Holiday Pampering Time - 7 Ideas to Show Yourself Some Love
- Details

Holidays are the time of the year when you should be doing something nice not just for the people you love but for yourself, too. It's a perfect opportunity to give yourself some pampering time - you have been working hard all year, so why not give yourself some treats?
If you need some ideas, here are the ones that could really improve your mood and put a smile on your face:
1.Prepare yourself a relaxing bath
This is one the most cost-expensive things you can do for yourself at home. Prepare everything for a wonderful bath time - make sure the water temperature is between 34-36 degrees to completely relax your body, especially your muscles. Next, get your favorite bath products that will soothe your body, or energize it, if that's what you need. Lavender soothes all of your senses, while sea salt does wonders for your skin. Some herbal baths are excellent for muscle relaxation. If you want extra sensory pleasure, have a glass of your favorite drink in the bath, whether it’s wine or herbal tea.
2.Spoil your skin
Your skin is your protective armor and it's also the first one that reacts to the negative changes in your body. In other words, it deserves your attention, especially during the winter.
There are plenty of ways you can treat your skin at home. You can make your own natural skin treatments for moisturizing your skin, doing a thorough scrub or applying a nurturing face mask. You will only need a couple of ingredients from the kitchen and maybe a few products from the store.
On the other hand, you can pay a visit to a skincare professional. Cosmetologists or dermatologists are the ones what your skin really needs, so even a treatment or two can do wonders and make you look younger and refreshed.
3. Join a walk/run club
Don't think for a second that additional physical activity is not a present. Physical activity makes you produce more endorphins, which are responsible for your good mood. Moreover, it helps you burn extra calories and stay fit. But maybe the best part of it is being able to meet new people. By joining a run or a walk club, you will meet other enthusiasts who enjoy being active, especially if they get to be active outside. It's easier to stay motivated when other people are supporting you. It will also prevent you from becoming too passive during cold, wintery months.
4. Meditate
This may sound weird but the "skill" of meditation is one of the best presents you could give to yourself. The benefits of occasional solitude and being able to "switch off" from the reality are numerous. Meditation brings you physical, mental and spiritual benefits but it is not a skill that is easily developed. It takes time to learn how to focus on a single object, an image or a word repeated silently. If you simply sit down for a bit, close your eyes and be quiet for a few minutes, that doesn't mean you know how to meditate. The gift of meditation means giving yourself patience and time to develop this skill. In time, you will start noticing progress and benefits, which will make you feel proud of yourself and you'll feel motivated to move on.
5. Create spa setting at home
Having a spa day doesn't necessarily mean spending a lot of money somewhere. You can arrange your own spa day at home; you just need to make a bit of effort. Start with buying several aromatherapy oils, fluffy slippers and scented candles. These are all gifts under $50, so you won't have to invest much. You could also give yourself a facial treatment, use a new nail polish and end it with a luxurious body butter to completely spoil your body and your senses. End the day watching your favorite movie wrapped in your bathrobe or a warm, fluffy blanket.
6. Power of a good massage
Massage of the whole body or a specific body part is incredibly relaxing and beneficial to your physical and mental health. It helps you get rid of the excess stress that you feel both in your muscles and your head.
You could treat yourself by buying a Shiatsu neck and back massager, for example. This type of massager even has a heat-infused property and usually comes with several kneading rollers and speeds to help you get rid of the tension while sitting comfortably in your home. You can take it to another level by buying a massage chair. Choose the right massage chair for your needs and you don’t have to leave home to experience great massage.
7. Swing yourself into relaxation mood
Maybe you can't spend too much time outside during the cold months but it doesn't mean you can't create a cozy corner in your home. If you enjoy a good book or simply love having a comfortable spot for simply daydreaming, then spoil yourself with a hammock or an indoor chair swing. Complete it with soft, fluffy cushions and you will instantly create your favorite spot at your home.
Final words
Holidays are all about giving, so don't think you deserve to give yourself something, too. Just like everybody else, you should love yourself and treat yourself with kindness.
