What is financial freedom?

Does financial freedom simply mean having a surplus, when you subtract expenses from your income level?

Does financial freedom simply boil down to budgeting, savings and monthly spreadsheets?

Many of us have been on the search for financial freedom, ever since reading the book, Rich Dad Poor Dad, by Robert Kiyosaki. We go about this search by attending workshops and participating in schemes to help us “make money quick”. We become focused on getting our computations right.

Well, if you have merely understood financial freedom at this level, you could have missed out on its deeper meaning altogether. Sure, the accounting aspect is important but it is just one factor in the whole idea of financial freedom.

Through my journey, I made the important discovery that true financial freedom is more than just having dollars and cents. Additionally, I found out that if we can integrate both our financial and spiritual (including mental and emotional) lives together, we will begin to experience greater freedom and fulfilment

Your state of internal freedom affects your external reality. And so, if you are hoping for total financial freedom, don’t forget to address what is going on from the inside.
