The Decisive Element

How do we release our grip? Some individuals perceive anchoring themselves to something as an act of courage, strength, and honor.
However, these signs and adjectives are more fitting for letting go rather than holding on. There are moments when it takes audacious bravery to recognize that letting go is a means of survival. Letting go is not synonymous with failure; instead, it is the gateway to triumph.
Letting go does not imply apathy towards a person, thing, event, circumstance, or any other element that has ensnared you in hopelessness. Letting go signifies that those things have fulfilled their purpose, teaching, shaping, embracing, and granting you a sense of liberation. Letting go entails finally releasing that which exerted significant control over your life. It also means freeing yourself from shame and guilt. It involves surrendering to the acceptance that circumstances can no longer persist without drastic measures.
Letting go extends far beyond making life-altering decisions. When it comes to releasing people and relationships, we often cling desperately, leaving marks on the rocks as we hang onto the side of a cliff. We navigate a precarious tightrope from one valley to another. It is astonishing to witness the lengths we go to force a circle into a square. It is truly remarkable to experience the liberation that accompanies letting go of control. The illusion of control diminishes our self-worth. Fear of change, combined with the fear of failure, leads to stagnation and heartache.
All we need to do is confront those aspects of our lives that no longer serve our spirit. The word “can’t” has no place in our vocabulary. We must take action! Perhaps today is not the day to let go, maybe not tomorrow, but at some point in our lives, we will need to release the past. We will need to reprogram and reinvent ourselves. Releasing those things that no longer serve us becomes the decisive element.
“Come to the cliff,” he said. They replied, “We are afraid.” “Come to the cliff,” he said. They came. He pushed them. And they flew.”
I love you!
