Sabian Symbols Showing the Light of Preserving What's Valuable Expressed Through Executive Decisions

As most of you know, the December 2020 Solstice conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn at 1 Aquarius launched new 20 and 200 year eras. This Full Moon helps us to integrate and reintegrate as we stand on the threshold of several months of extremely dynamic change! This is a “threshold” Lunation paving the way for a new individual spirituality in us.

I'll speak more about the bigger picture after the Sabian Symbols. For now, let's take a closer look at this “power consolidating” Full Moon occurring at 3:17 am PDT on July 21 at 30 Cancer/Capricorn.

As this Full Moon has Sun in Cancer and Moon in Capricorn, the Light of a greater tenderness, caring, and concern can be expressed through Capricorn's spirit of responsibility and maturity. The Light of individual spiritual integration and consolidation can now be expressed through the decisions needed to execute some group activity. This is a Cancer light of a new loyalty expressed through a new Capricorn plan.

Because the Full Moon fulfills the themes of the previous New Moon, that being the New Moon at 15 Cancer, we can use the ongoing process of “materializing the spiritual” promised by that Cancer New Moon to find new power in connectedness with the past, as well as preserving what we value. We are moving into a new direction as a result of what we no longer carry within us that we've left behind since April. Keep showing tender care for those things and people which nurture you.

We enter a time of the Light of savoring our personal experience we've nurtured up to now expressed through Capricorn's sense of purpose executed in responsible ways. Because Cancer/Capricorn is the axis of the archetype of the Innocent/Primal, we can see the honest truth about anything we want to be educated in. Let the Light of instinctive deep knowing be expressed in selfless ways through your primal innocence which instinctively knows the right thing to do without ulterior motives getting in the way.

The Sun in Water and the Moon in Earth shows a time of the Cardinal Water (initiating personal experience and sensitivity) of Cancer expressing its mobilized self-interest through the Cardinal Earth (initiating practical personal power) of Capricorn. This chart begins a run of Full Moon themes focused in the individual and spiritual levels of existence.

At this time, 2 planets are in the first third of their sign, 3 planets are in the second third of their signs, and 5 planets are in the last third of their signs. This indicates a major emphasis in the individual, mental, and spiritual field, with a little more emphasis on the social and emotional field than the actional-material field

Why Are Full Moons So Important?

At a Full Moon, that which has opened since the previous New Moon surfaces in a public form, and heads toward the culmination and fruition symbolized by the second half of any cycle. First half, birth into form and field. Second half, culmination and completion of the purpose of that cycle.

That's why it's important to regard the New and Full Moon charts as “God's Footprints in Time,” since one follows the other in an unending sequence of births of newer and newer seeds. The New Moons show us the seeds that will flourish under the reflected light of the Full Moon.

Full Moons heighten feelings, due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun. We are now in a time of the year when we've begun numerous inner planet oppositions to the outer planets. In this chart we have only two oppositions involving the Moon and Pluto opposing the Sun. This creates an “awareness generator” focused between 28 Cancer/Capricorn-3 Aquarius/Leo.

Dispositors - What's the Backdrop to the Energies?

The Sun is in Cancer, making the Moon in Capricorn its ruler. The Moon is in Capricorn, ruled by Saturn in Pisces. As the Moon and Saturn are in septile, we can expect heavy karmic events these next two weeks! And with the numerous 5th harmonic aspects and other septiles, this is going to be both crazy and specializing.

Besides the Lunation, Mercury is in Leo, ruled by the Sun. Venus is in Leo, ruled by the Sun. Mars is in Gemini, ruled by Mercury. Jupiter is in Gemini, ruled by Mercury, and Saturn's in Pisces, ruled by Jupiter. Uranus in Taurus is ruled by Venus, Pluto in Aquarius is ruled by Saturn in Pisces, and as usual, Neptune is a “standalone” planet, ruling itself.

That makes the Moon, Saturn, Jupiter, and Mercury, and the Sun the “chain of dispositors” which rule all the other planets except for Neptune which is its own “final dispositor.” Of these, the Sun and Jupiter are by far the most influential as Saturn is totally building and specializing and the Sun is in high awareness mode via the oppositions.

By looking at how “chains of devices,” “final devices,” and “mutual reception” are in play between the planets, we get a clear picture of the backdrop for how each planet operates. The Magic of Venus: Friendships, Soul Mates, and Twin Flames

Venus at 12 Leo is a very playful and expressive position for Venus, who likes to be creative and a bit splashy when cutting lose. She provides maximum productivity via the sextile to Jupiter, and major gifts and blessings courtesy of the quintile to Mars and biquintile to Saturn. In Leo our relationships should be more fun, even if a bit fiery from time to time. She is very favorable in this Lunation and will help mitigate some of the Mercurial tension and craziness.

The Sabian Symbols for the Full Moon

This Full Moon falls at 30 Cancer and 30 Capricorn. It is said that the third decan of any sign deals with the individual, mental, and spiritual levels of life, and as the Lunation is in the third decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of Jupiter (with an added dose of the Moon) and Mercury (with an added dose of the Sun).

Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the Moon, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take. Though I've given you a sense of what this is about up to now, here's where we go into detail.

The Solar degree symbol for the 30th degree of Cancer is “A Daughter of the American Revolution." In the The Astrology of Personality, where Rudhyar uses the original Dr. Jones' class notes on the symbols, 30 Cancer is said to be a degree of "the will and ability to maintain a social supremacy based on thoroughly established tradition," and "inner or outer aristocracy."

