Mercury Stationary Direct at 27 Taurus Pt. 2

Mercury Stationary Direct at 27 Taurus Pt. 2

Affecting June, July, August, and September 2022 – A Third Look at Spiritual Individuality and Their Expression.

Mercury is going direct at 1 am PDT June 3 and will be in its shadow zone through June 18, after which it enters its next phase of moving through "unknown zones" where the themes of this retrograde will be played out in forward motion. So for the next 2 weeks expect some very productive intersections of past and future, giving us a chance to show how willing we are to update our perceptual files, moving from Taurus wisdom into Gemini discoveries.

Themes related to the span between 27 Taurus and 5 Gemini will continue to be prominent until Mercury enters its next shadow zone on August 20. While all Mercury retrogrades give us “a look back,” some give us “a look forward.” This one has occupied a span which will become highly active between 2024 and 2027 when Jupiter triggers the expansion of the themes of this span, followed by Uranus’ transit of this area of the zodiac, bringing global awakenings related to these themes. So this retrograde has been a “back to the future” type of experience.

As noted in part 1, this year all Mercury retrograde spans start in early Air signs and retrograde back into late Earth signs, helping us start with ideas and finish with practical grounded insights. This Mercury direct station falls at 27 Taurus. It is said that the third third (decan) of any sign deals with the individual, mental, and spiritual levels of life, and as this falls in the third decan of Taurus, it has a sub-influence of Capricorn with an added dose of Saturn. Because Mercury split its time between Gemini and Taurus, it was ruled by itself at the front end, and ruled by Venus on the back end.

Aspects in the Shadow Zone

Mercury will transit its “shadow” span of 27 Taurus-5 Gemini through late June, with residual echoes for the next 13 weeks as well. Mercury going direct will re-activate many of the aspects it's made over the past few weeks, including its long term trine to Pluto, stabilizing our understanding of core issues and the structural factors in situations and people’s lives.

As Mercury moves forward from its station, it stays in trine with Pluto through mid-June, keeping a laser focus on cultivating knowledge of the core of things. At this direct station, it makes an exact septile with Mars which becomes a semisquare by the second week of the month. The semisquare stays in play until June 22, after Mercury leaves its shadow zone, giving way to another septile by the end of the month.

This station also shows Mercury septile Jupiter in play for the first 12 days of June, after which they begin to make the productive sextile which also becomes exact just after Mercury leaves its shadow zone. So consider the Mars’ initiated activity of the end of May and beginning of June to be blessed and expanded by Jupiter during early June. Areas most affected involve 3-7 Aries, 25-29 Taurus, 16-20 Cancer, 8-12 Virgo, 29 Libra-3 Scorpio, 20-24 Sagittarius, and 11-15 Aquarius. If you have a planet or point in one of these areas, seize the day!

Because all the planets are currently within a 133+ degree span, these are all the aspects Mercury makes in its shadow zone. Of course, there are other aspects which dominate the landscape at this direct station, including Sun tredecile Saturn, sesquisquare Pluto and quintile Jupiter, showing we’re all “being agitated” toward developing special gifts and unique interactive opportunities. Of course there are other aspects as well, which were discussed in the recent New Moon articles.

The Moon and Sun at this Station

The Moon at the station is a New Moon, indicating a lot of instinctive growth which is highly subjective and self-directed. As the Moon is at 25 Cancer, it’s extremely powerful and promises us all some sort of “mantle of power,” or Grace which can “make us leaders.” It is a degree of high mobilization and the integration of personality on the social and emotional levels of life., and is in favorable aspect to Mercury, Venus, Mars, Uranus, and Neptune, with only a quincunx to Saturn and opposition to Pluto providing any friction.

Still, this is yet another celestial event where any planets we have in the late degrees of the Earth and Water signs are greatly benefited. The recent Wesak Lunar Eclipse had planets forming a “four note chord of harmony” involving Scorpio, Capricorn, Pisces, and Taurus. This station has another “four note chord” involving Capricorn, Pisces, Taurus, and Cancer. This brings great stability and harmony to the latter areas of all the Earth and Water signs.

The Moon/Saturn quincunx will bring some forced adjustments in the next few weeks, especially when the Sun, Mercury, and Venus also quincunx Saturn from the same point. It implies that in our testing “to pick up and deliver spiritual power” indicated by Saturn may require a few adjustments in how we feel or experience the use of that power. See this period as “foreshadowing” future tests of skill in wielding power as a dedicated agent of a greater collective effort, and know that what you’re learning now is leading you into a greater spiritual service.

