As most of you know, the December 2020 Solstice conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn at 1 Aquarius launched new 20 and 200 year eras. This Lunation helps us engage this year’s renewed Aquarian energies as we experience the last great compression for over 300 years.

I’ll speak more about the bigger picture after the Sabian Symbols. For now, let’s take a closer look at this self-sacrificing, intuitive, empathic, and specializing Full Moon occurring at 4:30 am PST on February 24 at 6 Pisces/Virgo.

Because Venus is conjunct Mars in Aquarius, this activates last month’s Aquarian renewal. As we are now clearer about what roles are enjoyable to us as we move into a larger future, we can move forward with “responsible confidence” in the forms of “mastery” we’ve achieved. This is another “fork in the road of destiny” Full Moon, with cooperative collective initiatives as well as a retreat from old projections.

January and February are the times each year when the long wave Aquarian energies set into motion in 2020-2021 are renewed, so stay focused on how you can contribute to a greater “civilizing” effort with others with an eye to the new, the ideal, the larger sense of purpose you’ve been glimpsing since then. This is a harvest time of the year as we prepare for a great renewal once the Sun enters Aries.

As this Full Moon has Sun in Pisces and Moon in Virgo, the Light of a greater compassion and connection with collective consciousness can be expressed through Virgo’s humble and efficient willingness to serve. This is the Light of group feeling-connections and non-local awareness expressed through Divine discernment ordering or reordering what is. This is a Piscean Light expressed through a Virgo practical service, and begins a two week rededication to a greater ideal we’re committed to.

Because Pisces/Virgo is the axis of the Archetype of the Healer, Shaman, Guide, and Priest(ess), we can forgive much, bless much, and be good guides, steering ourselves and others out of old ways into new lives. This allows us to see clearly what needs closure to achieve the most effective material, emotional, or mental health which can be attained. This is self-adjustment as a prelude to a new life.

The Sun in Water and the Moon in Earth shows a time of the Mutable Water (distributive feeling flow of experience) of Pisces expressing its unifying Light through the Mutable Earth (distributive practical service) of Virgo. This is the second in a run of three Full Moons on the social and emotional levels in their signs, momentarily disrupting a run which has been about getting clear on the actional and material levels of our existence.

At this time, 7 planets are in the first third of their sign, 2 planets are in the second third of their signs, and 1 planet is in the last third of their signs. This indicates a very heavy emphasis on the actional-material levels levels of life, with a somewhat diminished emphasis on the social and emotional levels and almost NO focus on the individual, mental, and spiritual levels, with only Neptune bringing energies related to the individual/spiritual levels of life. Of note is the Spiritual Triad now are occupying different sectors while still approaching the completion of their many years in each.

Why Are Full Moons So Important?

At a Full Moon, that which has opened since the previous New Moon surfaces in a public form, and heads toward the culmination and fruition symbolized by the second half of any cycle. First half, birth into form and field. Second half, culmination and completion of the purpose of that cycle.

That’s why it’s important to regard the New and Full Moon charts as “God’s Footprints in Time,” since one follows the other in an unending sequence of births of newer and newer seeds. The New Moons show us the seeds that will flourish under the reflected light of the Full Moon.

Full Moons heighten feelings, due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun. We are now in a time of the year when the inner planets have finished opposing the outer planets. In this chart there is only one opposition involving the Moon opposing the Sun and Saturn, and by Translation of Light, Mercury. This creates an “awareness generator” focused between 1-12 Pisces/Virgo.

Dispositors - What's the Backdrop to the Energies?

The Sun is in Pisces, making Jupiter in Taurus its ruler. The Moon is in Virgo, making Mercury in Pisces her ruler. Jupiter in Taurus is ruled by Venus in Aquarius which is ruled by Saturn. Mercury in Pisces is ruled by Jupiter. Venus and Mars in Aquarius are both ruled by Saturn, Saturn is ruled by Jupiter, Uranus in Taurus is ruled by Venus, Pluto is ruled by Saturn, and as usual, Neptune is a “standalone” planet, ruling itself.