In The Astrological Mandala he offers that this degree is one of "the prestige and conservatism of a long-maintained heritage" showing us traditional social-cultural values. This is a degree finalizing "the consolidation and concretization of life urges within a stable form of organization." He says this degree "totally embodies and glorifies tradition." It falls in the Span of Ingenuousness, Act of Stabilization, and Scene of Consolidation on the Individual-Mental level.

Dr. Jones says this is a degree of the willingness to maintain "an established tradition" as an "enduring background in human relations." Here we must guard against being conservative in a way that resists change, and need to live "a life which is exemplary through its faithfulness to standards of proven worth." He offers the keyword INHERITANCE, and when positive it's said to be a degree of "an infectious pride in leadership through which a group is able to act as a unit."

So this is a degree of maintaining a heritage. Here we can organize and stabilize our lives by embracing our inherited excellences and standards that have proven themselves perfect for whatever we're here to perpetuate in our world. Here we form or maintain traditions that reveal standards we and others can rely on.

The Lunar degree symbol for the 30th degree of Capricorn is “A secret business conference." In the original Jones class notes Dane Rudhyar published in The Astrology of Personality, he states this degree is one of "massing of soul-energies in an emergency," "activity of inner formative elements" and "Spiritual leadership.”

In The Astrological Mandala, he states this degree involves personality strengths fulfilling Capricorn group energies where we "conference with others" who share power to make far-reaching decisions. He notes this degree is one of "power to assume responsibility for crucial choices" and is "the culmination of social responsibility" involving "councils" discussing and deciding how things will evolve. It falls in the Span of Dependence, Act of Capitalization, and Scene of Group Performance on the Individual-Mental level.

Dr. Jones says this is a degree of "background in human relations as essentially the product of current activities," and the ability to capitalize on "effective allegiances" in "an inner circle of associates" with whom we may "exercise a real control over immediate eventualities." He offers the keyword OPPORTUNITY, and states that when positive, the degree is "a gift for clever planning and successful administration in every area of ​​life."

So this is a degree of individual-mental activity in a group setup helping us capitalize on our power-sharing relationships so we can make decisions to organize our affairs and/or the affairs of others more effectively. Here we see the power of personality showing us the way to forms of effective spiritual leadership.

From these symbols it seems the Light of this Full Moon will help us find the light in forms that are familiar, traditional, and provide us either forms of protection or what we need to display our excellence, expressed in a fulfilled organized group authority that shows us how we can exercise control over processes. This is the light of accepting leadership roles that help a group act as a cohesive unit expressing itself in planning and administering group resources to capitalize on opportunity.

How we focus the next two weeks will show us which forms establish power in our lives, and what we need to accept or organize through decisions to use power in a group context. This is a good time to take responsibility by seeing a larger ideal vision while remembering to honor what "brought us to the dance." Here the light of our group involvements can be integrated to consolidate our life energies.

As this Lunation falls on the culminating degrees of Cancer and Capricorn, it shows the natural fulfillment of the archetypal roles the signs indicate. What is coming forth from this Full Moon will show us how our transformational process can be made more familiar and comfortable in traditional ways.

We're in an Era of Overlapping Capricorn and Aquarius Cycles

As you know by now, we had numerous important long wave conjunctions in January 2020 which were set into motion in March 2020, including a 12 year cycle and a 33 year cycle! Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto all made conjunctions in Capricorn in January and March 2020 which were activated by Mars in March 2020. Mars completed its run at its conjunction with Saturn at 1 Aquarius which also set long wave preliminary Aquarian structures into play which are expanding and currently taking shape for the next 16-17 years. The next few weeks renews that Aquarius pulse, and promises 2024 to be a very “Aquarian” year!

We're seeing the competition between the Capricorn and Aquarian cycles play out in the world between the regressives and the progressives, between the forces of control and the forces which resist control, and between the materialists and the idealists. The Capricorn cycles will be in play for many years to come, but by mid-century they will wane while the Aquarian cycles will have become dominant.

That “Great Compression” of planets in early 2020 created a very crowded house in a very narrow span of degrees, impacting where we have late Capricorn for many years to come. Add the three conjunctions of Jupiter with Pluto as it transited back and forth over the January and March degree points, and we've had a lot of long wave Pluto energies expanded which will show effects over the next decade! At the 2020 World Teacher Full Moon of Sun in Gemini and Moon in Sagittarius I gave you a universal prayer/meditation offered to us by the Tibetan Master DK in April 1945 at the end of the war. Tens of millions around the world do this prayer every Full Moon, tuning into the Whole which we ALL are together. I said it every day for many years, and still say it every Full Moon. (It was a real trip to see eyes suddenly open and/or lightbulbs go on over people's heads when I did it countless times riding the NYC subways when I lived there in the early 80s!)

In 1976 I changed a few words to make it more universal. For your consideration,

The Great Invocation

From the point of Light within the mind of God
Let Light flow forth into the minds of All,
Let Light descend on Earth

From the point of Love within the heart of God
Let Love flow forth into the hearts of All
May Christ returns to Earth

From the center where the Will of God is known
Let Purpose guide the little Wills of All
The Purpose which the Masters know and serve

From the center which we call the Human Race
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.

Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.

Again, as I've offered you many times before, when you see the title "The Christ" if you are so inclined please substitute "World Teacher," "Bodhisattva," "Imam Madhi," "Krishna," “Kristos,” “Avalokitesvara,” “Maitreya,” “Messiah,” or any other term used to describe this Great Being. And if you substitute “Enlightened Ones” or “Wise Ones” for “Masters” I doubt it would offend anyone.
