Dear Friends of Astrology,

March holds some of the craziest planet spinning and weavings times that we will experience this year. The key will be to know when to hunker down and stay the course and know when it is best to pivot towards something better. It is a bit of a tornado spinning time and being conscious of staying in the eye of the storm around you will keep you sane and happy.

Why is this month so crazy you might ask? There are 2 eclipses, lunar and solar, with both Venus and Mercury shifting retrograde. Add on Neptune moving into Aries we have a month of remarkable shifting times.

Venus moves retrograde on March 1^st at 10 degrees of Aries, the moon will be with her when she stations bringing emotional needs to the surface for what one wants for happiness. Mercury in Pisces is with the node of the moon and Neptune; our thoughts will be all over the place. Getting straight answers can be difficult at this time. It is best to imagine a variety of possibilities for any quandary you are contemplating and continue to ask questions to uncover the kernel of truth that is buried under the surface.

The Virgo full moon eclipse on the 14^th vibrates with Saturn, the planet of realism and restrictions. Saturn teaches us limitations, it deals with boundaries and how to do the most with what is at hand, whether it is time management or making the paycheck go further. Saturn has a bit of the stoic philosophy; do ones duty and its ok just to do that. Since Virgo’s domain includes ones work and health, this eclipse will shine the light on work related issues and also be motivating to get back on track with a good health routine.

Mercury retrograde on the 15^th in Aries is with Venus. This is an excellent time to reconnect with friends. Mercury with Venus is love and appreciation of friendship. In Aries friendships have the capability to inspire each other to be your best version and encourage each other to go for what you want. 

There is a bit of risk taking with Mercury in Aries retrograde, sometimes your thoughts come out before you realize that speaking what you were thinking wasn’t in your best interest. As always with Mercury retro, double check your work as Aries wants everything done quickly and this can lead to silly mistakes.

The Sun enters Aries on the 20^th boosting the solstice with an energy with optimism. The Sun and Neptune are together imbuing the new season the mantra of if you can dream it you can achieve it. Expansive thinking with intuitive action coupled with your gut feeling that what you are doing feels right is the way to navigate the month ahead. Learning to sense which paths have the least resistance that take you to your dreams is the astro lesson now. Effort is still demanded, but futile exertion is not.

The solar eclipse on the 29^th  at 9 degrees Aries vibrates with Cupido, the symbol for community, family, tribe, and belonging. This eclipse brings out the longing to be with friends, family, and bond with a community of people that you can relate to. Venus is with Neptune emphasizing this desire even more along with the noble aspiration of uplifting others who are less fortunate. This combination is excellent for putting time and energy into creative endeavors. The eclipse new moon time is a wonderful weekend for romantic getaways, music concerts, and art fairs. Lending a helping hand is in the cards during this cycle  and can cause a dilemma of whether to pitch in to help a friend or take off to something you would rather do. 

Neptune makes its entrance into Aries at 8 am EDT on the 30^th.  Neptune has not travelled in the sign of Aries since April of 1875, (entering Aries February 1862). Historically this was a time of both economic growth along with financial instability and banking crises. However we have approximately 14 years of Neptune traveling in Aries and while some insights of what is to come will be revealed by late March much will stay obscured. If you remember the old Greek and Roman images of Neptune you will recall that Neptune rides on water and bellows wind. Symbolically this is a time for us to capture the wind in our sails and learn to be the master of our own ship. On a personal level capturing the understanding of Neptune in Aries will demand the ability to see what is only a pipe dream that goes up in smoke and what has true potential to manifest.
