As Snowy Owl and Shooting Star climbed the path to the Star Temple they felt excited about the message they were about to receive at this New Moon ceremony. They had been to see the Shaman earlier in the day and he told them Sister Moon would cover part of Grandfather Sun. But he also told them they must not look at the Sun directly as it would hurt their eyes so he gave them special filters to look through.

Once the sisters were settled in the Star Temple they looked to the west direction and covered their eyes with the special filters. Then they saw the Dark Moon begin to cover Grandfather Sun. Usually Luna was invisible at the New Moon so it was inspiring to see her dark orb appear to take a bite out of the Solar Disk.

Sister Moon spoke “We are at an ending and a beginning. It is time to release fear that limits and restricts. It is time to go deeply within the self and discover your inner power. This is not power in the old way of controlling and manipulating others. This is Soul Power. In the far away time there is an expression for this journey that is called the dark night of the Soul. It is actually the dark night of the ego. In human beings it is the ego that lives in fear. It is the Soul that lives in Love. At this New Moon you are re-creating yourselves and will continue on that journey for the next four Moon cycles. The key message this time is release, release, release. Release anything that stands in the way of you becoming your true self. Snake, shedding the old, and The Phoenix, resurrection and re-birth, are the Sacred Guides walking with you on this journey. This is the New Moon of Transformation.”

Snowy Owl and Shooting Star felt the power of Sister Moon’s message. They were ready to go on the journey of re-creating themselves.

This Solar Eclipse is visible for parts of North America with the eastern seaboard seeing the least coverage of the Moon crossing the Sun. Northern latitudes cities (Yellowknife, Whitehorse, Calgary and Edmonton) will see 70 to 78 percent of the Sun being covered by the Moon. A word of caution here, NEVER look directly at the Sun without using special filters for your eyes. This is a Partial Eclipse so astronomically is not considered as powerful as a Total Solar eclipse. We will have to wait until August 21, 2017 for that. But spiritually this New Moon Eclipse is very powerful.  

Scorpio is the most intense astrological sign in the Zodiac. It is Fixed Water but underneath the icy exterior the water (emotion) runs deep. The principle of Scorpio is death, transformation, and rebirth. In the Northern Hemisphere this process is most evident as the trees have shed their leaves and the plants have withered. But this is also the time of re-birth. Releasing the old to make space for the new. Scorpio also connects us with the energy of the Dark Goddess, the time when the Sacred Yin energy grows strong as night becomes dominant.

This New Moon is pure Scorpio as the lunation occurs at 00 degrees Scorpio 25 minutes. Anyone with planets within 4 degrees of this Eclipse (conjunctions, squares, inconjuncts, oppositions) will be challenged to let-go of the old and embrace the new. Sextiles and trines will feel a little easier but the message is the same. It is time to re-create yourself. This Scorpio New Moon Solar Eclipse is supporting us all to heal, transform, and experience re-birth. It is the first of 4 Moon cycles that are really intense. On Nov 22 we have a New Moon at 00 degrees Sagittarius (spiritual consciousness and vision). On Dec 21/22 depending on your time zone a New Moon at 00 degrees Capricorn (Soul Purpose Path) and Jan 20, 2015 a New Moon at 00 degrees Aquarius (giving your spiritual gifts to the World. But you must let go of the fear that limits and restricts you now so you will be ready to receive the gifts of the above New Moons.

The astrological symbols for the sign of Scorpio are the Scorpion, who stings and destroys, the Eagle who soars high with keen vision but is detached, and the Phoenix-Dove who understands the Healing Power of Universal Love.  Scorpio can express any of these energies but most often it is the Scorpion or the Eagle. This New Moon Eclipse asks us all to become the Phoenix-Dove and heal and transform the world through LOVE.

The Sun and the Moon are joined by Venus at 00 degrees Scorpio 03 minutes and Pallas Athene at 01 degree Scorpio 56 minutes. Venus is the harmonizer of the Universe and in Scorpio she supports us to release fear and embrace Love. Pallas is the Goddess who symbolizes creative intelligence and wisdom but is also the Warrior Queen. In Scorpio she helps us get to the core of an issue and find the right modality to heal it.  Together with the Moon they are powerful feminine allies giving us the guidance we need to listen to our own wisdom and embrace our inner power.  All these Scorpio energies are trine (ease and harmony) Neptune in Pisces. Neptune is a symbol for illusion or enlightenment. In Pisces he connects us to the Oneness Of All and the support from Great Mystery that is always there for us.

The ruler of this Scorpio New Moon is Pluto in Capricorn (transforming society). Heaven knows society is in need of deep healing and transformation. Pluto is opposite the Asteroid Hygiea, the Goddess of health and healing in the sign of Cancer, our emotions. They are both square Uranus in Aries, breaking through the old patterns to become the authentic self.  We have said many times before Great Mystery always supports us on our journey to wholeness. The Soul Centered ruler for this New Moon eclipse is Mars at 28 degrees Sagittarius. He has just crossed the Galactic Center of the Milky Way, the place of great Mystical Power and the theme of death, transformation, and rebirth.

As our story told us Snake, shedding the old and healing into the new. Is our Medicine Wheel guide along with the Sacred Totem for Scorpio The Phoenix, re-birth. Spider Medicine is also a guide for Scorpio, weaving a new life pattern. The Clan Mother for this Scorpio New Moon Eclipse cycle is Walks Tall Woman. She is the guardian of walking the truth and teaches the proper use of will as you walk your talk. She is the keeper of personal integrity and inner knowing. She is the guardian of new pathways and teaches the right time to take action. Walks Tall Woman is also the keeper of your relationship to Great Mystery and guides you as you journey within The Source of All That Is. Scorpio is active on the Tarot Constellation of The Emperor, the principle of Life Force and Realization of Power. This is not the ego power of manipulation and control but the strength of honesty and trust in your Soul Essence Guidance. The Tarot Card associated with Scorpio is the Death card. This is a metaphor for releasing the old that no longer serves and stepping into the new. That is the purpose for this New Moon of Transformation. The other energies of The Emperor are Aries and Uranus and of course the planet called the Awakener is in Aries and plays a part in this New Moon message.

The Ray of this Scorpio New Moon and Eclipse is the Fourth Ray of Harmony Through Conflict or Beauty. It is the Ray of the human kingdom and you just have to listen to the news to know that the conflicts in the world the two-leggeds have instigated are currently escalating. It is also the Ray of the Root Chakra, fear or strength. The other astrological sign on this Ray is Taurus and that is the aspect of Beauty. In our current Lunation the Earth is in Taurus (whatever sign the Sun is in the Earth is in the opposite sign) and that is reminding us of the Beauty of this most precious planet. As humans it is our responsibility to bring the Earth Mother back into balance through harmony. As Gandhi said “be the change you want to see in the world.” It is time for the two leggeds to value, support, and honour All That Is and release the old ways.

The Archangels who guide us for this New Moon and Eclipse cycle (the cycle takes us to March/April 2015) are Gabriel, the angel of transformation and resurrection, and Hope, the angel of trust and faith. You can call on them at any time when you need to be reminded to have faith and trust in yourself on this Transformational Journey to your Sacred Self. Also work with the Medicine of Snake and the Phoenix Dove and releasing what no longer serves you will be more effortless than you ever thought it could be.
