As most of you know, the December 2020 Solstice conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn at 1 Aquarius launched new 20 and 200 year eras. This Lunation helps us get clear about some ideal with the need for quick action. We’ve done our Mercury and Venus reviews and now are ready to show our stuff!

I’ll speak more about the bigger picture after the Sabian Symbols. For now, let’s take a closer look at this initiating, idealistic, demonstrative and clarifying Lunation which allows us to show how we’ve trained to demonstrate our skill in some way, or take responsibility for something. This one brings news ways to look at “life and death processes” as we figure out how to nourish those who come to us for nourishment.

We are still in a time when the old answers cannot confirm the new conditions of existence and the old approaches won’t get the job done. Pluto is giving us platform for the future of knowing how to be joyous while using our spiritual knowledge. With Saturn in Pisces, this is a time to practice “practical compassion,” which requires a specific focus. What’s yours? What is your purpose for doing or not doing something? Be willing to do your own thing in your own way, and allow others the same. When you know what your responsibilities are and aren’t, there is a peace in simply doing what we’re supposed to be doing.

Because the Full Moon fulfills the themes of the previous New Moon, in this case the recent New Moon at 22 Virgo, we have been offered a new look at old “venerable standards” in our lives, especially since that’s also Mercury’s stationary RX degree. We are now seeing the light and power of our standards as they move into a more archetypal and/or ideal form of expression.

As this Full Moon has Sun in Libra and Moon in Aries, the Light of a social or emotional ideal can be expressed through Aries sense of direct action as it self-mobilizes on its own terms. Because Libra/Aries is the axis of the archetype of the Lover, or Relator, we can now be at ease in our dance with others, being flexible as we move through the normal transactions of life.

The Sun in Air and the Moon in Fire shows a time of the Cardinal Air (associative interactivity) of Libra expressing its refined ideal view through the Cardinal Fire (Inspiration) of Aries. Because Libra is so strong, find a harmony of balanced interactive activity while taking measured steps into the future. At this time, remember the journey of a thousand miles requires only that we take a single step, continuing to do so until we reach our goal.

At this time, 3 planets are in the first third of their sign, 1 planet is in the second third of their signs, and 6 planets are in the last third of their signs. This indicates a heavy emphasis on the individual, mental, and spiritual levels of life, with a strong focus on the actional-material levels and very little action on the social/emotional levels of life. Of note is the Spiritual Triad occupying the end of their signs, approaching the completion of their many years in each.

Why Are Full Moons So Important?

At a Full Moon, that which has opened since the previous New Moon surfaces in a public form, and heads toward the culmination and fruition symbolized by the second half of any cycle. First half, birth into form and field. Second half, culmination and completion of the purpose of that cycle.

That’s why it’s important to regard the New and Full Moon charts as “God’s Footprints in Time,” since one follows the other in an unending sequence of births of newer and newer seeds. The New Moons show us the seeds that will flourish under the reflected light of the Full Moon.

Full Moons heighten feelings, due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun. We are now in a time of the year when the inner planets are making oppositions to the outer planets from mid-July through mid-November. The 2 forming oppositions in this chart involve the Moon opposed the Sun, and the wider Mercury opposed Neptune. As I mentioned in part 1, those oppositions are this chart’s “Tension of Opposites,” creating an “awareness generator” focused between 19-28 Virgo-Pisces and 4-8 Libra/Aries.

Dispositors - What's the Backdrop to the Energies?

The Sun is in Libra, making Venus its ruler. The Moon is in Aries, ruled by Mars in Libra. Mars is ruled by Venus in Leo, which in turn is ruled by the Sun. That makes the Sun and Venus in a very powerful “Mutual Reception,” a closed circuit of energies which reinforce each other. Other than these, Mercury is in its home sign of Virgo, and so rules itself. Jupiter is ruled by Venus, Saturn is ruled by Jupiter, Uranus is ruled by Venus, Pluto by Saturn, and as usual, Neptune is a “standalone” planet, ruling itself.

