Aspects, Evolutionary Configurations, and More.

As I’ve told you before, we’ve just been through a month of “saying goodbye quickly,” and now we can see the Light of “life and death processes” to find wisdom as we prepare for a fracturing in the near future. We’ve now found a measure of peace at what has ended, and now can release pressure and begin “tearing ourselves away from the known and familiar, gambling everything on a dream.”

This Full Moon fulfills the Libra New Moon themes, which means we’ve been finding healing as we find new ways to understand and communicate. Be patient as you finish “paying dues” or realize you finished paying dues by what you were willing to let go of in the past 4 weeks.

We’ve been integrating our lives in crucial ways while learning how to maintain dignity in the face of sudden internal or external eruptions. This helps us make crucial decisions and clear out what we no longer want or need. We’re still going through a “genuine rejuvenation” and life renewal as well as find a deeper connection to Source.

We have a LOT of friction these next two weeks courtesy of the Grand Cardinal Cross setting a lot of conflicting energies into motion! We have the Full Moon square Mars AND square Pluto with Mars opposing Pluto. This requires great discipline and the ability to get around passive and/or actively aggressive people, or forces which want to blow things off course. Clean out, clear out, purify, see to the core, concentrate, and flow as you finish what must be finished.

Evolutionary Configurations

This month we have four evolutionary configurations, two involving the Lunation and two involving Mars. This month the configurations are:

1) The Moon opposed the Sun are both square Mars and Pluto which are opposed to each other, creating a Grand Cardinal Cross configuration affecting the last decan of Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn and the area of 8-15 degrees of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces. This requires “right action” as multiple conflicting forces all push and pull, each in its own way dominant in its area, creating friction which is fracturing that which cannot hold together. Take the productive actions you need to, since there are special conditions promised by Venus.

2) The Moon is biquintile Venus and the Sun is decile Venus. This fills 3 points of a “10 Pointed Star of Quintessential Serendipity” promising unique circumstances and gifts. The decile is a partly-developed quintile, while the tredecile is a uniquely interactive relationship bringing gifts perfect for our circumstances and circumstances perfect for our gifts. Areas most affected include 1-3 Sagittarius/Gemini, 5-9 Capricorn/Cancer, 11-15 Aquarius/Leo, 17-21 Pisces/Virgo, 23-27 Aries/Libra, and 29-30 Taurus/Scorpio. If you have something in one of these zones, except specialized circumstances, gifts, and blessings these next two weeks.

3) Mars is sextile Uranus, trine Neptune, and opposition Pluto. This creates a “four note chord of harmonic productivity” for any planets or points we have in the late degrees of Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, and Pisces.

The harmony built through this configuration can be released by Mars and Pluto through the signs occupied by the Moon and Sun. And because the Moon and Sun show specialization via Venus, those gifts can be released through Mars and Pluto. (Mainly through Mars since Pluto is a transpersonal invisible influence.) Of note is that Venus is still sextile Pluto and trine Neptune, creating a secondary configuration with the same energies.

4) Mars is elftile Jupiter and quadrelftile Saturn with Jupiter trielftile Saturn. This creates three points of an “11 Pointed Star of the Mastery of Duality Through Faith.” As these planets work out in the social-cultural dimensions of life as they find spiritual purpose in shaping their expression, it would seem we have to have a lot of faith these next two weeks that whatever is aggravating, agitating, or oppressing us in the socio-cultural realm can be overcome by patience, a sense of humor and vision, and a degree of self-discipline as we get a grip on self-indulgent energy, either our own or another’s.

A special nod is given to Mercury biseptile Mars, Venus biseptile Saturn, and the Sun triseptile Neptune, as each of these 7th harmonic aspects creates “fork in the road” conditions where they fall in the chart. These together create almost 100 degrees of influence across 21 zones which include all signs.

Major Aspects

Besides the various aspects I gave you related to the evolutionary configurations, forming (or partile separating) inner planet aspects include the Moon novile Saturn and elftile Uranus; Mercury is quindecile Venus, sesquisquare Jupiter, trine Saturn, quadranovile Uranus, and biquintile Neptune; Venus is quadranovile Jupiter; and the Sun is sesquisquares Saturn and quincunx Uranus.

Outer planet aspects include Mars making only those aspects already mentioned; Jupiter is quindecile Uranus; Saturn is semisquare Pluto; and Uranus is sextile Neptune and Neptune is in the closest sextile with Pluto in 30 years!

