Sabian Symbols Showing the Light of A Sustaining
Potential Expressed Through How We Prepare For the Future.
As most of you know, the December 2020 Solstice conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn at 1 Aquarius launched new 20 and 200 year eras.
This Full Moon helps us release individual spiritual power into forms of dynamic change! This is a “threshold” Lunation paving the way for a new individual spirituality in us.
I’ll speak more about the bigger picture after the Sabian Symbols. For now, let’s take a closer look at this “power to prepare for the future” Full Moon occurring at 11:26 am PDT on August 19 at 28 Leo/Aquarius.
As this Full Moon has Sun in Leo and Moon in Aquarius, the Light of powerful spiritual releases can be expressed through Aquarius’ focus on a vision of a greater good for a greater number. The Light of individual spiritual releases can now be expressed through the management of spiritual-cooperative group work. This is a Leo light of a new loyalty expressed through a renewed Aquarian cooperative effort.
Because the Full Moon fulfills the themes of the previous New Moon, this will bring the themes of the New Moon at 13 Leo to fulfillment. Those involved an ongoing process of “retiring from old dramas” and being honest with ourselves and others, and with this Full Moon we can find renewed spiritual power by expressing our individuality and uniqueness, following our heart’s desire.
The two T-squares and the Yod of this Full Moon will require us to integrate powerful forces of change using positive Scorpio and Sagittarius energies. This helps us to a deeper connection with Source and offers powerful protections, as well as glimpses of the future. Regard it all as a grand adventure! I’ll speak about the aspects and special evolutionary configurations in the next article.
As this Full Moon has Sun in Leo and Moon in Aquarius, the Light of Leo’s dramatic flair can be expressed through an Aquarian social vision. We enter 2 weeks of the Light of a renewed individual spiritual creative heart expression furthering the greater Aquarian idealism seeking to come forth. Here we see the light of our ability to enjoy our ability to express our spiritual enjoyment expressed through group synergy and/or a greater vision.
This is a Leo Light of heart sensitivity expressed through an Aquarian idealism, and begins a two week period of finding sustainment even as we prepare for a future stage to come. Because Leo/Aquarius is the axis of the archetype of the King/Queen/Noble, we can see the greatest good for our “realm” and bring forms of “divine law” into our lives. This allows us to see clearly how to take command of Leo heart power and express it in group work anticipating a future yet to come.
The Sun in Fire and the Moon in Air shows a time of the Fixed Fire (stabilizing inspiration) of Leo expressing its consistent expression of heart energy through the Fixed Air (stabilizing ideas and interrelatedness) of Aquarius. This chart continues a run of Full Moon themes focused in the individual and spiritual levels of existence.
At this time, 1 planet is in the first third of their sign, 4 planets are in the second third of their signs, and 5 planets are in the last third of their signs. This indicates a major emphasis in the individual, mental, and spiritual field, with slightly less emphasis on the social and emotional field with almost nothing active in the actional-material field
Why Are Full Moons So Important?
At a Full Moon, that which has opened since the previous New Moon surfaces in a public form, and heads toward the culmination and fruition symbolized by the second half of any cycle. First half, birth into form and field. Second half, culmination and completion of the purpose of that cycle.
That’s why it’s important to regard the New and Full Moon charts as “God’s Footprints in Time,” since one follows the other in an unending sequence of births of newer and newer seeds. The New Moons show us the seeds that will flourish under the reflected light of the Full Moon.
Full Moons heighten feelings, due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun. We are now in a time of the year when we’ve begun numerous inner planet oppositions to the outer planets. In this chart we have four oppositions, the Moon opposed the Sun and Mercury and Venus opposed Saturn and Neptune. This creates 2 “awareness generator” zones, the first focused between 24-30 Aquarius/Leo and the other 16-30 Virgo/Pisces.
Dispositors - What's the Backdrop to the Energies?
The Sun is in Leo, ruling itself. The Moon is in Aquarius, ruled by Saturn in Pisces. As the Sun and Saturn are in quadranovile, expect realizations requiring the acceptance of some things and rejecting some things as a result of greater interpersonal spiritual awareness. With the Sun and Moon both square Uranus, expect “eruptions of individuality” these next two weeks!
Besides the Lunation, Mercury is in Leo, ruled by the Sun. Venus is in Virgo, ruled by the Mercury. Mars is in Gemini, ruled by Mercury. Jupiter is in Gemini, ruled by Mercury, and Saturn’s in Pisces, ruled by Jupiter. Uranus in Taurus is ruled by Venus, Pluto in Aquarius is ruled by Saturn in Pisces, and as usual, Neptune is a “standalone” planet, ruling itself.
