Aspects, Evolutionary Configurations, and More.

This Full Moon brings a huge dose of concentrated spiritual energies into our lives as we release the impermanent and refocus our magnetism to that which is enduring, delightful, rewarding, and in line with our need to express our “mature independence.” Because Mercury is still retrograde, we’re still recalibrating, re-visioning, and getting a new angle on things.

This Full Moon fulfills the Aries Total Solar Eclipse New Moon themes, which means we’ve begun a long term process of eliminating all which prevents us from joining with others to overcome a deficiency in some way. We’re all opening to expressing new forms of compassion to others, and this Wesak Full Moon shows that we all will be getting huge doses of spiritual inspiration and “rewards which come upon putting forth effort.”

We continue to have a heavy Pisces, Aries, and Taurus focus, and as Mercury retrograde is conjunct the North Node on its SD degree, withdraw to find a new inspiration and a new connection with your potency. Whether leaving something behind, or jump starting a new activity, or simply enjoying the momentum taking you into a new land and a new life, enjoy the ride since the purifications coming will open space for concrete rewards!

Evolutionary Configurations

This month we have the rare circumstance of only ONE evolutionary configuration, mainly due to all the planets except the Moon being within a 110+ degree span and 8 planets all clustered within 66+ degrees. We continue to be in a period of non-Lunar oppositions until early July when Mercury opposes Pluto. This month the configuration is:

1) Mercury is decile Jupiter and Uranus and quintile Pluto, bringing the Jupiter/Uranus tredecile to Pluto back into play. This activates three points of a “10 Pointed Star of Quintessential Serendipity” promising unique gifts, blessings, and circumstances for people with planets or points near 2-6 Aquarius/Leo, 8-12 Pisces/Virgo, 14-18 Aries/Libra, 20-24 Taurus/Scorpio, and 26-30 Gemini/Sagittarius.

Major Aspects

Besides the various aspects I gave you related to the evolutionary configurations, forming (or partile separating) inner planet aspects include the Moon pentelftile Jupiter and Uranus and biquintile Neptune; Mercury is vigintile the Sun and semisextile Saturn; Venus is semisextile Jupiter and Uranus, decile Saturn, quindecile Neptune and binovile Pluto; and the Sun is novile Mars, vigintile Jupiter and Uranus, and decile Neptune.

Outer planet aspects include Mars conjunct Neptune and septile Pluto; Jupiter is bielftile Saturn, conjunct Uranus, septile Neptune, and tredecile Pluto, all brought into play via Mercury; Saturn is bielftile Uranus and semisquare Pluto; and Uranus is again septile Neptune and tredecile Pluto.

Friction comes from 1 semisquare. Semisquares are internal friction at the beginning or end of a cycle, and to me represent the irritating metaphoric “grain of sand” in the oyster of our lives which creates a pearl or awareness.

This month features a lot of spiritual aspects. In the series related to destiny and “fate,” we find 3 septiles. In the 9th harmonic series related to spiritual realizations, we have 1 novile and 1 binovile. In the 11th harmonic series related to spiritual realizations, we have 2 bielftiles and 1 pentelftile. The specializing aspect series provides us all 6 aspects in the series, with 4 vigintiles, 1 quindecile, 4 deciles, 1 quintile, 2 tredeciles, and 1 biquintile.

For those new to the craft, quintiles and biquintiles are 5th harmonic aspects, septiles and triseptiles are 7th harmonic aspects, noviles are 9th harmonic aspects, deciles (semi-quintiles) and tredeciles are 10th harmonic aspects. The elftile series are 11th harmonic aspects, the quindecile is a 15th harmonic aspect, and the vigintile is a 20th harmonic aspect. Each of these has a unique function in the phase relationship of the two planets in aspect.

The 5th, 10th, 15th, and 20th harmonic aspects are specializing and bring forth partially or fully developed quintessential elements of the planets involved. The novile (9th harmonic), septile (7th harmonic) and elftile (11th harmonic) series all feature spiritual aspects. All novile series (9th harmonic) aspects represent entry or exit points of periods of gestation which can bring forth possible spiritual developments. These aspects indicate things which need to be put on the shelf for a while, or that which has been gestating can now move forward. They represent gestative energies that can lead to great spiritual realizations.

Septile series aspects represent forks in the road of destiny, where we make choices determining karmic future developments. This series is ruled by Saturn, where we create and fulfill karma by our choices during those phase shifts. The 11th harmonic elftile series aspects involve situations where there is a need to transcend and master some form of duality by making a leap of faith. In transcending those dualistic situations, dilemmas, challenges, and thinking, we resolve the problem and learn techniques of mastering those sorts of dualities in the future. This series tests our faith. Both the 7th and 11th series involve non-rational aspect values, bringing an element of irrationality in behavior and circumstances.

