Body and Mind: 7 Ways to Clear Your Mind so You Can Care for Your Body

Body and Mind: 7 Ways to Clear Your Mind so You Can Care for Your Body

Finding the time to clear out our minds and thus take care of our bodies is imperative in today’s world. If we fail to neglect one or the other, we risk being overwhelmed, stressed, unhappy and ultimately not healthy. Dare to clear your mind right and om your body.

1 Dare to press the Power Off button

We are constantly available and online. It has its perks because you can easily find an activity for your Saturday afternoon and send an invite to a friend. But, we often fail to realize that constant availability keeps us from our interests, hobbies, and peace of mind. So, dare to press the Power Off button. Keep every piece of equipment in your reach off. If you can’t handle the thought of not answering your mom’s phone call, we can make an exception here and suggest you put your phone on vibrate. But, turn your Internet connection off and leave your phone in the hallway. Learn to enjoy me-time without ypur phone or the laptop screen.

2 Examine the physical space

Examine the physical space

Even when we’re so used to jumping over the gym back left in the hallway, it doesn’t mean that it’s okay. Even if you learn to navigate the clutter without breaking something or sustaining an injury (because you tripped over that aforementioned gym bag) it doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t examine your physical place. Clear space allows the energy to flow easily through your home and invite positive energy, the cluttered place does the exact opposite. Find the time to properly organize your space so you can enjoy the mental benefits of a clutter-free space.

3 Do a mental detox

Clear your mind to do a mental detox. One of the popular techniques used to free the mind from unnecessary mental clutter is meditation. Find refuge in your own mediation nook to focus on proper breathing and detoxing your thoughts. You can combine the relaxation of the mind with the relaxation of the body by using a massage chair. When you reach that total relaxed state of your body and your mind, your thoughts will follow. You can also practice visual mediation and try to visualize things you wish to achieve. After a while, this type of meditation will be your preferred choice of relaxation and mental detox.

4 Do a body detox

When you put your focus on the body, your mind benefits directly. First of all, embrace movement as an indispensable element of a happy mind. Exercise to reduce stress, clear out mental clutter and brain fog and detox your body. Even the energetic morning walk can be beneficial for the day ahead and energy levels. You can also choose something vigorous like strength training or HIIT to reap the health benefits. Drink lots of fluids and substitute one coffee for a green tea. Get into regular dry brushing practices and regular Epsom salt baths.

5 Don’t work on weekends

When stress is accumulated in our bodies for long periods of time, we experience painful sensation throughout our entire bodies. It can feel like each bone in our body aches. This is often followed by a lack of energy and a bad mood. So, try to reduce stress and clear your mind by making your weekends about you and only you. Don’t work over the weekends because the lack of free time is the road to burnout. Spend your time on things you don’t have time over the workdays. Go to an art exhibit. Take a walking tour of your city. Go see a friend who lives in a nearby town. Take the grind off of your mind so you’ll be happier and joyous.

6 Fill your home with soothing senses

Our smell is a powerful tool so we should stimulate it to clear the mind. Aromatherapy is something every one of us should embrace with open arms and an open mind. Mint, lemon, lavender, and peppermint scents are ideal for any home. Diffuse them to feel their calming benefits.

7 Read and read often

People feel like they don’t have the time in their day to read. In reality, they do have time, but they spend it glued to their phones. Embrace daily reading as one of the activities that can clear your mind. Aim to get at least 30 minutes of reading time into your day, no matter how busy you are.

These seven activities can be just what you need to start taking care of your min. When you clear your mind, your body will benefit and you’ll feel lighter and more energized.