Friction comes from 1 semisquare, 2 squares, 2 sesquisquares, and 1 quincunx. Semisquares are internal friction at the beginning or end of a cycle, and to me represent the irritating metaphoric “grain of sand” in the oyster of our lives which creates a pearl or awareness.

Squares are integrative, while sesquisquares are interactive, annoying and/or agitating, but not necessarily crisis producing. A quincunx always represents an adjust or sacrifice of some sort. Just remember to decrease aggravation when a frictional aspect is in play.

This month’s aspects: In the series related to destiny and “fate,” we find 2 biseptiles and 1 triseptile. In the 9th harmonic series related to spiritual realizations, we have 1 novile and 2 quadranoviles. In the 11th harmonic series related to spiritual realizations, we have 2 elfiles, 1 trielftile, and 1 quadrelftile. The specializing aspect series provides us with 2 quindeciles, 1 decile, and 1 biquintile.

For those new to the craft, quintiles and biquintiles are 5th harmonic aspects, septiles and triseptiles are 7th harmonic aspects, noviles are 9th harmonic aspects, deciles (semi-quintiles) and tredeciles are 10th harmonic aspects. The elftile series are 11th harmonic aspects, the quindecile is a 15th harmonic aspect, and the vigintile is a 20th harmonic aspect. Each of these has a unique function in the phase relationship of the two planets in aspect.

The 5th, 10th, 15th, and 20th harmonic aspects are specializing and bring forth partially or fully developed quintessential elements of the planets involved. The novile (9th harmonic), septile (7th harmonic) and elftile (11th harmonic) series all feature spiritual aspects. All novile series (9th harmonic) aspects represent entry or exit points of periods of gestation which can bring forth possible spiritual developments. These aspects indicate things which need to be put on the shelf for a while, or that which has been gestating can now move forward. They represent gestative energies that can lead to great spiritual realizations.

Septile series aspects represent forks in the road of destiny, where we make choices determining karmic future developments. This series is ruled by Saturn, where we create and fulfill karma by our choices during those phase shifts. The 11th harmonic elftile series aspects involve situations where there is a need to transcend and master some form of duality by making a leap of faith. In transcending those dualistic situations, dilemmas, challenges, and thinking, we resolve the problem and learn techniques of mastering those sorts of dualities in the future. This series tests our faith. Both the 7th and 11th series involve non-rational aspect values, bringing an element of irrationality in behavior and circumstances.

The various aspects in all these different harmonic series indicate points where the theme of the Whole Cycle becomes clear, whether through major developments or minor refinements in the process. Each aspect shows a phase relationship, specific to the special and unique circumstances of that particular Whole Cycle. It's how we can know when to work, when to play, when to create, when to imagine, when to have faith, and when to mobilize!

The Eclipse Factor

We’ve had a long run of eclipses which continue to affect us. In 2020 we had a Solstice Solar eclipse at 1 Cancer and a December Solar eclipse at 24 Sagittarius. In 2021 we had a June Solar eclipse at 20 Gemini and a December Solar eclipse at 13 Sagittarius. In 2022, we had an April Solar eclipse at 11 Taurus, a May Wesak Festival Lunar eclipse at 26 Scorpio, an October Solar eclipse at 2 Scorpio and a November Total Lunar eclipse at 17 Taurus.

In 2023, we had an April Solar eclipse at 30 Aries, a May Wesak Festival Lunar eclipse at 15 Taurus/Scorpio, an October Solar eclipse at 22 Libra, and an October Lunar eclipse at 6 Taurus/Scorpio. This year we just had an April Solar eclipse at 20 Aries, and this Wesak Festival Full Moon at 5 Taurus/Scorpio. As I explained in earlier articles, all the Lunar eclipses work over just a few months, while Solar eclipse effects last for years.

As you know, I see all eclipses as “cosmic recyclers” removing what we no longer need in the houses where they occurred. All these Solar eclipses, along with others, have allowed us to “shed skins” wherever we have 9, 19, and 30 Pisces, 28 Aquarius, 29 Leo, 10 Virgo, and 21 Virgo, as well as the degrees of the recent eclipses at 1 Cancer, 24 Sagittarius, 20 Gemini, 20 and 30 Aries, 11 and 22 Libra and 13 Sagittarius. As you can see, that involves a large part of our charts! You can find out which Solar eclipses are still showing effects by referring to Astrology in October 2024 - On The Threshold of an Annular Solar Eclipse at 11 Libra which lists which eclipses are done and which are still in play (other parts which followed elaborate on the current eclipse.) That list has links to all Solar eclipses for the past 13 years.

