Message from Sai Baba
Let God guide you wherever He wills! Marvel at what God has in store for you and where the journey leads. This is what it means to be fully connected to God or to only partially engage with God and your own spirituality.
“Your complaint that God does not answer or pour out His grace, even when you pray earnestly, stems from part-time spirituality and half-hearted longing. Those who wholeheartedly accept both pain and joy as gifts from God, without daring to judge them as good or bad, are truly devoted to God. In such an attitude, one can live carefree and happy.”
Sai Baba (from Jesus and Sai Baba, Govinda Sai Verlag, p. 268)
Part-Time Spirituality
JJK: Part-time spirituality – people who separate the worldly from the divine, or those who only remember God in times of need, asking for help or confronting Him with accusations – what does part-time spirituality mean?
SAI BABA: I am with you, beloved people, always!
Those who live in the world yet are not of this world, who are human yet in living communication with God, who know the inner longing for God, and who, at the end of a day, always turn to God to review the day’s events with Him – they are truly a child of God.
The longer your thoughts stray from God, and the more entangled you become in the hustle of time, the clearer it is that you only partially live in the awareness that God nourishes everything and is everything.
How Is This Possible Amid Life’s Distractions?
JJK: But with all the influences and distractions, with the struggle for survival that many face, how is it possible to think of God 24 hours a day?
Let God Work Through You
SAI BABA: It is possible when you let God work and think through you. Once God thinks through you, the 24 hours become natural, for then you no longer count the hours but are inwardly always connected.
Inviting God to dwell in you, embracing and hosting God permanently – that is the way. Let God reveal life to you and never complain about your challenges and trials.
When God resides in you, this becomes effortless. If you seek God outside yourself, frustration will be your constant companion.
What is good, what is bad, what is insignificant, what suits you? All these questions fade away once you let God take the wheel of your life.
JJK: Am I then just a passive passenger in my own life?
SAI BABA: Quite the contrary! Only when you hand over the wheel to God can you truly begin to live your life.
For then, you no longer need to focus on the road. Instead, you can let your gaze wander, attentively observing and perceiving every single flower by the wayside.
Let God guide you wherever He wills! Marvel at what God has in store for you and where the journey leads. This is what it means to be fully connected to God or to only partially engage with God and your own spirituality.
JJK: Beautiful! Yes, letting God think, speak, and act through me – that’s it…
When the Ego Is Purified…
SAI BABA: Many people approach God solely with their minds, forgetting that they must open inwardly to reach God.
Opening the heart and turning to God with the whole soul is a process that begins when the solutions offered by the mind no longer yield satisfactory results.
Once tears have purified the ego, everything happens naturally: the person transforms, and God enters their life.
How to Reach God?
JJK: So, how do we reach God?
SAI BABA: By living life until the longing awakens! There is no other way.
Ultimately, every person chooses to experience separation from God for as long as it serves their earthly experiences. Patiently working toward that initial spark – life after life – it happens naturally, and it is given!
I am with you, beloved person, who has followed these words with your heart and listened with your soul.