The various aspects in all these different harmonic series indicate points where the theme of the Whole Cycle becomes clear, whether through major developments or minor refinements in the process. Each aspect shows a phase relationship, specific to the special and unique circumstances of that particular Whole Cycle. It's how we can know when to work, when to play, when to create, when to imagine, when to have faith, and when to mobilize!

The Eclipse Factor

We’ve had a long run of eclipses which continue to affect us. In 2020 we had a Solstice Solar eclipse at 1 Cancer and a December Solar eclipse at 24 Sagittarius. In 2021 we had a June Solar eclipse at 20 Gemini and a December Solar eclipse at 13 Sagittarius. In 2022, we had an April Solar eclipse at 11 Taurus, a May Wesak Festival Lunar eclipse at 26 Scorpio, an October Solar eclipse at 2 Scorpio and a November Total Lunar eclipse at 17 Taurus.

In 2023, we had an April Solar eclipse at 30 Aries, a May Wesak Festival Lunar eclipse at 15 Taurus/Scorpio, an October Solar eclipse at 22 Libra, and an October Lunar eclipse at 6 Taurus/Scorpio. This year we just had an April Solar eclipse at 20 Aries, and this Wesak Festival Full Moon at 5 Taurus/Scorpio. As I explained in earlier articles, all the Lunar eclipses work over just a few months, while Solar eclipse effects last for years.

As you know, I see all eclipses as “cosmic recyclers” removing what we no longer need in the houses where they occurred. All these Solar eclipses, along with others, have allowed us to “shed skins” wherever we have 9, 19, and 30 Pisces, 28 Aquarius, 29 Leo, 10 Virgo, and 21 Virgo, as well as the degrees of the recent eclipses at 1 Cancer, 24 Sagittarius, 20 Gemini, 20 and 30 Aries, 22 Libra and 13 Sagittarius. As you can see, that involves a large part of our charts! You can find out which Solar eclipses are still showing effects by referring to Astrology in April 2024 - On The Threshold of a Total Solar Eclipse at 20 Aries which lists which eclipses are done and which are still in play (other parts which followed elaborate on the current eclipse.) That list also has links to the October 2022 Solar eclipse at 2 Scorpio, the April 2023 Solar eclipse at 30 Aries, and the October 2023 Solar eclipse at 22 Libra.

A good meditation would be to take a look back at how something related to those points in your chart ended after those eclipses, and examine how new events, new people, and new life experiences came in those chart areas. All our losses of the past few years associated with these signs have left voids which have attracted, are attracting, or will attract life contents more appropriate to who we are now. Alternately, you may be feeling a void because someone else really isn’t there. Now it’s time to turn to what will nourish you.

Element Balance

This Full Moon features a very imbalanced element distribution with an emphasis on Water and Earth. At this time, of the traditional 10 planets, there are 4 planets in Water signs, 2 in Fire, 3 in Earth, and 1 in Air. This makes Water (Feelings and Experiencing Life on Deep Levels) and Earth (Practicality and Grounding) preponderant, with some Fire (Inspiration and Light) and no Air (Relatedness and Communications) except for Pluto.

Air and Earth are “cool” elements, while Fire and Water are “hot” elements. With this distribution, it’s slightly hotter than cool and the emphasis on Water may create steam for power or fogs of confusion, depending on how we respond to the Pisces and Scorpio energies which dominate the current landscape.

The current sequence at present of Deciding, Feeling, and Thinking

We’ve been through several different sequences over the past few months. There are six patterns, and each has their strengths and weaknesses. This begins a new pattern. For now, as a process of moving through events, the most effective “firing sequence” for approaching life and experience over the next four weeks involves beginning activity with a thought, a vision, or an understanding, followed by taking the time to feel what’s happening.

What experience is your vision or understanding bringing you to? How do you feel about what you see and the information coming to you? Let your knowledge lead you to new hunches.

Then after time processing what the vision or understanding has led to, then make a decision and take a single step to move the process forward one step. Once we’ve made a decision and acted on it, then a new understanding or view will naturally arise showing the next thing to move toward and experience. So learn, communicate, research, and then feel the experience and the flow, since these will lead you to the next decision.

This pattern can seem too mental and evaluative, so be patient as the flow reveals itself. When this pattern is healthy it provides an objective and sensitive take on things. This is one of the two patterns which have the best “bedside manner,” and can be a good sounding board to bounce all kinds of things off of until everything’s been discussed and processed so that a clear decision can be made. This pattern offers us that the journey of a thousand miles is truly one step at a time.

