enthusiasm, faith, and optimism make us eager to expand our horizons and break free from anything that was holding us from expressing our true self. Our social life could develop through religious, educational or cultural institutions. A great day to seek admission in a school of higher learning. Financial investments are favored if we remain honorable, ethical, and generous towards those less fortunate than ourselves.

Monday 10/14: Sun Square Mars (1:15 AM), Venus Opposition Uranus (3:22 PM)

Arrogance, indiscretions, rash reactions, and anger can cause conflicts that we would later regret. Best to channel our energy into constructive projects. We seek excitement in our social life, could be somewhat inconsistent, even rebellious in our relationships, fall for a whirlwind romance or initiate an unexpected breakup. It is important that we are careful to not spend money too impulsively as sudden reversals of fortune are possible.

Tuesday 10/15: Venus Trine Neptune (5:49 PM)

A date could feel particularly enchanted. We could fall in love with love. Our tastes are refined. This transit favors creative imagination, daydreaming, visions, and idealism, and is wonderful for redecorating our home and beautifying ourselves. As long as we stay grounded, our financial affairs prosper.

Thursday 10/17: Venus Sextile Pluto (5:30 AM), Venus enters Sagittarius (12:28 PM) till November 11

A day to eliminate the activities that are no longer meaningful. Our focus is on finances and more specifically being released from material limitations. We could think of new interesting ways of making money. In our relationship, we seek intensity, transformation, and passion. During the next 3 weeks, we are adventurous, could find love overseas or fall for a foreigner. Love expands our consciousness, and we are not afraid of taking risks.

Monday 10/21: Mercury Trine Saturn (11:35 PM)

Our outlook is serious, our concerns, important, and our approach, methodical. Patient, pragmatic, and disciplined we are interested in practical matters. A great day to clear our desk of backlogged work, focus on our ambitions, and make long-term plans.

Tuesday 10/22: Sun Square Pluto (7:15 AM), the Sun enters Scorpio (3:15 PM) till November 21

Today is perfect for making radical changes in the areas of our lives that are not working well and getting rid of what we don't need any more. Working through obstacles without sacrificing our integrity, examining closely our motives, goals, and beliefs, and cooperating with others for the highest good of all, strengthen our character and help us resolve situations in need of restructuring. During the coming month, loyalty, passion, commitment, and power come to the forefront. We may be quite black and white in our assessments and unwilling to lower our standards. Truth and honorability must prevail.

Thursday 10/24: Mars Sextile Uranus (5:13 PM)

An eventful day. The pace of life accelerates. We feel positive, hyper-active, and assertive. Routine seems boring. We want to explore, experiment, do something different, and expand our social circle. The unknown is most appealing. We approach life in an inventive, dynamic, and brave manner.

Monday 10/28: Mars Trine Neptune (5:31 AM), Venus Square Saturn (6:35 AM)

Acutely aware of subtle energies, keenly sensitive to the emotional climate surrounding us, we seek a spiritually uplifting environment. Our actions are likely to be decisive yet secretive.