That makes the Sun the “final dispositor” ruling all the other planets except for Neptune who is also its own “final dispositor.” That makes the Sun by far the most influential, and with Jupiter cutting the Leo/Aquarius oppositions into quintiles and tredeciles, the awareness of the oppositions can be translated into personal and interactive gifts and unique blessings.
By looking at how “chains of dispositors,” “final dispositors,” and “mutual reception” are in play between the planets, we get a clear picture of the backdrop for how each planet operates. You can find out more about dispositors in general, chains of dispositors, and mutual reception by going to Astrology Class – What Is A Dispositor and What Is Mutual Reception Between Two Planets?
The Magic of Venus: Friendships, Soul Mates, and Twin Flames
Venus at 18 Virgo is quite modest, and opposed Saturn is showing us how our relationships express our wisdom as we are revising some ideas back to source. It also shows that Virgo people will be present when we’re externalizing our Saturn/Pisces responses. While Venus holds down its pole in the T-square with Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn, She also provides inner guidance if we’re willing to be educated in how to listen to the inner voice. In Virgo our relationships should be more practical in some way. She is a source of dynamic release in this Lunation and brings out the high specialization of Saturn quintile Uranus.
If you want to know more about how to shape your Venus power to attract better friends and relations in the future, please consider getting your copy of my book he Magic of Venus: Friendships, Soul Mates, and Twin Flames. It is the most comprehensive book on Venus ever written, and explains why we attract who we do and how to create more satisfying relationships in the future.
You will understand the foundations of long term healthy relationships and friendships, why Soul Mates come into our lives, and learn how to shape your attractive power to have better times with better people in the future. Even if you’re not looking for a partner, this book will explain why certain people with certain traits came into your life and what they taught you about yourself.
It has chapters on the qualities of each sign’s natural mate, the qualities of Venus in each sign, and when crucial choices and changes are made, affecting who we attract in the future. It was written for both astrologers and lay people, and as it has a thousand gems for better relationships, with self, others, and Source, please consider getting your copy by going to the link above! (And when you’re done, please leave a review on Amazon, since it helps the book and all other books on astrology as well!)
The Sabian Symbols for the Full Moon
This Full Moon falls at 28 Leo and 28 Aquarius. It is said that the third third (decan) of any sign deals with the individual, mental, and spiritual levels of life, and as the Lunation is in the third decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of Mars (with an added dose of Mars) and Venus (with an added dose of the Moon).
Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the Lunation, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take. Though I’ve given you a sense of what this is about up to now, here’s where we go into detail.
The Solar degree symbol for the 28th degree of Leo is “Many Little Birds on the Limb of a Large Tree.” According to Rudhyar’s notes from the Marc Jones class, this degree symbolizes the “social nature of experience as man finds sustainment in a larger whole of being” and “normal, collective self-expression.”
In the Astrological Mandala, he states the keynote is “a wide, and perhaps confusing, openness to a multiplicity of inspiring potentialities.” He says this can represent a stage of “the consciousness, aspiring to greater realizations or more impressive forms of self-expression, feels itself flooded with new ideas and new possibilities,” which can be both exciting and confusing.
He continues “it becomes necessary to focus oneself by limiting one’s field of vision and activity,” where “we should try not to be overwhelmed with potentialities” and enjoy “the wonderful lightness of feeling this may bring” after months or years. He says it falls in the span of Interpretation, and it’s the synthesizing degree of the individual and spiritual level of the Scene of Release in the Act of Stabilization.
Dr. Marc E. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, states that this is a symbol of “the transcendence of the lesser things in life by a continual expansion of higher considerations, or of the individual’s ability in a crisis to center his attention on the enduring orientations through which (we) gain self-assurance.” He says “here is a happy lightness of the human spirit as it rejoices in its infinitely varying relations with the beautiful and the good, or as its experience is poised at a point of highest satisfaction.”
He offers us the keyword RAMIFICATION. He says that when operating in a positive manner, this degree is "effective mobilization of all the unrealized possibilities of our destiny.”
The Lunar Sabian Symbol for the 28th degree of Aquarius is “A tree felled and sawed.” In the original notes from the Marc Jones class on the symbols published in The Astrology of Personality, Rudhyar says this degree is one of “Rich contribution of nature to all who work with foresight,” “intelligent preparation,” and “Calm yet potent faith in Providence.”