At this station, the Sun is 13 Gemini, a degree where we can “put on the show” and see our social standing with new eyes. It also implies the coming period is a culmination of some form of selfhood, with a sense of finality as we prepare for mobilization in taking the lead in some life area. The Sun now leads the way which all the other planets will transit between now and September, so “see the Light” leading you into future spiritual discoveries.

The Sun makes a few aspects, all powerful. It is quintile Jupiter, tredecile Saturn, and sesquisquare Pluto, as described above. Because the Sun is in Gemini it is ruled by Mercury stationary direct in Taurus, it ruled by Venus in Taurus on a degree of returning to ancient sources of Being to find a revelation of the future. So in some way this secures or grounds the energies awakened during Uranus’ stations at 7 Taurus in 2019, 2020, and 2021.

Looking Back, Looking Ahead

So from here Mercury moves forward! We can now take what we reviewed, got a new understanding of, or found new information about that helped us remember and/or reevaluate some things and move forward with a larger view and contemplation of what has been and what will be, especially in the houses where we have Gemini and Virgo, since Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo.

As it was retrograde between 5 Gemini and 27 Taurus, those house(s) in our charts have been the areas where our review, reflections, returns, reconsiderations, and/or rehearsals have taken place. I gave you some of the possible effects of Mercury in the houses in the article Mercury Retrograde in Gemini and Taurus in May-June 2022 - What It Means For Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces

Since it is now direct, if there have been misunderstandings or delays these past 3 weeks, it's all moving forward from here! We can begin to get a lot more accomplished, after a period of slow downs, turnarounds, review, reflection, reworking, undoing, and re-planning. We’ve been offered a chance to rethink many things, and experienced new ways of seeing how to organize or reorganize something, or make something more efficient. Now we move forward into a new life knowing we’re traversing familiar ground before we leap into the future in late June.

So things should start moving forward anew fairly quickly. Right now, it’s a good time to use the different information, views, and approaches we’ve been examining through the retrograde lens these past several weeks to find a new understanding of the larger global process of purification, elimination, and transformation. We now have an alternative take on some things, as well as a more organized approach to making things stable and/or pleasant, and having taken a slight detour through the past, can move forward into a time of accepting greater spiritual power.

Now that we've done our rehearsals, reviews, revisions, and/or research on those inner and outer experiences showing us the need for preparation from a place of stability, we can weave all we know into a different way to coordinate part of our life. Here we again face the future, knowing a different sense of Being and a new vision of our wisdom. Despite the tensions of the coming weeks, see what good there is to be done, since as Spirits flying freely in the direction we choose, remember the immortal words of George Harrison, “if you don’t know where you’re going, any road will get you there.”

From Here We Speed Up!

Things related to Mercury will speed up considerably for the next three months, so flow with the new YOU you’re experiencing! Meditate on the symbol “An old Native American Woman selling beads” since that’s the gist of the Sabian symbol I gave you in part 1. That sets the theme for the next three months, and helps us be clear about our wisdom, our culture, and our “anchorage in an inner reality.” This helps us retreat from the superficial, and seeing to the core of things, enables us to refine the end results of the wisdom we’ve acquired up to this point. Detach from all lesser things, and you’ll find yourself in a position to accept the responsibility of utilizing spiritual power effectively.

When you get a sense of things or a hunch, follow the feeling to a new understanding, or new information about what’s going on. Then after you’ve deliberated, see what decisions and actions which must be made to move the idea into a secure form. One you’ve done what you have to do, then take time to experience what you’ve just done rather than stay lost in the infinite playing fields of the lower mind. If you are unclear, use your feelings to guide you to a new vision or information. Once the new understanding opens, you’ll know what to do. So be thoughtful, open to communications, and follow it with your “innocent instinct” to get a broadened perspective.

A New Look at Mercury Retrograde

In a final plug as Mercury moves forward in its shadow zone, if you want to know more about the qualities of Mercury retrograde in all the signs and houses, please consult your copy of the expanded 2nd edition of A New Look At Mercury Retrograde, available on Amazon. It's a handy reference for everything you could want to know about Mercury retrograde people and Mercury retrograde in the signs and houses. It explores how Mercury retrograde people think and work through things, and why roundabout or delayed interpretations aren’t necessarily a bad thing, whether in kids or adults. Here's the link to where you can order your paperback copy of A New Look at Mercury Retrograde. The ebook is available on Kindle and Nook. (Again, just make sure you get the 2016 edition published by the Fifth Ray rather than the 1997 edition originally published by Weiser.)