A good meditation would be to take a look back at how something related to those points in your chart ended after those eclipses, and examine how new events, new people, and new life experiences came in those chart areas. All our losses of the past few years associated with these signs have left voids which have attracted, are attracting, or will attract life contents more appropriate to who we are now. Alternately, you may be feeling a void because someone else really isn’t there. Now it’s time to turn to what will nourish you.

Element Balance

This Full Moon continues a “balanced imbalance” with Water again in the forefront. At this time of the traditional 10 planets, there are 5 planets in Water signs, 1 in Fire, 2 in Earth, and 2 in Air. This makes Water (Feelings and Experiencing Life on Deep Levels) preponderant with a balance of Earth (Practicality and Grounding) and Air (Relatedness and Communications) with very little Fire (Inspiration and Light). Still, with Moon and Mars in mutual reception, the Lunar Fire will play a part in how Mercury and Venus manifest and is a release for both Mars and Pluto.

Air and Earth are “cool” elements, while Fire and Water are “hot” elements. With this distribution, it’s more hot than cool. This should be good for moving with the flow as we find practical ideas and fairly good connections to be made.

The current sequence at present of Deciding, Feeling, and Thinking

We’ve been through several different sequences over the past few months. There are six patterns, and each has their strengths and weaknesses. This continues the New Moon pattern.

For now, as a process of moving through events, the most effective “firing sequence” for approaching life and experience over the next four weeks involves beginning activity with deciding, then thinking, then feeling.

This will help us all to get it in gear, make decisions, and act on those decisions. Once we do our decision or action, these will lead us to a new understanding or vision on the basis of the action. Once we get the understanding, communication, or vision, then we must learn to sit with the feelings and experience them, and get clear about what we’re feeling and why.

So lead with deciding and acting, then move into a vision or understanding, and then name what you’re feeling. That way nothing will get bottled up through underuse, and you can move through experiences with power and clarity.

What do you have to do? Find your vision or understanding you need to execute that decision. Are your actions leading you to the understanding you need? When you find your understanding, then take time to feel the process so you can use the flow to take you into the next decisions and actions.

Saturn: Spiritual Master, Spiritual Friend

Because of its dance with Jupiter, Uranus, and Pluto for months to come, Saturn is a major player in creating dynamic change through letting go of the past, finding a new inspiration and whatever “camouflage” we might need to do our destiny, and rethinking how we use our will power as we continue to receive what nourishment we need. Saturn is bringing us important Piscean lessons wherever we have mid-Pisces in our charts, and important decisions to planets we have in the middle degrees of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces.

Saturn has led us through a major life renewal since June 2023, so continue to follow that compassionate understanding because we must release all we cannot take into the Saturn in Aries phase beginning next year. Saturn brings maturity and structure to Pisces, and so is teaching us to open to the Grace which comes from forgiveness coupled with gratitude. Let go, let God, and let it flow down the timestream.

Saturn, our “spiritual teacher and spiritual friend” in Pisces brings an ocean of water to our Capricorn/Aquarius sectors and any natal or progressed planets we have in those signs. Though Saturn can accompany heavy lessons, it is the part of us which can take charge of our lives and destiny by using Saturn’s virtues in the right way and time. Our ability to steer our “ship of personality” into our higher destiny brings us new parts to play on the stage of Life.

We’re still in a long wave period of saying goodbye to old roles and embracing newer more effective roles to play in the emergent Aquarian era. We continue to master navigating the fogs and illusions of Pisces, finding understanding, Divine Grace, and spiritual power in forgiveness and steering the process of closing out old ways as they present themselves.

We’ll have Saturn quintile Uranus for many months to come, so enjoy the dance of specialization between what has been and what’s emerging. As Saturn gives us a review of the past at this time, Uranus brings us to a threshold of a major life renewal, with major effects to be found in planets we have near 26-30 Taurus, 8-12 Leo, 20-24 Libra, 2-6 Capricorn, and 14-18 Pisces. Unique gifts and blessings bridging past and future are shown for those zones!

