Sabian Symbols Showing the Light of Interdependence Expressed Through Spiritual Imagination.

As most of you know, the December 2020 Solstice conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn at 1 Aquarius launched new 20 and 200 year eras. This Full Moon Total eclipse is in play for the next 6 months, and will give us strength as we manage social and emotional energies into new forms of love.

With Mercury and Venus both retrograde, it’s back to the future!

I’ll speak more about the bigger picture after the Sabian Symbols. For now, let’s take a closer look at this Total Lunar eclipse Full Moon happening at 11:55 pm PDT on March 13 at 24 Pisces/Virgo which offer great depth connections and opportunities to cultivate telepathy. The next two weeks (and 6 months!) will strengthen our ability to love, and we’ll need closure in many things as we move into the long term Mars trine Saturn and sextile Uranus, bringing productivity to any activities ruled by planets we have in the late degrees of the Earth and Water signs.

As this Full Moon has Sun in Pisces and Moon in Virgo, the Light of a greater compassion and connection with collective consciousness can be expressed through Virgo’s humble and efficient willingness to serve. This is the Light of group feeling-connections and non-local awareness expressed through Divine discernment ordering or reordering what is. The Piscean Light of Grace can now be expressed through a Virgo practical service and humility.

Because the Full Moon fulfills the themes of the previous New Moon, this will bring the themes of the New Moon at 10 Pisces to fulfillment. By our expertise and love, we now have a greater strength in navigating the endings promised at this time which will accelerate with this Total eclipse. With this eclipse, we let go, let God, and release things which have been hanging out for a long time without a clear resolution. This Full Moon eclipse will help us find a fresh view and a “vibrant simplicity.”

Because Virgo/Pisces is the axis of the archetype of the Healer, Shaman, and Priest(ess), we can forgive much, bless much, and be good guides, steering ourselves and others out of old ways into new lives. This teaches us the ritual forms we need as we guide ourselves and others through “the dark night of the Soul” to reach the new day where we are reborn in some way.

We can see clearly what needs closure to achieve the most effective material, emotional, or mental health which can be attained. This is a 6 month period of self-adjustment as a prelude to a new life. Show gratitude for the Grace in play in your life.

The Sun in Water and the Moon in Earth shows a time of the Mutable Water (distributive feeling flow of experience) of Pisces expressing its unifying Light through the Mutable Earth (distributive practical service) of Virgo. This is the next in a run of Full Moons on the social and emotional levels in their signs, giving us techniques of how to educate and be educated on those levels.

At this time, 3 planets are in the first third of their sign, 2 planets are in the second third of their signs, and 5 planets are in the last third of their signs. This indicates a major emphasis in the individual, mental, and spiritual field, with less emphasis on the social and emotional field and the actional-material field.

Why Are Full Moons So Important?

At a Full Moon, that which has opened since the previous New Moon surfaces in a public form, and heads toward the culmination and fruition symbolized by the second half of any cycle. First half, birth into form and field. Second half, culmination and completion of the purpose of that cycle.

That’s why it’s important to regard the New and Full Moon charts as “God’s Footprints in Time,” since one follows the other in an unending sequence of births of newer and newer seeds. The New Moons show us the seeds that will flourish under the reflected light of the Full Moon.

Full Moons heighten feelings, due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun. We are now in a time of the year when the inner planets are in a many month run of making conjunctions with the outer planets. In this chart we have 3 forming oppositions, the Moon opposed Saturn, the Sun, and Neptune, creating an “awareness generator” zone between 22-30 Pisces/Virgo.

Dispositors - What's the Backdrop to the Energies?

The Sun is in Pisces, ruled by Jupiter in Gemini, which is ruled by Mercury in Aries. The Moon is in Virgo, ruled by Mercury in Aries. That makes Mercury powerful, even if it’s stationary retrograde.

Besides the Lunation, Mercury in Aries is ruled by Mars in Cancer, which is ruled by the Moon in Virgo. Venus in Aries is ruled by Mars in Cancer. Mars in Cancer is ruled by the Moon. Jupiter is in Gemini, ruled by Mercury. Saturn in Pisces is ruled by Jupiter, Uranus in Taurus is ruled by Venus, Pluto in Aquarius is ruled by Saturn, and as usual, Neptune is a “standalone” planet, ruling itself. That means all the planets except Neptune are ruled by the “chain of dispositors” which involves Mercury, Mars, and the Moon.

By looking at how “chains of dispositors,” “final dispositors,” and “mutual reception” are in play between the planets, we get a clear picture of the backdrop for how each planet operates. The Magic of Venus: Friendships, Soul Mates, and Twin Flames

Venus retrograde at 8 Aries brings us the second pass of Venus through this part of Her sign of “exile.” She is giving us glimpses of what’s coming between now and early May, with this period encouraging us to be receptive to the Ageless Wisdom, or remember when we were exposed to the Ageless Wisdom in the past by a Spiritual Brother or Sister.

The Sabian Symbols for the Full Moon

This Full Moon falls at 24 Pisces and 24 Virgo. It is said that the third third (decan) of any sign deals with the individual, mental, and spiritual levels of life, and as the Lunation is in the third decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of Scorpio/Mars (with an added dose of Mars) and Taurus/Venus (with an added dose of Mercury).

Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the Lunation, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take. Though I’ve given you a sense of what this is about up to now, here’s where we go into detail.

The Solar degree symbol for the 24th degree of Pisces is "An inhabited island.” In the original notes from the Marc Jones class on the symbols published in The Astrology of Personality, Rudhyar says this is a degree of “Centralization of supernal forces,” “adaptability and inherent creativeness of man,” and “Extreme of surety in self-expression.”

