The patterns of behaviour humans show throughout their lifetimes will usually link back to and be a product of either their childhood experiences, the love or lack of it they have known and how they view themselves in their relationships to others.

Can destructive or negative behaviours be changed? Absolutely?

Is it easy? Absolutely not, but belief and the drive to create a better life are powerful forces that can alter a person’s world forever.

The phoenix is a symbol of rebirth that does not require a death to occur. How is it possible for a person to be reborn when they have not died? Is it really possible for someone who has lived a great part of their lives already to change their perceptions of themselves and to turn their negative patterns of behaviour around, creating a better life for themselves and their loved ones?

The answer lies in the need to change within the person themselves. They may grow tired of attracting the same responses from others which culminate in cycles repeating themselves. They may not be taking responsibility for their circumstances at all, blaming their poor choices on others and playing the victim. It is not until karma comes full circle that these people may be forced into changes that could potentially save their lives and create new doorways for change that they never thought possible. Many people have chosen to accept the need to change; however, there are many people in the world right now playing the blame game and refusing to accept that the responsibility to change the circumstances of their lives lies solely with them.

A spiritual rebirth is a profound experience because it is a call from the soul to stop and re-route back to the person’s divine plan. While it is true that many people living in extremely hard circumstances have chosen to do so because they have lessons to learn and old karma to repay, it is not necessary for a person to spend a whole lifetime learning one lesson. That is a very long path to enlightenment indeed! Lessons can be learnt early on in the piece, if the person is open and willing to accept the consequences that the lesson may bring. An old soul who has lived thousands of lifetimes is much more likely to resolve karma and contracts of learning quickly than a soul who has avoided reincarnation for fear of losing their way within the lessons of life.

Spiritual rebirth can be gradual, or it can be lightening fast. It can be unexpected, and it can also bring in new challenges to be faced. Whatever the circumstances, the phoenix cannot rise out of the ashes until the past has been laid to rest. Whether a person is displaying profound trauma, anger, extremist beliefs or self-sabotaging behaviour, the secret to rebirth is self-examination and an openness to listen and take notice of the signs that the problem lies with them. For a person to change their behaviours, they must change their belief systems, and that can be a very difficult thing to do, particularly when those in their company are so adamant that their beliefs are right.

It is crucially important for every human on Earth now to examine their behaviours in a brutally honest way and to ask themselves why it is necessary to hurt or harm their fellow humans, to be so destructive, to hate so many or to find ways to torture themselves about the past? Nothing will change in the world around you if you cannot see that your choices are based on the thoughts that are created by your belief systems.

At the end of every day, the only person who can truly be blamed for behaviour that causes disruption in their lives or the lives of others is yourself. Yes, there may be triggers, but the choices you make and the way you behave is a direct consequence of how you perceive yourself due to the way you have been treated by others or because of trauma your soul has accrued over time. Accepting that there is a need for change is one thing, but asking for help to do it can be difficult for many.

You are the only person who can create change in your life. You are the only one who can acknowledge that what you think and believe may not be creating the best life for yourself, and to examine the reasons why you are behaving in negative or destructive ways. You may not need to change everything. There may be just one person to forgive, one grudge to get over, one sword to lay to rest for your life to get back on track, or there may be many. Whatever is happening for you, acknowledging that YOU need to change is the first step.

Ask for help, and it will be given, but you must take responsibility and be prepared to ride out the consequences. In the long term, you will never look back.