In the Astrological Mandala he goes on to say this is a degree of “knowledge and skill used in its natural surroundings for the satisfaction of vital basic needs.” This combines “natural living” with our ability to prepare for the future, using power and ingenuity, as well as efficiency and intelligence, in a harmonic beauty of acting.
He states it’s about “the efficient use of natural resources for insuring (our) well-being,” using “intelligent foresight.” This degree falls in the Span of Perspective, and is the third, or synthesizing degree, of the Act of Capitalization in the Scene of Management on the individual-mental level.
Dr. Marc E Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, says this is a degree of employing “a lesser reality for the development and sustainment of a greater,” and our ability “in a crisis to center (our) attention on the pressing functions and necessities” of our best interests. He states this is about “the human spirit’s joy in energy expended and satisfaction in the efficient use of skills and materials, with its experience poised in the fluidity of its self-expression.”
We are told the keyword is IMMEDIACY. He states that when operating in a positive manner, this degree is our “uninhibited and enthusiastic desire to be at work or to mobilize everything around (us) in (our) own interests.”
From these symbols it seems the Light of this Full Moon will help us find the light through a mobilization of our unrealized possibilities in an enjoyable form. This will be expressed by learning to see how to use the lesser to build the greater, with joy of energy expended in a great work. By the Light of “knowing a normal expression” of our hearts, we’ll find foresight which helps us know what needs to be managed to anticipate a future condition.
We’re in an Era of Overlapping Capricorn and Aquarius Cycles
As you know by now, we had numerous important long wave conjunctions in January 2020 which were set into motion in March 2020, including a 12 year cycle and a 33 year cycle! Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto all made conjunctions in Capricorn in January and March 2020 which were activated by Mars in March 2020. Mars completed its run at its conjunction with Saturn at 1 Aquarius which also set long wave preliminary Aquarian structures into play which are expanding and currently taking shape for the next 16-17 years. The next few weeks renews that Aquarius pulse, and promises 2024 to be a very “Aquarian” year!
We’re seeing the competition between the Capricorn and Aquarian cycles play out in the world between the regressives and the progressives, between the forces of control and the forces which resist control, and between the materialists and the idealists. The Capricorn cycles will be in play for many years to come, but by mid-century they will wane while the Aquarian cycles will have become dominant.
That “Great Compression” of planets in early 2020 created a very crowded house in a very narrow span of degrees, impacting where we have late Capricorn for many years to come. Add the three conjunctions of Jupiter with Pluto as it transited back and forth over the January and March degree points, and we’ve had a lot of long wave Pluto energies expanded which will show effects over the next decade! If you’re wondering how this Great Compression and those to come will impact us, please check out the linked articles on the bottom of Part 1 of this series published yesterday.
TransPluto, Divine Mother, and the Tests of Human Redemption
I’ve included this section for many years to keep you all aware of the workings of Divine Mother on our Earth in this Age in Transition. Rather than simply reprint it each month, I created this material as a separate article unto itself a while back. If you want to know more about the vast spiritual field coaxing us toward a great redemption of the promise of Life itself, please take a new look at TransPluto, Divine Mother, and the Spiritual Lessons of 2024. We have now returned to a time where we are again learning to get over our preconceptions and greet others with an open mind.
*********
At the 2020 World Teacher Full Moon of Sun in Gemini and Moon in Sagittarius I gave you a universal prayer/meditation offered to us by the Tibetan Master D.K. in April 1945 at the end of the war. Tens of millions around the world do this prayer every Full Moon, tuning into the Whole which we ALL are together. I said it every day for many years, and still say it every Full Moon. (It was a real trip to see eyes suddenly open and/or lightbulbs go on over people’s heads when I did it countless times riding the NYC subways when I lived there in the early 80s!)
In 1976 I changed a few words to make it more universal. For your consideration,
The Great Invocation
From the point of Light within the mind of God
Let Light stream forth into the minds of All,
Let Light descend on EarthFrom the point of Love within the heart of God
Let Love stream forth into the hearts of All
May Christ return to EarthFrom the center where the Will of God is known
Let Purpose guide the little Wills of All
The Purpose which the Masters know and serveFrom the center which we call the Human Race
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.
Again, as I’ve offered you many times before, when you see the title "The Christ" if you are so inclined please substitute "World Teacher," "Bodhisattva," "Imam Madhi," "Krishna," “Kristos,” "Avalokiteshvara," "Maitreya," "Messiah," or any other term used to describe this Great Being. And if you substitute “Enlightened Ones” or “Wise Ones” for “Masters” I doubt it would offend anyone.
See you soon with part 3 covering aspects, planetary sequencing, and other important factors in this “culminating” Full Moon.
