This came about as a result of a conversation a spiritual friend and I had about the nature of reincarnation, and whether a person can reincarnate as an animal or be used as a vehicle for another consciousness.

All Beings, whether mineral, plant, animal, human, angelic or beyond, are a mix of frequencies. Each has its range of possibilities. Each evolves as a result of interacting with its environment. Each is unique unto itself, even though it shares traits with all others of like kind.

What Incarnates?

Every human is an Eternal having a worldly experience. All of us humans are a combination of material, emotional, mental, and spiritual frequencies inhabiting a body with feelings and a mind. And each eternal consciousness is a unique emanation of Light within an infinite field of limitless Light.

What incarnates? We created causes, or skandas, each time our Eternal Self has dipped into matter. These are the patterns as they exist in the birth chart. In that sense we each inhabit our own frequency which blends with many other frequencies.

It is said the akashic records record our incarnations. That implies we live the akashic records every day because we write the book of life and karma each day. The part we play in the larger Life is what we call Dharma/Tao. We ARE the dream and playing our Dharmic role, which is unique to our Eternal Self.

We cannot incarnate as anything other than we are. If consciousness is vibratory emanation, then we can only incarnate as the awareness we ARE. We cannot reincarnate at a lower or more unconscious frequency any more than we can reincarnate at a cosmic level of omniscient frequency.

We cannot reincarnate as a mosquito because we are not of the mosquito consciousness frequency. The animal realm contains both evolved and unevolved species, as well as individual units within species. Basically, the animal realm has group souls, where evolved creatures individualize their awareness on parallel but different frequencies than most humans are aware of.

That’s why some animals seem to have independent spirits and higher level awareness and communication skills. Certain species have a greater aptitude for individualization than others, such as cats, horses, dogs, elephants and dolphins. However, within nonindividualized group souls there are still evolutionary leaps. An example of this is that I made friends with many large wild hares as well as cottontails when I lived in the Tucson desert, feeding them every day. Now I live in another place, and was adopted by a wild cottontail who has ears which are more like a hare than a rabbit! So perhaps that part of the hare group soul has returned to visit in bunny form for more carrots and human interaction.

We cannot be the incarnation of Hitler or Gandhi because those frequencies are already occupied by those consciousnesses. They had their habits, their skandas, and their frequencies of awareness. And like us, at some point those consciousnesses formerly known as Hitler and Gandhi will become embodied once again when the star patterns perfectly reflect who they were and what lessons they need to grow in awareness in the next incarnation.

So Why do We Reincarnate?

Our eternal nature is loving wise intelligence. We incarnate to make our love of life real and tangible. We can taste a great meal; we can touch the beloved and look into their eyes and feel the electricity we share. We can smell flowers and see the beauty of mountains and seas.

Each incarnation is an experiment of growth in awareness. But we can never be unaware of that which we are aware of. Awareness is a one way street, in that it is infinitely expansive. Once we are aware of "ahamkara," or "I consciousness," we can never reincarnate as a non-individualized entity, like a mosquito.

Speaking of what reincarnates, about 20 years ago I was sitting with a small group when HH Dalai Lama was taking questions. One of this students challenged the concept of any permanence of the aggregates of incarnation. His Holiness did definitely state that despite the apparent impermanence of all aggregates, there is something which reincarnates which is not dependent on the aggregates but which attracts the aggregates.

That created quite a stir among his Tibetan Buddhist students, who got VERY agitated! All I could do was smile, because if all is consciousness of infinite frequencies, and the Law of Magnetic Attraction works with Economy of Energy to Synthesize everything within the One Life, then how could anything ever not be "true to itself" within the whole as it exists in its unique position in eternity?

The Vast Scope of A Greater Light Field

As I offered earlier, each eternal consciousness is a unique emanation of Light within an infinite field of limitless Light. We’re beings of light, with some shining very brightly, while others are somewhat dimmer bulbs. However, even they will eventually remove their inner blocks to be the luminous radiance of their Higher Self.

Once upon a time, long ago in 1974, I was given a look into eternity and the infinite Light field of our cosmic system. What I saw was infinite strings of Lights, all glowing and shining, interconnected and weaved together by a “unison of harmony” of pulsing Lights which I called “the String of Pearls.

I tried to find a way to describe it in a song, which is woefully inadequate in comminicating what I saw. Here are a couple of verses:

Solar systems, moving worlds, eyes seeing through space and time
Everything exactly as it should be, my will has become thine
All doubts dispelled before they rise with clarity like a knife
Cutting through illusions, merest specks in the ocean of life

Light comes from many sources, who knows from where it comes
When we complete each journey we’ve find we’ve just begun

Yes, I’ve seen countless worlds moving all in place
Spinning across galaxies, passing through inner space
With all my questions instantly answered, where never was known strife
Do you realize that you’re the merest speck in the ocean of life?

When I did my multiple "journeys into eternities" I experienced that beyond the "Cosmic Physical" plane there are other higher planes which are infinitely expansive. If solar systems die and are reborn, then all things within those systems "die" and "are reborn."

Our infinite awareness attracts what it does when it does to emanate that consciousness both in this body and others; once we were in the animal realm; one day we may be a planetary consciousness, a "Gaia" unto ourselves embodying a planet.

Some will become Suns, "superstars how right you are and we all shine on and on and on and on...." The mystery of reincarnating awareness is perhaps the greatest eternal adventure of them all.
