January 2024 Monthly Forecast

January 2024 Monthly Forecast

The theme for January is: “Tie up Loose Ends and Make a Plan!”

We are rearing to go in this new year as we anticipate a more dynamic energy to fuel our ideas, goals and intentions but we are not there yet.

Although tying up loose ends may require a certain amount of action, to make a plan does not. Our plates have been really full and we are just now climbing out from under the sorting, releasing, revaluing and redefining what we learned, what we want, what we don’t want, and where we need to go and what we need to do. Think of this month as preparation for the year just as the year is preparation for 2025.

So if you feel like you did not have enough time to complete things the way you wanted to before this new year started, you have an opportunity now to tie up the loose ends and to focus on finishing whatever needs to be completed. This is important as there is a new level of power coming in that requires all of us to step up our game and reach for the next level of functioning. If you are dragging too much baggage and unfinished business into the new year, you could be very challenged once the momentum moving us forward hits.

So, the first order of business is to tie up the loose ends. Loose ends are decisions still hanging, communication that still needs to happen, choices to let go or bring along projects, relationships, commitments, plans; choices to release old dreams no longer viable, and all those things you were planning to do, say, start or finish that are still hanging around unresolved. Worry fits into this category as well. Eliminating worry by handling, or making a plan to handle, what has you worried is essential to freeing you up to take advantage of the energies coming in next month (February). The influences this month are very earthy, structural and of the physical making dealing with all things physical necessary and very well supported.

So, where does making a plan fit in?

The first part of the plan is tying up the loose ends. Once you have a plan then you can proceed. There is lots of support for discipline and determination in the first part of the month that will be helpful in staying focused on this task. If you feel overwhelmed, think of taking baby steps and tying up those loose ends little by little. You have plenty of time. Take all that is not essential off your plate and rearrange your priorities so you handle the most important things first. As you clear your plate, clarity will come and it will be easier to see what’s next. Patience is required. Being impatient will only lead to a less than positive state. If you fall down the rabbit hole, take a deep breath, take a break, reground, ask for help, and resume.

The second part of making a plan is to create a container for your ideas, intentions, goals, projects and all that you wish for in this year. There is still no action until later in the month but building the right container to hold your dreams and intentions is the first step. The container is the energetic structure that will support your ideas and goals for the year. The container is like your personal garden where you weed out what does not belong or what is past, and then fertilize the ground for those new seeds.

Use your imagination and work with some ”what if” questions to stimulate and bring forward intentions and ideas that may have been hovering under the surface. Use the time around the new moon on the 11th to write some goals and intentions down as a work in progress that can be amended, refined or changed. Find a new level of courage and trust in your inner values as you navigate the process of tying up those loose ends, leaving behind what needs to stay in the past, and stepping out to be seen in your truth supported by a good container, strong boundaries and set of intentions for the year.

How the month shows up:

YOU PERSONALLY

It is time to up your game, step into power, release self-doubt, find new courage, take responsibility and prepare for the future. Tying up loose ends may mean finally committing to a practice, study, change of habit, discipline or schedule. It will certainly include eliminating things that are not supportive. It is a good time to look at any energy leaks, distractions, unnecessary worries, obligations that are not your responsibility and make changes where needed. Discipline is easy this first part of the month and can keep you on track. Don’t be afraid to set good boundaries around your time and energy. The more focused and organized you can be, the more prepared you will be for the greater movement and call to action later in the month.

Building inner strength through your own truth and conviction is important for a strong container, and this inner power will help you fuel your actions when the time comes to manifest those intentions.

RELATIONSHIPS

In addition to tying up loose ends in communication, we focus on our relationships to what we are completing. What have we learned and how can we honor the relationships we had with what we are leaving behind? This includes addictions, habits, dysfunctional people, unsupportive situations, outdated belief systems and a variety of other things. It also includes all the wonderful experiences, people, accomplishments, dreams and projects we may still feel some attachment to.

“What’s done is done, leave it in the past” would be a good phrase to use to help you especially with anything unresolved that still has you feeling angry, shameful, vengeful, self-deprecating, resentful, discouraged or disappointed. Sometimes tying up loose ends requires getting to a place of neutrality to experience the freedom to take the next steps.

HEALTH AND THE PHYSICAL BODY

We are still dealing with patterns and therefore issues with bones and teeth which hold the oldest deepest ones could be a challenge. On an essence level we do not wish to be held back so losing a tooth or breaking a bone seems a small consequence in the larger picture. This is both a challenging and a rewarding month for the physical body. Discipline goes a long way to build a strong container for physical and emotional health. It is a good month to examine your beliefs about your body and its capabilities as well as to initiate new practices, routines and habits. Everyone is different so some will need more rest, some more exercise, some a better diet, some more self-care, some more courage to be seen, some less social distraction. Whatever your truth and inner wisdom communicates to you, listen and make a plan.

Later in the month, the desire to move may be realized as physical activity, dancing, sports, exercise, walking, joining a gym, swimming and more. Appreciation of the physical body and nurturing your relationship with it is key to a strong container for your future. It is up to you to have good boundaries against bad habits and to be disciplined about nurturing and supporting the good ones.

