Is What We Perceive As Beautiful An Individual Decision Of The Mind?

Dear Friends,
I am sure you all have heard before the expression “beauty lies in the eye of the beholder”. It is an often used quote when people are talking about falling in love with somebody, who for others is hard to imagine as a match. In this particular context it refers to the fact that relationship love is an irrational thing and that falling for somebody is rather a colorful mix of reasons, than what can be seen on the surface alone.
In most mythologies on this planet, we find the representative of love, beauty, music, joy and color to be the same figure, for example in Egyptian tradition the goddess Hathor. This is helpful for us to know when we desire to develop a deeper understanding of the divine feminine energy, or a profounder connection to the vibrations that inspire our creativity.
But that is not all that a study of beauty can do. It can serve for each of us, as well as for the collective awakening process into the Golden Age of Aquarius, as there is also a spiritual aspect to beauty. Imagine you are training your mind to evaluate all experiences you make from the same space of recognizing its beauty. Imagine whatever weather the day brings, you decide that it is beautiful. In order to do so we need to be capable of detecting the seductive side of beauty, and separating it from the nurturing side, which for some of us is a long term project on our personal path of growth :-).
Prayer to Hathor as Goddess of Love:
Let me worship the Golden One to honor her Majesty,
and exalt the Lady of Heaven;
Let me give adoration to Hathor
and songs of joy to my heavenly Mistress!
I beg her to hear my petitions
that she send me my mistress now!
And she came herself to see me!
What a great thing that was when it happened!
I rejoiced, I was glad, I was exalted,
from the moment they said, “Oh, look at her!
See, here she comes!” – and the young men bowing
trough their enormous passion for her.
Let me consecrate breath to my Goddess
that she give me my Love as a gift!
It is four days now I have prayed in her name;
let her be with me today!
John L.Foster
It is amazing how complete is the delusion that beauty is goodness.
Leo TolstoyThat’s always seemed so ridiculous to me, that people want to be around someone because they’re pretty. It’s like picking your breakfast cereals based on color instead of taste.
John GreenThe human soul is hungry for beauty; we seek it everywhere – in landscape, music, art, clothes, furniture, gardening, companionship, love, religion and in ourselves. No-one would desire not to be beautiful. When we experience the Beautiful, there is a sense of homecoming. Some of our most wonderful memories are of beautiful places where we felt immediately at home. We feel most alive in the presence of the Beautiful for it meets the needs of our soul.
John O’DonohueWhen we contemplate the whole globe as one great dewdrop, striped and dotted with continents and islands, flying through space with other stars all singing and shining together as one, the whole universe appears as an infinite storm of beauty.
John MuirDon’t get me wrong, I admire elegance and have an appreciation of the finer things in life. But to me, beauty lies in simplicity.
Mark HymanThere is a beauty and clarity that comes from simplicity that we sometimes do not appreciate in our thirst for intricate solutions.
Dieter F. UchtdorfOur task must be to free ourselves by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty.
Albert EinsteinMy belief is that we were put into this world of wonders and beauty with a special ability to appreciate them, in some cases to have the fun of taking a hand in developing them, and also in being able to help other people instead of overreaching them and, through it all, to enjoy life – that is, to be happy.
Robert Baden-Powell
Dear Ones, I hope you are feeling inspired by this little collection of information, and that you can see the amazing beauty you can add to the creation of the Golden Age of Aquarius on planet earth right now. Allow me to close this piece with an advice by Marcus Aurelius “Dwell on the beauty of life. Watch the stars, and see yourself running with them.”.
Love and Blessings!