That makes the Sun/Venus Mutual Reception the ruler of all the other planets except Mercury and Neptune, which are standalone “final dispositors.” By looking at how “chains of dispositors,” “final dispositors,” and “mutual reception” are in play between the planets, we get a clear picture of the backdrop for how each planet operates. The Magic of Venus: Friendships, Soul Mates, and Twin Flames

Venus in Leo is an essential part of the Mutual Reception, and therefore a key to how the Sun, Mars, Jupiter and Uranus function for the next two weeks. In the case of Jupiter, it’ll be powerful through the first few months of 2024.

In this chart, Venus is on a degree of “a bareback rider,” where we can “put on the show” based in our training to master “our senses and our emotions.” We can now more fully utilize our inner powers as we stand in a “fork in the road of destiny” in at least one relationship and maybe more.

Venus is now making its third pass between 13 and 29 Leo, promising great good fun for many, and as long as we don’t overdo it! We’re done with Venus square Jupiter, and now can move forward after the life renewal indicated by its retrograde. Venus is a very powerful influence at this time, and has given us all a new appreciation of our Leo energies.

The Sabian Symbols for the Full Moon

This Full Moon falls at 6 Libra and 6 Aries. It is said that the first third (decan) of any sign deals with the actional and material levels of life, and as the Lunation is in the first decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of Libra and Aries.

Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the Lunation, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take. Though I’ve given you a sense of what this is about up to now, here’s where we go into detail.

The Solar degree symbol for the 6th degree of Libra is “The ideals of a man abundantly crystallized.” In the original Jones class notes Dane Rudhyar published in The Astrology of Personality, he states this degree is one of “inevitable confrontation with the concrete results of one’s ideals,” “lessons to be learned from it,” and “willingness of heart.”

In The Astrological Mandala, he goes on to say that this degree is about “the need to visualized clearly one’s dreams or ideals in order to make them truly effectual.” He states “the process of interior visualization can be quite essential, except in the case of a creative individual who has become a totally pure channel for the descent of spiritual Power, and a clear lens through which the Archetype… can be projected.”

He continues that sometimes the “creative act is less direct: a (person) projects into the world what (they) have “seen” reflected on the screen of (their) individualized consciousness.” He offers that this is “a phase of interior formulation in preparation for a creative projection of one’s ideals or concepts.” He says this degree falls in the Span of Expectation, Act of Group Integration, and Scene of Transfiguration on the Emotional-Cultural level.

Dr. Jones says this is a degree of “experience as the practical or everyday substantiation of inner insight and conscious understanding.” He continues “idealistic reality is found to be sheer escapism of ever taken by itself or given any authority on its own account, but is the sole dynamic for the human spirit whenever any individual actually stands face to face with his opportunity.”

He finishes with stating that “implicit here is the realization that (our) Being has its beginning in the meaning with which it is endowed.” He offers us the keyword PERSONIFICATION, and states that when operating in a positive manner, this degree “is power through the full employment of imagination for the discovery and development of human potentiality.”

The Lunar degree symbol for the 6th degree of Aries is “A square brightly lighted on one side.” In the The Astrology of Personality, where Rudhyar uses the original Dr. Jones' class notes on the symbols, 6 Aries is said to be a degree of “primal effort toward individual selfhood,” “first and uncontrolled interest in any given thing,” and “great inner restlessness.”

In The Astrological Mandala he offers that this degree is one of an “emotional desire for concrete and stabilized existence as a person, with a “desire for individualization” which focuses on “an exclusive goal.” He says this is a polarized emotional phase where all that is not of “the tribe” becomes the “potential enemy.”

He continues that this “first attempt at building an inner realization of integral being may be defeated at any time by the regressive pull toward undifferentiation and …nonindividualization,” and so this phase could be described as “a one-sided urge for inner stability.” He states this degree falls in the Span of Realization, Act of Differentiation and Scene of Desire on the Emotional-Cultural level.

Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, says this is a degree of “experience as the over-all sustainment of any personal or conscious being.” He continues “a materialistic reality is found to be sheer illusion when taken of itself or given any power on its own account, but it also is discovered to be the servant of every human impulse whenever life … achieves a motivation and an effective appreciation of its own nature.”

He closes with “Implicit here is the realization that things are given their fundamental ordering as they are accepted in consciousness.” He offers the keyword SET, and states that when operating positively, the degree is “the absolute unimpeachability of a genuine self-direction.”

From these symbols it seems the next two weeks we’ll see the Light of emotional-social visualization involving “interior formulation” and insight showing us opportunities to be seized. This is an entrance into a new social or emotional archetypal state, where we can express a more ideal Self to our world. Be willing to grow, and/or take responsibility for the appearance of something you’ve been formulating for a while.

The Lunar symbol, also on the parallel emotional-social entry degree, shows the Light will find expression through a new interest, a new form of instinctive self-expression, or a new feeling about what we want to show our world and what we don’t. This is a new initiative in expression to escape the pull of the past.

We’re in an Era of Overlapping Capricorn and Aquarius Cycles

As you know by now, we had numerous important long wave conjunctions in January 2020 which were set into motion in March 2020, including a 12 year cycle and a 33 year cycle! Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto all made conjunctions in Capricorn in January and March 2020 which were activated by Mars in March 2020. Mars completed its run at its conjunction with Saturn at 1 Aquarius which also set long wave preliminary Aquarian structures into play which are expanding and currently taking shape for the next 16-17 years.

We’re seeing the competition between the Capricorn and Aquarian cycles play out in the world between the regressives and the progressives, between the forces of control and the forces which resist control, and between the materialists and the idealists. The Capricorn cycles will be in play for many years to come, but by mid-century they will wane while the Aquarian cycles will have become dominant.

That “Great Compression” of planets in early 2020 created a very crowded house in a very narrow span of degrees, impacting where we have late Capricorn for many years to come. Add the three conjunctions of Jupiter with Pluto as it transited back and forth over the January and March degree points, and we’ve had a lot of long wave Pluto energies expanded which will show effects over the next decade! TransPluto, Divine Mother, and the Tests of Human Redemption

I’ve included this section for many years to keep you all aware of the workings of Divine Mother on our Earth in this Age in Transition. Rather than simply reprint it each month, I created this material as a separate article unto itself a while back. At the 2020 World Teacher Full Moon of Sun in Gemini and Moon in Sagittarius I gave you a universal prayer/meditation offered to us by the Tibetan Master D.K. in April 1945 at the end of the war. Tens of millions around the world do this prayer every Full Moon, tuning into the Whole which we ALL are together. I said it every day for many years, and still say it every Full Moon. (It was a real trip to see eyes suddenly open and/or lightbulbs go on over people’s heads when I did it countless times riding the NYC subways when I lived there in the early 80s!)

In 1976 I changed a few words to make it more universal. For your consideration,

The Great Invocation

From the point of Light within the mind of God
Let Light stream forth into the minds of All,
Let Light descend on Earth

From the point of Love within the heart of God
Let Love stream forth into the hearts of All
May Christ return to Earth

From the center where the Will of God is known
Let Purpose guide the little Wills of All
The Purpose which the Masters know and serve

From the center which we call the Human Race
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.

Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.

Again, as I’ve offered you many times before, when you see the title "The Christ" if you are so inclined please substitute "World Teacher," "Bodhisattva," "Imam Madhi," "Krishna," “Kristos,” "Avalokiteshvara," "Maitreya," "Messiah," or any other term used to describe this Great Being. And if you substitute “Enlightened Ones” or “Wise Ones” for “Masters” I doubt it would offend anyone.