In the Astrological Mandala, he states the keynote is "the need to consciously accept one’s own personal limitations in order to concentrate one’s energies and to live a centered and fulfilled life.” He notes that this symbol is one of expanding ego-boundaries so they become “a zone of intense interchange between the inner and the outer, between the individual and the community, between man and the universe.” He speaks of the need to fulfill Dharma, or the “place and function in a vaster whole.” He says it falls in the span of Protection, and it’s the technical degree of the emotional, social, and cultural level of the Scene of Perpetuation in the Act of Capitalization.

Dr. Marc E. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, states that here we can demonstrate our "gift for the organization of (our) own private world in any area of (our) special interest." Here we learn about our ability to "function in a complete independence of the alien or the unfriendly" and "develop adequate resources for (our) need" even in "barren situations."

This is a phase of capitalizing on potential and coax it to fruition. He offers us the keyword CULTIVATION, and says when operating in a positive manner, this degree is "achievement through a creative opportunism or inventiveness of exceptional order."

The Lunar Sabian Symbol for the 24th degree of Virgo is “Mary and her White Lamb.” In the original notes from the Marc Jones class on the symbols published in The Astrology of Personality, Rudhyar says this degree is one of “Freshness of viewpoint uninhibited by social intellectual preoccupations,” “Vibrant simplicity,” and “Spirit-born imagination.”

In The Astrological Mandala, he states this degree symbolizes “The need to keep a vibrant and pure simplicity a the core of one’s being as one meets the many tests of existence.” He states that the only true achievement of our Destiny will involve “a pure, spontaneous, fresh and nonviolent approach to all encounters” that keeps us innocent. This is where we can step back from glamor, struggle, and ego dramas, and learn to “radiate innocence.”

He says that this degree is a technique for finding or recovering our innocence, and that innocence is an integral part of any true self-realization. He says it falls in the span of "Experimentation,” and it’s the fourth degree of the emotional-cultural level of the scene of Consolidation in the Act of Education.

According to Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, the degree is one of “that fullness of life which comes through a cherishing of young ideas,” where we adults can get clues about our potential through healthy approaches involving a child-like expectation. He states we must “take this with us in a very conscious way” so we don’t find ourselves “divided within… and defeated by our own confusion.”

He offers us the keyword of ARTLESSNESS. He states that when operating in a positive manner, this degree is "a highly ingenuous creativity by which an individual is able to make all contact with others a worth-while relationship of self.”

So the specific theme of the Sun in this eclipse involves interchanges between us and the visible and invisible world around us, where we learn “centralization.” Here our ego-function “sets boundaries” and shows our unique character, where we learn our oneness within a larger whole. This involves techniques of emotional, social, and cultural perpetuation of deep and vast feelings and the distributive water that Pisces symbolizes.

These will be expressed in some way by the Moon which implies we have to demonstrate our connectedness through stepping back from old ideas, criticisms, analyses, and sense of what is perfect and what isn’t, and learn to see the world and our potential with new eyes and a new sense of what’s possible. Here simplicity is favored, as is imagination and letting go of fears, worries, and judgments.

We’re in an Era of Overlapping Capricorn and Aquarius Cycles

As you know by now, we had numerous important long wave conjunctions in January 2020 which were set into motion in March 2020, including a 12 year cycle and a 33 year cycle! Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto all made conjunctions in Capricorn in January and March 2020 which were activated by Mars in March 2020. Mars completed its run at its conjunction with Saturn at 1 Aquarius which also set long wave preliminary Aquarian structures into play which are expanding and currently taking shape for the next 16-17 years. The next few weeks renews that Aquarius pulse, and promises 2024 to be a very “Aquarian” year!

We’re seeing the competition between the Capricorn and Aquarian cycles play out in the world between the regressives and the progressives, between the forces of control and the forces which resist control, and between the materialists and the idealists. The Capricorn cycles will be in play for many years to come, but by mid-century they will wane while the Aquarian cycles will have become dominant.

That “Great Compression” of planets in early 2020 created a very crowded house in a very narrow span of degrees, impacting where we have late Capricorn for many years to come. Add the three conjunctions of Jupiter with Pluto as it transited back and forth over the January and March degree points, and we’ve had a lot of long wave Pluto energies expanded which will show effects over the next decade! TransPluto, Divine Mother, and the Tests of Human Redemption

I’ve included this section for many years to keep you all aware of the workings of Divine Mother on our Earth in this Age in Transition. Rather than simply reprint it each month, I created this material as a separate article unto itself a while back. At the 2020 World Teacher Full Moon of Sun in Gemini and Moon in Sagittarius I gave you a universal prayer/meditation offered to us by the Tibetan Master D.K. in April 1945 at the end of the war. Tens of millions around the world do this prayer every Full Moon, tuning into the Whole which we ALL are together. I said it every day for many years, and still say it every Full Moon. (It was a real trip to see eyes suddenly open and/or lightbulbs go on over people’s heads when I did it countless times riding the NYC subways when I lived there in the early 80s!)

In 1976 I changed a few words to make it more universal. For your consideration,

The Great Invocation

From the point of Light within the mind of God
Let Light stream forth into the minds of All,
Let Light descend on Earth

From the point of Love within the heart of God
Let Love stream forth into the hearts of All
May Christ return to Earth

From the center where the Will of God is known
Let Purpose guide the little Wills of All
The Purpose which the Masters know and serve

From the center which we call the Human Race
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.

Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.

Again, as I’ve offered you many times before, when you see the title "The Christ" if you are so inclined please substitute "World Teacher," "Bodhisattva," "Imam Madhi," "Krishna," “Kristos,” "Avalokiteshvara," "Maitreya," "Messiah," or any other term used to describe this Great Being. And if you substitute “Enlightened Ones” or “Wise Ones” for “Masters” I doubt it would offend anyone.
