Multiversity
I’ve been
pondering
diversity.
This singular word
used to describe our
multitudinous state of existence,
and the differences inherent in its
living web of complexity here
on our spinning orb.
Being a lover of words, in truth
something never sat quite well
within the slants and curves,
the syntax and context of this
word when used de facto to
convey the vast range of
expression this profuse
terrestrial complexity
brings to life.
It speaks ‘range.’
But does it
convey it?
So my mind's
burrowed into it, so
overused that it’s become
virtually meaningless,
wondering why?
And this is what
my curiosity's bumped
round and into.
Diversity, from the Latin
diversus, past participle
of divertere: to turn aside
prefigures ‘sides.”
‘Di' prefixes doubles,
halves. From the Greek,
it qualifies two, twice,
duo.
As in duality.
A noun. Not
a verb.
Human beings
are nouns.
Unless we
let ourselves
be.
To be
is to exist.
It is an act.
It is a verb.
It is the state of being
we came here, very likely,
to experience, examine,
try on, grow into. And from,
this quantum mechanical
state of both wave and
particle simultaneously,
instantaneously being
one and the same.
Not easy to grok.
Multiversity, likewise,
is a noun, not a verb,
defining “a large university
with many different
departments.”
According to the dictionary.
Confined to ivory towers.
But not according to
the reality we are
born to live.
Full spectrum.
Energy is neither
created nor destroyed.
It can only be converted
from one form
to another.
This is a fact of life
on planet earth.
There are no
two ways
about it.
It is.
I am.
You are.
We are
all that is.
In all its fractal,
faceted, myriad
configurations.
Lots of forms,
lots and lots of
conversions.
Endless
expressions
of life living.
Stone, leaf,
dragonfly, newt,
flower, snake, cloud,
copper, fire, ocean, chickadee,
hoarfrost, wildebeest, rose quartz,
pine tree, luna moth, hippopotamus,
hummingbird, narwhal,
fruit fly… .
Forces,
factors,
of nature.
Chinese myth has yin
yang borne out of the chaos
of this universe coming into form,
and holds that deep inside
mother earth these two
co-equal forces of
creation exist
in harmony.
Making plenty
again and again
and again.
It is valuable instruction,
this going deep inside
to the center of our
earthly being to
find this
plenty.
For within us all
resides the harmony
of our heart pulsing our
blood through the entire
universe of vessels that hold,
convey our existence in this
fleshy matter—all 100,000
miles of it. Until the day
our form merges back
into the formlessness
of potential.
Our blood traveling
12,000 miles in an
average day.
Considering current
global life expectancy for
humans in 2020 is 72.63 years,
that’s 318,119,400 miles!
Arteries, veins, capillaries,
each, all, perform their role
in the overall operation of
keeping the body electric.
Magnetic.
Like to like.
And, critically,
difference to
difference.
Proton to electron,
fall to spring, seed
to flower, fire to water,
east to west,
life to life.
Each one
distinct, all
interdependent,
making the whole
synergistically greater
for the sum of its
manifold parts.
Trees of a forest primeval
connected through vast ranges
of microscopic mycelia, so like the
dendrites and synapses of our
ancient and ever becoming
neural woodlands.
In both regions,
the head, the heart,
there are twos and
fours, pairs and quads,
hemispheres, directions,
elements—there are
differences, but there
is no opposition here,
no opponent, just
symmetry.
Symmetry: similarity
or exact correspondence
between different things.
In physics, symmetry is
a law or operation in which
a physical property or process
has an equivalence in two
or more directions.
Kind of like us, no?
if we should see in the mirror
of each other that which we
cannot see in our own
looking glass, not
without distortion.
So it is the THIRD
eye that must see
what the other two
cannot quite. Yet.
But if we’re willing
to look beyond this
limitation, what might
we glimpse in the whites
of their eyes, the pitch
pupilled center
of our own?
The twain
shall meet, do meet
merge, mingle, coalesce,
each time we focus,
think a thought,
take a breath,
wake up.
Day in.
Day out.
We are wired to grow
from the simple to the complex
to the ever and ever more
complex without
even trying.
Expansion
is written in
our mortal,
immortal
code.
It is this clear
vision we are
called to
now.
However dim
the overhead
light, however
slanting the
sun’s shine.
Seeing in the
dark takes time
to adjust.
Adapt.
Resilience is
evolution.
And evolution
is ascension.
Ascending
to a new range
and frequency of
existence on
this plane.
From 'yes, but'
to 'yes, and'
can be a
life’s work.
Or hundreds.
"Peace comes
piece by piece,"
says the Yogi tea
fob. Each of us an
indelible piece
of this puzzle
of existence.
Each of us
gifted with a singular
bit of the ever-expanding
whole that seeks, in all
ways, shapes, colors,
perspectives, at all
times, to be unified
in the experience
that is reality.
A patchwork,
a maelstrom,
a frequency,
a hologram,
a seeing.
It is the work
of stardust
and water.
And quintessence.
If our perspective is
limited to that which
the human eye sees
when it looks through
lenses proffered by the
business of ’seeing,’ it
will see opacity, it will
see shadow, it can’t
not.
And that shadow
can loom large.
Massive, even,
engulfing all
that is—light
and dark.
Seeing through
the faceted optics
of our multiversity
what’s in the dark—what
grows there, lives there, takes
form and purpose there—from secrets
and superstitions and bogeymen, yes, to fireflies,
comets, crystals, nematodes, zygotes, bioluminescent
wonders of deep sea canyons—far beyond
the conditioned mind’s spectrum,
takes time to adjust.
Accept.
Accede.
Admit.
Allow.
Adapt.
Ascend.
This
is that
time.

Eve Moore: Once a professional writer of advertising, I saw the light & it has shown me words of a different nature. And so I take them down & offer them up. And all is well.
“When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.”
