Sabian Symbols Showing the Light of Peaceful Reflection
Expressed in the Dignity Found In Ending Toxic Relationships.
This coming Full Moon is the twenty-third since the December 2020 Solstice conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn at 1 Aquarius which launched new 20 and 200 year eras. This one helps us synthesize many things into a more comprehensive overview of our position in the bigger picture, and helps us understand a more beautiful life ideal.
I’ll speak more about the bigger picture after the Sabian Symbols. For now, let’s take a closer look at this reconstructive, initiating, harmonizing and stabilizing Lunation which makes it easy to see why we needed to eliminate some people and behaviors from our lives so we could find a new perspective on relationships which serve our emerging Aquarian role. This helps us see “the Light of Reconstruction,” and opens the door to cleaning up karma through positive actions in letting go of all toxic relationships, or restoring the balance and harmony of relationships which went off the rails a while ago. This begins a time of rising to some occasion which will expand us, and show us our “indomitability.”
As the Full Moon fulfills the themes of the previous New Moon, we can use the power of weighing and comparing many points of view with an eye to integrating the pieces into something spiritual. See the humor when you can, and listen to the inner voice of the Truth and Wisdom which has gestated deep within before now.
This is a time when many parts can be seen from the angle of the whole, and minor adjustments made to harmonize all the parts. Add that Mercury is helping us see to the core of things, and it indicates a fairly harmonious time when we can see the truth while opening to more pleasing and fulfilling interactions than the ones we’ve left behind.
The Sun in Air and the Moon in Fire shows a time of the Cardinal Air (associative interactivity) of Libra expressing its refined ideal view through the Cardinal Fire (Inspiration) of Aries. Because Libra is so strong and Mercury’s now direct, we should be able to find a harmony of balanced interactive activity as we take measured steps, anticipating the future. This continues a run of Full Moon themes of getting clear on the actional and material levels of our existence.
At this time, 1 planet is in the first third of their signs, 5 planets are in the second third of their signs, and 4 planets are in the last third of their signs. This indicates a huge emphasis on the social/emotional and individual, mental, and spiritual field, with only Jupiter activating the actional-material field. This will be an extraordinary socially spiritualizing next two weeks!
Why Are Full Moons So Important?
At a Full Moon, that which has opened since the previous New Moon surfaces in a public form, and heads toward the culmination and fruition symbolized by the second half of any cycle. First half, birth into form and field. Second half, culmination and completion of the purpose of that cycle.
That’s why it’s important to regard the New and Full Moon charts as “God’s Footprints in Time,” since one follows the other in an unending sequence of births of newer and newer seeds. The New Moons show us the seeds that will flourish under the reflected light of the Full Moon.
Full Moons heighten feelings, due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun. We are now in a time of the year when the inner planets have made their oppositions to Pluto, Saturn, and Neptune, with the last opposition to Jupiter by Mercury, with only the oppositions to Uranus to come. This chart features two forming oppositions along one and a half axes of “the Tension of Opposites.” We have the Moon opposed the Sun generating awareness encompassing the area between 15-19 Aries/Libra, and Mercury opposed Jupiter out of sign, generating a field of awareness between 27 Virgo/Pisces to 3 Libra/Aries. These areas and planets are the drivers of our “awareness generator” for the coming two weeks.
Dispositors - What's the Backdrop to the Energies?
The Sun is in Libra, making Venus in its home sign of Libra the ruler of the Sun. The Moon is in Aries, making Mars its ruler. Mars is in Gemini, making Mercury in its home sign of Virgo its ruler. So this Full Moon brings us back to four final dispositors, those being Mercury, Venus, Saturn, and Neptune. Jupiter is in Aries, making Mars and finally Mercury its ruler.
Moving out, Saturn in Aquarius rules itself, Uranus in Taurus is ruled by Venus, and Pluto in Capricorn is ruled by Saturn. As usual, Neptune is a “standalone” planet, ruling itself. That means the four “final dispositors” rule all the planets.
By looking at how “chains of dispositors,” “final dispositors,” and “mutual reception” are in play between the planets, we get a clear picture of the backdrop for how each planet operates. You can find out more about dispositors in general, chains of dispositors, and mutual reception by going to Astrology Class – What Is A Dispositor and What Is Mutual Reception Between Two Planets?
The Magic of Venus: Friendships, Soul Mates, and Twin Flames
Venus is a strong force because it rules the Sun from its home sign, is the planet which “leads the Light,” and is in an extremely fortunate Grand Air trine with the Sun, Mars, and Saturn. This is an extraordinarily powerful configuration, and promises Venusian harmony and balance in many areas of life these next two weeks.
