Challis
Holding
much.
Yet
light
as light.
Bearing
night, long
shadows,
tenderly.
A night
that never
sleeps, only
dreams.
Altering
shape, this
holding, its
contours,
breath
unto
breath.
Drop
upon
drop.
As it
lives.
Unfinished
as a forest,
glacier, a
poem.
And as
complete.
Slaking
the whole
with its
fire, its
stone,
winds
wild,
water,
ethers.
Drink.
Swallow.
Let it
imbue
those
places
wonting
fullness,
release.
There are
rainbows
harbored
in these
veins.
Ruby,
flame,
gold,
moss,
seas,
night,
violets
swathing
meadows.
Prisms
of light
gleaned
beyond
what
can
be
seen.
Worlds
composing
worlds.
Painting on
alabaster,
on coal,
on air.
Holy this
moment
of making.
Sip
by
sip.
Sheltering
potential
in utero,
this grail.
Time as
amnios,
humus,
compost,
menstruum,
nectar.
As
me.
You.
God.
Life.
Born
each
breath.
Ever
anew,
ever an
end.
One
cup,
so many
stars.