BUSINESS PARTNERSHIPS AND PROJECTS

The theme of tying up loose ends is alive and well regarding business, projects and partners. We have been in a time of reevaluating and now those loose ends can show us what the next steps are. Don’t be afraid to make radical changes if that is what your insight and truth suggest. It is a good time to include some level of risk in making a plan provided that there are no loose ends lingering.

Many projects and business ventures are works in progress and it is easy to feel like you have no choice but to stay on a given path.  However, you can always change an aspect without eliminating the foundation. It is a bit like trimming a tree to give it a different shape and ability to grow in a new direction without cutting the tree down. So, this is true for containers holding projects that already have a good foundation. However if there is a situation that feels completely done, it may be time to cut it loose and start focusing on a new container that will hold a new idea.

ENVIRONMENT

The first part of the month is all about earth so you can expect more earth movement either through quakes, floods, tides or slides. The latter part of the month we move into more of the air element of the year that could bring the winds of change. Use this to support your personal environment by focusing on the physical improvement, clearing and reorganizing first and then bringing in a new fresh energy like airing out the stuffy rooms and breathing in a brighter lighter vibration. Don’t be afraid to toss, re-purpose and move things around with the intention of decluttering and creating more space. Tying up loose ends may mean finally taking those bags to recycle or giving them to goodwill.

Try to see your environment with fresh eyes as if you are looking at a blank canvas. How would you change it? Instead of feeling like you have to work around what is already there, what if you could create something completely new? This will stretch your imagination and activate your creativity.

DATES AND TIME FRAMES

January 1-7

A window of inner reflection and re-evaluation requiring patience, good boundaries and exploring personal truth. There is more clarity and hindsight about what we don’t want and don’t need; however, the future can still be a bit foggy. Focus on completions and what you may need to do to shake off any sticky parts of 2023, making a plan if you cannot get to the action right away. Since this is an earthy time, work with the earth, grounding and anchoring into the physical aspects of your life. Be aware of what is needing attention in your personal environment and work with rearranging structures, fortifying your container and making plans for tying up loose ends.

January 8-15

It is nose to the grindstone, getting the work done with discipline and focus. Watch impatience, watch distractions, watch for negative attitudes. It is important to stay positive and see the value in tying up the loose ends instead of resisting the process.  Focus instead on creativity and inspiration. Be inspired to approach tasks and plans in a new way always asking how things could be different and improved. This is also a good window to take extra care of your body as it is the physical container of your life.

If there is something you need to process or let go of, your body may be vulnerable and act as a vehicle for that transformation. As we approach the New Moon on the 11th (excellent for setting intentions) keep a “don’t know mind” and remind yourself that in the flexibility and creativity of the universe anything can happen.

January 11

New Moon in Capricorn is Thursday, January 11, at 4:57 AM Mountain Standard Time (MST). This new moon brings some very beautiful and supportive energy for intention setting. Tap into your deepest desires and use your creativity to explore what you know you want to do. You do not need to know the “how” of it, only the “what” for now. This new moon is also in support of reaching for more courage to be seen as you step up into more of your authenticity and unique medicine.

This is a time of transformation however don’t be impatient with action, results or confirmation.  A great deal of trust is needed especially trust in your own inner wisdom and values. Spend some time writing down the intentions that are clear without any attachment to how they will manifest. Think of this list as a work in progress that can be refined, added to, rewritten or changed.

Watch bones, teeth, joints and knees which are all a bit vulnerable during this time as we work with old patterns transforming them into new energies that we can use. Spend some time working with the earth and nourishing those parts of you that need some love and support from Pacha Mama.

January 16-23

We get a huge boost of power during this time and it will be important to use it wisely. Watch impulsive behavior. Engaging in power struggles, channeling it into impatience, irritation or anger, running from it, impulsively rejecting something important, all of these are not a good use of this boost. You have the opportunity to fuel something wonderful and to feed your inner wisdom and desires with this power. It is a good time to consider a bid for power that is aligned with spirit and use this boost to feed the container of your plan.

Mental clarity comes online at this time as well as space for new innovative ideas and a sense of collaboration for the greater good. We will definitely see power struggles out there in the world however you can focus more on the power of community in your own life and even look for opportunities to engage with others to stimulate creativity and inspiration.

January 24-31

This is a relationship window excellent for evaluating how your relationships are serving you and how you are serving your relationships. These are not only about relationships between people but also relationships with spirit, health, nature, work, study, rest, completions, beginnings, intentions, belief systems and many more. There may be work to be done around boundaries, around support and around completions and beginnings. Your container that holds your relationships is up for a detailed overhaul and perhaps some new vitality.

This time frame is also extremely energized for action, adventure, risk, new beginnings, lots of support, joy and fun. Use it to step up your game, raise your vibration and launch those intentions into the future. The energy will really ramp up in mid-February so this is an adjustment time where you can refine what is in your container and part of your plan.