Saturn: Spiritual Master, Spiritual Friend

While Saturn is temporarily relegated to a background influence, ruling only Pluto and being ruled by the chain of dispositors involving Venus, Mars, and Jupiter, it’s still a powerful teacher wherever we have mid-Pisces in our charts, and bringing important decisions to planets we have in the middle degrees of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces.

Saturn has led us through a major life renewal since June 2023, so continue to follow that renewed energy in the future even as many things again fall away in our Aries and Libra sectors. And as Saturn in Pisces brings structure to that energy, continue to open to the Grace which comes from forgiveness coupled with gratitude. Let go, let God, and let it flow down the timestream.

Saturn, our “spiritual teacher and spiritual friend” in Pisces brings an ocean of water to how we express our Capricorn and Aquarius sectors and any natal or progressed planets we have in those signs. Though Saturn can bring heavy life lessons, it is the part of us which can take charge of our lives and destiny by using Saturn’s virtues in the right way and time. Our ability to steer our “ship of personality” into our higher destiny brings us to the threshold of new parts to play on the stage of Life.

We’re still in a long wave period of saying goodbye to old roles and embracing newer more effective roles to play in the emergent Aquarian era. Uranus awakened us while Saturn has “lightened up” and structured our Aquarius sector. We continue to master navigating the fogs and illusions of Pisces, finding understanding, Divine Grace, and spiritual power in forgiveness and steering the process of closing out old ways as they present themselves.

Summing it Up

We now receive a powerful dose of Buddha Wisdom for the year, with themes of burying the past as we create something lasting and enduring. The rulers of the Light make it clear that we will all get huge quick doses of spiritual energy and will benefit to the degree we put forth effort, and in the process will find we need to purify some things within us so our Soul may shine forth clean and clear.

With so much Pisces, Aries, and Taurus, it’s safe to say that we’re in a huge time of transition out of the old collective mindset and seeing the sprouting of the seeds of the future Aquarian global energies. Keep cultivating compassion, keep letting the past flow down the time stream, and cultivate deeper communion with your spiritual Brothers and Sisters. Since January 1 we’ve begun movement into a new world, and been forced to give up lesser things as a greater life presented itself.

Because of the 2023 Solar eclipse in Libra, we’re seeing who or what needs nourishment and finding ways to offer it to them, or conversely, we may need to let those forms go in order to know new things to nourish. With each coming year, we’ll see definite movement away from the ideas which dominated the old 200 year Earth Era and see more of the emergent 200 year Air Era launched at the December 2020 Solstice.

This transitional period requires that we ask ourselves certain questions related to our spiritual purpose, fearless as we are One with the World Soul and walk through the world but are not “of” the world. We have been finding new inner strengths and powers the past four years, and learned the spiritual power of gratitude which brought assistance from Devas and Angels. We’re now in a time of getting over our preconceptions.

In recent years we found a “fellowship of spiritual Sisters and Brothers” on a “Spiritual Mountaintop.” Just remember that attaining the mountaintop only requires a) that we enjoy the view and accomplishment, and b) the awareness of when to begin the careful descent, since we don’t want to get caught on a mountaintop when lighting clouds are blowing in!

Forgiving much with compassion for the generic human condition, we are being released from all which doesn’t serve our momentum into our greater purpose. This is the heart of a global acceleration in transforming those who are part of a greater service and group work. Embrace a new identity, a new love, a new spiritual awareness, and a new spiritual expression in grounded ways, so keep your mind and heart open and keep coordinating your body, feelings, and mind to demonstrate a stable and harmonized Soul energy. That's a great part to play as we dance through life's changes!

A Meditation on Light and Shadow

Because life seems to be a never-ending experience of out-breathing elements of the past and in-breathing elements of the new, it is useful to remember that when we are moving through major changes, and something new is introduced into our lives, it means that something else must leave, or has already left, to provide space for the new to be embraced. And lesser wisdom must give way to greater wisdom, and old forms give way to newer realities. As I’ve offered before “enlightenment” is a verb more than it is a noun.

While sometimes having to say goodbye to older, lesser ways of life can be a drag, it is important to remember that even though life can occasionally be painful, we do not have to suffer. And as we learn to break the link between pain and suffering, we heal our part of humanity and the world.

We are Light. All things are composed of Light in various frequencies that express as limitless forms. Some light frequencies are of greater density than others.

All shadows result from light hitting a dense object. Psychological shadows too. Therefore, it’s good to become as translucent and translucid as possible to dispel lurking shadows.

If you must look at and/or deal with shadows, whether your own or another’s, then refocus your Light on the object being illuminated, since that form is the source of the shadow.

Find the correct 4 angles of illuminating whatever you want to focus on, and all shadows will be dispelled. Then you’re seeing things with an illuminated mind, and can act accordingly.
