Aspects, Evolutionary Configurations, and More.

This Full Moon brings a view of core issues and material, with opportunities to make decisions that need to be made.

Concentrate and use self-discipline to move through the tension created by Sun opposed Pluto, easing your way via the Neptunian intuition and “non-local knowing” available at this time. Last month we prepared to “escape from a narrow destiny” by seeing a vast view of the evolutionary process in our lives and others; this is the next step in that process.

This Full Moon fulfills the Cancer New Moon themes, which means we’ve been finding ways to “ground the spiritual in matter.” We are still stabilizing a flow in a new direction in our lives, and now can have some fun while exploring the new things which open as we “put on the show” to our audience.

This is an intensely specializing period with relatively little friction. Original thinking is favored as long as it’s not eccentric or a splash in the pan. Something may require an additional commitment to an ideal. Last month we set something into motion which will explode into a new understanding in mid-August.

Evolutionary Configurations

This month we have three evolutionary configurations, one involving the Lunation and both involving Mars. This is the third inner planet opposition to Pluto this year. This month the configurations are:

1) The Moon conjunct Pluto is opposed by the Sun, trine Mars, and sextile Neptune, creating a “four note chord” of three sextiles and two trines harmonizing the tensional awareness of the opposition. These are creating favorable voids across late Virgo and early Libra and late Scorpio and early Sagittarius. This will be very productive for planets and points we have in the last 3 degrees degrees of the Earth and Water signs and the first 3 degrees of the Air and Fire signs. Mars trine Pluto and Sun trine Neptune are both exact, bringing focus to 1 Libra and 30 Scorpio. Plus Mars is activating the Jupiter trine Pluto of early June, so discoveries are on the way!

2) Venus is quintile Mars and biquintile Saturn with Mars quintile Saturn. This creates three points of the “5 Pointed Star of Quintessential Specialization,” promising unique gifts and blessings to all who have a planet or point in any of the 5 active “hot zones” around 17-21 Pisces, 29 Taurus to 3 Gemini, 11-15 Leo, 23-27 Libra, and 5-9 Capricorn. If you’re impacted, do your unique thing in your unique way and let your special gifts come forth!

3) We have Moon triseptile Mercury and septile Saturn and Mercury triseptile both Saturn and Pluto. (It’s less than ideal since Saturn is semisquare Pluto and not septile.) Still, the Moon septile Saturn with both triseptile Mercury creates a 7th harmonic “Kite” pattern with Mercury as the nozzle. This combination of planets are weaving a major turning point wherever they fall in our chart.

The Moon is closing in on accepting the power which began to build in 2020, which should bring a harvest for the responsibilities we took on then. This Moon triseptile Mercury and septile Saturn opens up a zone of activity which is expanded and brought into serious focus by the Mercury triseptile Pluto. Mercury triseptile Pluto encourages cooperative thinking which is focused on the tasks to be done in the “dawning of a new day.”

Pluto occupies the degree of the Grand Mutation, furthering the seeds of the next Era. Be future oriented, see the seeds that have developed since 2020, and be willing to get on stage if you need to. This is a wide span, so many of you are affected. Areas most active include 28 Capricorn-3 Aquarius, 19-24 Pisces, 11-16 Taurus, 2-7 Cancer, 24-29 Leo, 15-20 Libra, and 7-12 Sagittarius. Expect important shifts coming these next two weeks!

Major Aspects

Besides the various aspects I gave you related to the evolutionary configurations, forming (or partile separating) inner planet aspects include the Moon sesquisquare Jupiter; Mercury is square Mars (out of sign; OOS), quintile Jupiter, and square Uranus; Venus is sextile Jupiter, and sesquisquare Neptune; and the Sun is semisquare Jupiter and quadrelftile Saturn.

Outer planet aspects include Mars conjunct Jupiter and sextile Neptune; Jupiter is square Saturn, quintile Neptune, and quadrelftile Pluto; Saturn is quintile Uranus and semisquare Pluto; and Uranus approaches its sextile with Neptune and Neptune is in the closest sextile with Pluto in 30 years!

Friction comes from 2 semisquares, 2 squares, and 2 sesquisquares. Semisquares are internal friction at the beginning or end of a cycle, and to me represent the irritating metaphoric “grain of sand” in the oyster of our lives which creates a pearl or awareness.