Summing it Up

Having “said goodbye quickly” to various things and people this past month, we now get to understand the passages from a deeper and wider understanding even as we navigate the friction and fracturing of the coming Grand Cardinal Cross. Keep steady, find your inner equilibrium to get through the next two weeks, and if in doubt, show patience in all things.

This is a season of leaving things behind once we realize “the center has given way” and there’s no more magnetism holding certain things together. While there are interactive gifts and blessings to be had, and certainly a lot of healing is taking place thanks to whatever has been removed by both the Lunar and Solar eclipse this past month, it’s still a tense time filled with friction.

Find confidence through concentration and self-discipline, and try not to allow things to escalate out of proportion to the circumstances. Enthusiasm needs to be focused without getting agitated that too much is going on. Find the right balance between mind, feelings, and body, intensify your quest by surrendering to the flow, and see how the past is feeding the future in the Now.

With Mars in its shadow zone, get as much done as you can, stay connected with Source, and honor your deep feelings which connect you to all Beings. This is a time of enhanced “non-local awareness” as we navigate some temporarily calm waters.

See the deeper elements in Nature teaching you about life passages, quicken to the promise which will be fulfilled in the Spring, and accept the power while also understanding that enlightenment is a verb rather than a noun, and it can be found in relative comfort as well as austerity. Pay no attention to the confusion, dread, or uncertainty as you find the “cloak” you need to go into the world so you are not exposed to the destructive elements now raging.

We’re definitely in the Jupiter in Gemini era as it reviews its path since the Spring. Keep opening to new ideas, revolutionary approaches, and seeing new angles of understanding. This month Jupiter provides balance and shows revelations through why people and things had to be released in the recent past. Jupiter in Gemini helps us see things from many different points of view, find a sense of humor and perspective, and how to imitate to learn and grow.

With so much Pisces and Scorpio, we’re finishing an old collective mindset as the seeds of the future Aquarian global energies sprout. With Saturn and Neptune in Pisces keep cultivating compassion while letting the past flow down the time stream. Keep deepening your connection with your spiritual Brothers and Sisters.

Since January 1 we’ve begun movement into a new world, and been forced to give up lesser things as a greater life presented itself. With each coming year, we’ll see definite movement away from the ideas which dominated the old 200 year Earth Era and see more of the emergent 200 year Air Era launched at the December 2020 Solstice.

This transitional period requires that we ask ourselves certain questions related to our spiritual purpose, fearless as we are One with the World Soul and walk through the world but are not “of” the world. We have been finding new inner strengths and powers the past four years, and learned the spiritual power of gratitude which brought assistance from Devas and Angels. We’re now in a time of imagining new ways to be who we are while serving a greater good.

Forgiving much with compassion for the generic human condition, we are being released from all which doesn’t serve our momentum into our greater purpose. This is the heart of a global acceleration in transforming those who are part of a greater service and group work. Embrace a new identity, a new love, a new spiritual awareness, and a new spiritual expression in grounded ways, so keep your mind and heart open and keep coordinating your body, feelings, and mind to demonstrate a stable and harmonized Soul energy. That's a great part to play as we dance through life's changes!

A Meditation on Light and Shadow

Because life seems to be a never-ending experience of out-breathing elements of the past and in-breathing elements of the new, it is useful to remember that when we are moving through major changes, and something new is introduced into our lives, it means that something else must leave, or has already left, to provide space for the new to be embraced. And lesser wisdom must give way to greater wisdom, and old forms give way to newer realities. As I’ve offered before “enlightenment” is a verb more than it is a noun.

While sometimes having to say goodbye to older, lesser ways of life can be a drag, it is important to remember that even though life can occasionally be painful, we do not have to suffer. And as we learn to break the link between pain and suffering, we heal our part of humanity and the world.

We are Light. All things are composed of Light in various frequencies that express as limitless forms. Some light frequencies are of greater density than others.

All shadows result from light hitting a dense object. Psychological shadows too. Therefore, it’s good to become as translucent and translucid as possible to dispel lurking shadows.

If you must look at and/or deal with shadows, whether your own or another’s, then refocus your Light on the object being illuminated, since that form is the source of the shadow.

Find the correct 4 angles of illuminating whatever you want to focus on, and all shadows will be dispelled. Then you’re seeing things with an illuminated mind, and can act accordingly.
