5 Ways to Develop Laser-Sharp Focus on Your Dream
- Details

Do you have laser-sharp focus on your dream, or do you often find yourself feeling insecure about where you are headed?
For many students of the Law of Attraction, developing the right focus is a challenge, particularly on the “big” dreams.
When we decide we are going to go after a big dream, there are often residual doubts, anxieties and limiting belief structures that prevents us from completely committing to our dream in a positively expectant way.
So, with this in mind, today I’d like to share with you a few things I’ve learned over the years about developing laser-sharp focus on your dream. If you’re ready to really commit to your dream, I suggest you try these things out!
1. Focus on the long game, rather than the short game.
This is a MAJOR issue for many conscious creators. When they don’t get what they want ASAP, they often start to worry and reflect negatively. Then, the negative reflection paralyzes their progress.
Simply switching from focusing on the short game to the long game can be a very beneficial exercise if you find yourself in this situation.
Now, to be truthful, your dreams don’t have to take a super long time. Things can happen quickly! However, even though dreams can appear quickly, chances are if you really want something you want it for the long haul. What you really crave is the journey of the dream, complete with all of the little victories along the way.
For example, if you are wanting a relationship, you may find it frustrating that it hasn’t materialized yet. However, think about it…would you rather get a full-fledged relationship instantaneously or would you rather enjoy the path of meeting someone you liked, flirting, dating and easing into the relationship?
Avoid getting caught up in what hasn’t happened right this minute. Focusing on the long game will keep you grounded in this respect.
2. Be consistent in your routines.
If there is something you truly believe you need to do in order to get where you want to be, you’ve got to honor that activity. If this means going in to work early, working out, taking risks or working on your self-esteem, embed these activities into your life regularly.
You’ve got to act as if you are moving toward your dreams. Quality routines can facilitate this kind of action. For more on this, check out the video clip below from my YouTube channel.
3. Keep moving forward.
Life has a way of pushing us forward with each step. As you move forward you learn new things and you fine-tune your ability to reach the things you really want. You can be an active participant in this process, or you can drag your feet and complain that things aren’t like they used to be.
Realize that you have to keep moving forward when it comes to realizing your dreams. What you were doing 5 years ago is no longer relevant to where you stand today. Always be recalibrating and adjusting. The time along the way to your dream gives you a precious opportunity to sharpen your saw.
4. Speak positively about where you are and where you are going.
Being humble and self-deprecating may seem make other people more comfortable, but it does nothing for you and where you want to go.
For example, if you are building your business and anytime someone asks you about it you say something like “well, it’s not moving as fast as I’d like,” guess what? Your words are reinforcing your negative expectations about your business.
Be as positive as you can, and take care with the words you choose to utter about your dream.
5. Laugh in the face of your defeats.
Defeats only have power over you if you react to them and feed into them.
For example, who do you think will have a better shot at scoring a date? A guy who gets turned down once and then avoids trying again or a guy who gets turned down 10 times but keeps trying?
Defeats do not have to be an obstacle to your dream. Defeats ALWAYS give you the opportunity to shout out to the universe “this is what I want and I’m going to keep at it until I get it!”
Take advantage of these opportunities when they arise!
I hope you’ve enjoyed these tips to create laser-sharp focus on your dream. If you have any other suggestions about developing certainty in your passions, share them below! After all, sharing is caring.
