Often times, the feelings that modalities cannot affect are staying intact to teach you deeper aspects of an evolutionary process.

Such feelings can withstand any degree of avoidance, negotiation, and distraction until you allow something that may not match your personal desires to show you something more meaningful about the journey you are on.

If you focus on the feeling and say, "I'm done fighting with you, please show me the gift I'm here to receive", you might be pleasantly surprised. Even just say it once and, if needed, give it time to open up.

This is the profound difference between trying to heal something and allowing it to transform.