That makes Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn the main players in this chart, as they form a “chain of dispositors” which rule all the other planets except for Neptune who is its own “final dispositor.” By looking at how “chains of dispositors,” “final dispositors,” and “mutual reception” are in play between the planets, we get a clear picture of the backdrop for how each planet operates. The Magic of Venus: Friendships, Soul Mates, and Twin Flames

Venus in Aquarius is a main player as a member of the chain of dispositors as the ruler of both Jupiter and Uranus. This will make Her very prominent through these first months of 2024, with even more influence coming once She enters Pisces, the sign of her exaltation which will put Her in a Mutual Reception quintile and sextile with Jupiter for most of March!

In this chart She is square Jupiter, helping release the harmonious energies generated by Jupiter’s sextile from the Sun and to Saturn. That shows the next 2 weeks should be extremely productive as we end what needs ending and find our harvest of “the garden of life and mind.” This will be very favorable for planets we have in the first 10 degrees of the Earth and Water signs.

The Sabian Symbols for the Full Moon

This Full Moon falls at 6 6 Pisces and 6 Virgo. It is said that the first third (decan) of any sign deals with the actional, material, and physical levels of life, and as the Lunation is in the first decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of Pisces (Jupiter with an added dose of Saturn) and Virgo (Mercury with an added dose of the Sun).

Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the Lunation, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take. Though I’ve given you a sense of what this is about up to now, here’s where we go into detail.

The Solar degree symbol for the 6th degree of Pisces is “Officers on dress parade.” In the original Marc Jones class notes on the symbols published in The Astrology of Personality, Rudhyar says this is a degree of “Self-exaltation through consecration to the task of defending collective values,” “self-testing,” and “perception of high goals.”

We are told in The Astrological Mandala that this symbolizes “the4 dedication of human beings to the service of their community, and the assurance that it will be emotionally sustained by the people at large.” He offers that this is a degree of “the emotion-rousing appeal of social activities which demand the surrendering by the individual of his personal way of life, his opinions, and his comfort.” This is part of the “socializing process” and he says what is implied “is the support that the socialized person can expect from the collectivity” if they act as a representative of that group.

He continues that this degree “allegorizes the power generated by a totally accepted and enforced collective discipline, and the exaltation and mass response” which those who serve the collective can expect in return. He gives as the keywords “group responsibility,” and states this degree falls in the span of Innocence, and it’s the initiating degree in the emotional and social level of the scene of Federationtion in the Act of Capitalization.

According to Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, this degree is one of “a cyclic and necessary intensification of any personal being” in the way of “ritualized or ideal experience.” He says “dignity and protocol always provide a dramatic and valuable rehearsal of cultural or group values, exalting each individual in some … respect for the strengthening of all in their total pattern.”

He offers that “here is an investment of selfhood for the long-range potentialities of life, made possible by some immediate and self-fulfilling demonstration of personal skill or capacity.”

He offers us the keyword DISCIPLINE, and states when operating in a positive way, this symbol represents “schooled self-assurance and absolute responsibility.”

The Lunar degree symbol for the 6th degree of Virgo is “a merry-go-round.” In the original Jones notes published in The Astrology of Personality, Rudhyar says this degree is one of "unfearing plunge into life," "the culture of pleasure as a transmuting force," and "endless and futile repetition of experience."

In The Astrological Mandala, he states this degree is about "the first experience of the dynamic intensity of life processes and of the possibility of using them to reach a characteristic ego-satisfaction." He says the merry-go-round symbolizes the ups and downs of the emotional life, and the round and round motion symbolizes the recurring patterns in our world of outer affairs.

