Muriel, whose name means "God's Perfume", is the Angel of Divine Light and Love, emotion and grace within, and is the patron angel of empaths. She helps us to gain greater control over and fine tune our emotions to "feel" at a higher level. Muriel will help you to be able to pick out what others are feeling while enabling you to channel these emotions in a more constructive and productive manner. By being able to "feel" the emotions of others, while keeping your own in check, you will be able to discern the needs of others and be of greater service to the Light.

Muriel is also one of the four rulers of the Choir of Dominions. The Dominions are the fourth choir of angels and rule over the level where the physical and spiritual realms begin to merge. They channel God's love through mercy wielding power without oppression. Their emblems of authority are a scepter or orb carried in the left hand and a staff of gold held in the right hand. The other three rulers of the Dominions are Zadkiel,( the angel of Divine Justice) Hashmal ( the Fire Speaking Angel ) and Zachariel ( the Angel of Memories)

The book "A Treatise on Angel Magic, Maghum Opus Hermetic" describes Muriel as Queen of the Angels, Mistress of the Elements, Giver of Justice, Nurse of Mankind, protecting mankind from evil, kind, merciful, restrains the rage of demons, controls the elements, and cures diseases. It is alleged that the Angel Muriel carried the clay to God from which he created Adam.