If you want to know more about how to shape your Venus power to attract better friends and relations in the future, please consider getting your copy of my new book The Magic of Venus: Friendships, Soul Mates, and Twin Flames. It is the most comprehensive book on Venus ever written, and explains why we attract who we do and how to create more satisfying relationships in the future. You will understand the foundations of long term healthy relationships and friendships, why Soul Mates come into our lives, and learn how to shape your attractive power to have happy relationships in the future. Even if you’re not looking for a partner, this book will explain why certain people with certain traits came into your life and what they taught you about yourself.
It has chapters on the qualities of each sign’s natural mate, the qualities of Venus in each sign, and when crucial choices and changes are made, affecting who we attract in the future. It was written for both astrologers and lay people, and as it has a thousand gems for better relationships, with self, others, and Source, please consider getting your copy by going to the link above! (And when you’re done, please leave a review on Amazon, since it helps the book and all other books on astrology as well!)
The Sabian Symbols for the Full Moon
This Full Moon falls at 17 Libra and 17 Aries. It is said that the second third (decan) of any sign deals with the social and emotional levels of life, and as the Lunation is in the second decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of Aquarius and Leo.
Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the Lunation, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take. Though I’ve given you a sense of what this is about up to now, here’s where we go into detail.
The Solar Sabian symbol for the 17th degree of Libra is “A Retired Sea Captain.” In The Astrology of Personality, where Rudhyar uses the original Dr. Jones' class notes on the symbols, 17 Libra is said to be a symbol of “vicarious or mellow participation in life,” “transfer of activity from physical to mental,” “Self involvement in the past.”
InThe Astrological Mandala he says the keynote for this degree is “the capacity to gain an objective and calm understanding of human experiences in which one was once deeply involved.” He speaks of “peak experiences” and “crises overcome” in our need to “sail our ship through storms and still waters of consciousness… our ego crew in revolt. Now there is peace and quietude.”
He states this is about “overcoming of storms” and the “Calm mind beyond struggles and victories. He offers this falls in the span of Revelation and is the counterpoint in the action-physical level of the scene of Reconstruction in the Act of Group Integration.
Dr. Marc E. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, states that here we can find "an entirely personal enjoyment of reality," where we can sustain our world through "a completeness of self-consummation through a gift for bringing all prior factors of realization to focus in the present moment." Here we find security through making our peace with our diverse potentials.
He offers us the keyword RELAXATION. We are told when positive it indicates "an utter fidelity to the lessons learned from experience and a consequent unshakable poise in embarking on any new enterprise."
So the Light shines on old dramas we retired from in the past, as well as how current events may require our retirement in the future. This gives us a theme of looking back to see how we successfully dealt with battles and storms in our past so that we may remember we do not have to deal with certain dramas in the present.
This Sun position helps us see the connection between physical and mental activities, and reviewing and reflecting on what we can retire from versus work on repairing or reconstructing, and implies we will all quit some elements of our past, moving our understanding and involvement from physical to mental. Repair or reconstruct what needs these in rhythmic balanced activity, and take a moment to feel relief at retiring from those actions and people that you no longer need to be involved with. What or who do you need to withdraw from to feel peace?
The Lunar Sabian Symbol for the 17th degree of Aries is "Two prim spinsters.” In the original Jones class notes from The Astrology of Personality, Rudhyar says this is a degree of “poised and dispassionate outlook, involving either great dignity and integrity of self, or inability to live life fully”
In The Astrological Mandala he offers that this degree concerns "the ability to transform a natural lack of potency into poise and inner serenity.” He goes on to state that this deals with an inward approach to potency, accepting “a higher, nonbiological polarization.”
He says this symbol “reveals a contrasting potentiality of experience which can be seen to complement or polarize” the previous symbol, referring “to the value of a dignified inward withdrawal.” Rudhyar says it falls in the Span of Examination, and is the counterpoint degree in the Actional-physical level of the Scene of Potency in the Act of Differentiation.
Dr. Jones says this degree symbolizes "an entirely private sustainment of reality,” with “the two sides of self in an eternal pro and con, rejecting all outside judgments in the issue of everyday living and rejoicing in a complete insulation from the passing rewards as well as the unprofitable and self-diffusing superficialities of normal relationships.”