This symbol is said to show us that "any cyclic release of life energy provides us with the opportunity of demonstrating some type of skill and mastery." It is an initiating degree in the social and/or emotional realms where we begin to see that recurring points in life experience offer us chances to show skill to "win a prize or a free ride," to extend the symbolism. Rudhyar says it falls in the span of Idealization, the Process of Individualization, Act of Stabilization, and the Scene of Characterization on the Emotional-Cultural level.

According to Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, we find this degree symbolizes "a cyclic and necessary intensification of any personal being," where "pleasure is the simplest possible form of creative exchange, and it always encourages and refines" our individual "range of potential." He states "here is a receptiveness to every turn of opportunity" and a "willingness to attempt its demonstration."

He offers us the keyword DIVERSION. He states that when operating in a positive way, this degree "is endless and happy resourcefulness in a constant reorientation of self to meet varying exigencies of life."

From these symbols it seems the Light of this Full Moon will help us see a greater dedication to values we believe in, which expresses as tests of skill or dexterity. The Light of “self-testing” and seeing “higher goals” will yield the ability to manage occasional opportunities we’re presented with. The Light of a renewed “consecration” can be expressed by our skills showing us how to understand and/or stabilize some repetitive situation. As the Moon is the handle of the Bucket, it shows that we may find forms of pleasure that help us become more happy and resourceful in new situations that are somehow familiar.

We’re in an Era of Overlapping Capricorn and Aquarius Cycles

As you know by now, we had numerous important long wave conjunctions in January 2020 which were set into motion in March 2020, including a 12 year cycle and a 33 year cycle! Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto all made conjunctions in Capricorn in January and March 2020 which were activated by Mars in March 2020. Mars completed its run at its conjunction with Saturn at 1 Aquarius which also set long wave preliminary Aquarian structures into play which are expanding and currently taking shape for the next 16-17 years. The next few weeks renews that Aquarius pulse, and promises 2024 to be a very “Aquarian” year!

We’re seeing the competition between the Capricorn and Aquarian cycles play out in the world between the regressives and the progressives, between the forces of control and the forces which resist control, and between the materialists and the idealists. The Capricorn cycles will be in play for many years to come, but by mid-century they will wane while the Aquarian cycles will have become dominant.

That “Great Compression” of planets in early 2020 created a very crowded house in a very narrow span of degrees, impacting where we have late Capricorn for many years to come. Add the three conjunctions of Jupiter with Pluto as it transited back and forth over the January and March degree points, and we’ve had a lot of long wave Pluto energies expanded which will show effects over the next decade! TransPluto, Divine Mother, and the Tests of Human Redemption

I’ve included this section for many years to keep you all aware of the workings of Divine Mother on our Earth in this Age in Transition. Rather than simply reprint it each month, I created this material as a separate article unto itself a while back. At the 2020 World Teacher Full Moon of Sun in Gemini and Moon in Sagittarius I gave you a universal prayer/meditation offered to us by the Tibetan Master D.K. in April 1945 at the end of the war. Tens of millions around the world do this prayer every Full Moon, tuning into the Whole which we ALL are together. I said it every day for many years, and still say it every Full Moon. (It was a real trip to see eyes suddenly open and/or lightbulbs go on over people’s heads when I did it countless times riding the NYC subways when I lived there in the early 80s!)

In 1976 I changed a few words to make it more universal. For your consideration,

The Great Invocation

From the point of Light within the mind of God
Let Light stream forth into the minds of All,
Let Light descend on Earth

From the point of Love within the heart of God
Let Love stream forth into the hearts of All
May Christ return to Earth

From the center where the Will of God is known
Let Purpose guide the little Wills of All
The Purpose which the Masters know and serve

From the center which we call the Human Race
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.

Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.

Again, as I’ve offered you many times before, when you see the title "The Christ" if you are so inclined please substitute "World Teacher," "Bodhisattva," "Imam Madhi," "Krishna," “Kristos,” "Avalokiteshvara," "Maitreya," "Messiah," or any other term used to describe this Great Being. And if you substitute “Enlightened Ones” or “Wise Ones” for “Masters” I doubt it would offend anyone.
