Terrestrials
They rise up
from the forest mold,
bidden by the sun of a higher
arc to unfold.
You can miss them,
standing in plain sight,
if you wander past unabsorbed
by the surrounding presence.
But if you do, absorb
this presence, they speak.
A hieroglyph the mind cannot
plumb, so ultraviolet is its frequency.
Still, you understand.
They are among you. Here.
Like the coral animals who forest
the cerulean seas of this plane.
No spaceship landing
to take them elsewhere,
these otherworldly creatures
of earth; just here, like us, for a spell.