He offers us the keyword DIVORCEMENT. We are told that when positive, the degree is "an utter fidelity to self and all its special idealizations of its own capacities.”
These symbols imply that during the next two weeks the Light will lead us to a peaceful understanding of the old dramas we’ve overcome, expressed through insights into why we had to withdraw from some people and situations in the past, or what we now need to withdraw from with dignity. We may see the light of why it was better not to struggle with a person or situation because it opened a new life for us, or times when we turned inward and found a greater potency than previously. The Lunar degree will assists us in finding a new approach to issues of inner or outer space. This can give us insights into why we need to go inward rather than keep going in unfulfilling directions.
The Sun is in Libra, where we learn through visualizing an ideal and finding those who agree with our image of a better world, life, project, or any other thing which can be idealized. This helps us grow through actional forms of reconstructing something, whether to repair or just to see how things came to be. The Moon in Aries expresses our ideal and what’s being reconstructed in forms of active “becoming-ness,” with the symbol indicating this is done better through subtraction than addition. As the Lunar degree was where Uranus went retrograde in July 2014 and direct in December 2015, some of what comes up the next two weeks could be directly related to what awakened during that period and after.
We’re in an Era of Overlapping Capricorn and Aquarius Cycles
As you know by now, we had numerous important long wave conjunctions in January 2020 which were set into motion in March 2020, including a 12 year cycle and a 33 year cycle! Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto all made conjunctions in Capricorn in January and March 2020 which were activated by Mars in March 2020. Mars completed its run at its conjunction with Saturn at 1 Aquarius which also set long wave preliminary Aquarian structures into play which are expanding and currently taking shape.
That “Great Compression” of planets in early 2020 created a very crowded house in a very narrow span of degrees, impacting where we have late Capricorn for many years to come. Add the three conjunctions of Jupiter with Pluto as it transited back and forth over the January and March degree points, and we’ve had a lot of long wave Pluto energies expanded which will show effects over the next decade! If you’re wondering how this Great Compression and those to come will impact us, please check out the linked articles on the bottom of Part 1 of this series published yesterday.
The wave that began April 2020 and was given wings in December has taken clearer shape during the time Saturn occupied 7-14 Aquarius in 2021. During early 2021, Jupiter gave us an expansive view of all of Aquarius, and then passed through the Transfiguration Zone in late April and early May, again in early August when retrograde, and a final time in December, giving us three different experiences of “graduation into a new realm of Being” transforming our lives so we can see how we are related to other Light Beings in the collective field. We now get to enter a new promise of how we fit into the whole.
TransPluto, Divine Mother, and the Tests of Human Redemption
I’ve included this section for many years to keep you all aware of the workings of Divine Mother on our Earth in this Age in Transition. Rather than simply reprint it each month, I created this material as a separate article unto itself a while back which I’ve just updated. If you want to know more about the vast spiritual field coaxing us toward a great redemption of the promise of Life itself, please take a new look at TransPluto, Divine Mother, and the Spiritual Lessons of 2022. We have now entered a long period of getting over our prejudices and preconceptions, and approaching others from an angle of “the fellowship of humanity.”
*********
At the 2020 World Teacher Full Moon of Sun in Gemini and Moon in Sagittarius I gave you a universal prayer/meditation offered to us by the Tibetan Master D.K. in April 1945 at the end of the war. Tens of millions around the world do this prayer every Full Moon, tuning into the Whole which we ALL are together. I said it every day for many years, and still say it every Full Moon. (It was a real trip to see eyes suddenly open and/or lightbulbs go on over people’s heads when I did it countless times riding the NYC subways when I lived there in the early 80s!)
In 1976 I changed a few words to make it more universal. For your consideration,
The Great Invocation
From the point of Light within the mind of God
Let Light stream forth into the minds of All,
Let Light descend on EarthFrom the point of Love within the heart of God
Let Love stream forth into the hearts of All
May Christ return to EarthFrom the center where the Will of God is known
Let Purpose guide the little Wills of All
The Purpose which the Masters know and serveFrom the center which we call the Human Race
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.
Again, as I’ve offered you many times before, when you see the title "The Christ" if you are so inclined please substitute "World Teacher," "Bodhisattva," "Imam Madhi," "Krishna," “Kristos,” "Avalokiteshvara," "Maitreya," "Messiah," or any other term used to describe this Great Being. And if you substitute “Enlightened Ones” or “Wise Ones” for “Masters” I doubt it would offend anyone.
See you soon with part 3 covering aspects, planetary sequencing, and other important factors in this Full Moon.