The squares are integrative, while sesquisquares are interactive, annoying and/or agitating, but not necessarily crisis producing. Decrease aggravation when a frictional aspect is in play. However, Uranus will release what Mercury builds, and Mercury will release what Uranus builds.

This month’s aspects: In the series related to destiny and “fate,” we find 1 septile and 2 triseptiles. In the 9th harmonic series related to spiritual realizations, we have the rare event of no aspects in that series. In the 11th harmonic series related to spiritual realizations, we have 2 quadrelfiles. The specializing aspect series provides us with 5 quintiles and 1 biquintile.

For those new to the craft, quintiles and biquintiles are 5th harmonic aspects, septiles and triseptiles are 7th harmonic aspects, noviles are 9th harmonic aspects, deciles (semi-quintiles) and tredeciles are 10th harmonic aspects. The elftile series are 11th harmonic aspects, the quindecile is a 15th harmonic aspect, and the vigintile is a 20th harmonic aspect. Each of these has a unique function in the phase relationship of the two planets in aspect.

The 5th, 10th, 15th, and 20th harmonic aspects are specializing and bring forth partially or fully developed quintessential elements of the planets involved. The novile (9th harmonic), septile (7th harmonic) and elftile (11th harmonic) series all feature spiritual aspects. All novile series (9th harmonic) aspects represent entry or exit points of periods of gestation which can bring forth possible spiritual developments. These aspects indicate things which need to be put on the shelf for a while, or that which has been gestating can now move forward. They represent gestative energies that can lead to great spiritual realizations.

Septile series aspects represent forks in the road of destiny, where we make choices determining karmic future developments. This series is ruled by Saturn, where we create and fulfill karma by our choices during those phase shifts. The 11th harmonic elftile series aspects involve situations where there is a need to transcend and master some form of duality by making a leap of faith. In transcending those dualistic situations, dilemmas, challenges, and thinking, we resolve the problem and learn techniques of mastering those sorts of dualities in the future. This series tests our faith. Both the 7th and 11th series involve non-rational aspect values, bringing an element of irrationality in behavior and circumstances.

The various aspects in all these different harmonic series indicate points where the theme of the Whole Cycle becomes clear, whether through major developments or minor refinements in the process. Each aspect shows a phase relationship, specific to the special and unique circumstances of that particular Whole Cycle. It's how we can know when to work, when to play, when to create, when to imagine, when to have faith, and when to mobilize!

The Eclipse Factor

We’ve had a long run of eclipses which continue to affect us. In 2020 we had a Solstice Solar eclipse at 1 Cancer and a December Solar eclipse at 24 Sagittarius. In 2021 we had a June Solar eclipse at 20 Gemini and a December Solar eclipse at 13 Sagittarius. In 2022, we had an April Solar eclipse at 11 Taurus, a May Wesak Festival Lunar eclipse at 26 Scorpio, an October Solar eclipse at 2 Scorpio and a November Total Lunar eclipse at 17 Taurus.

In 2023, we had an April Solar eclipse at 30 Aries, a May Wesak Festival Lunar eclipse at 15 Taurus/Scorpio, an October Solar eclipse at 22 Libra, and an October Lunar eclipse at 6 Taurus/Scorpio. This year we just had an April Solar eclipse at 20 Aries, and this Wesak Festival Full Moon at 5 Taurus/Scorpio. As I explained in earlier articles, all the Lunar eclipses work over just a few months, while Solar eclipse effects last for years.

As you know, I see all eclipses as “cosmic recyclers” removing what we no longer need in the houses where they occurred. All these Solar eclipses, along with others, have allowed us to “shed skins” wherever we have 9, 19, and 30 Pisces, 28 Aquarius, 29 Leo, 10 Virgo, and 21 Virgo, as well as the degrees of the recent eclipses at 1 Cancer, 24 Sagittarius, 20 Gemini, 20 and 30 Aries, 22 Libra and 13 Sagittarius. As you can see, that involves a large part of our charts! You can find out which Solar eclipses are still showing effects by referring to Astrology in April 2024 - On The Threshold of a Total Solar Eclipse at 20 Aries which lists which eclipses are done and which are still in play (other parts which followed elaborate on the current eclipse.) That list also has links to the October 2022 Solar eclipse at 2 Scorpio, the April 2023 Solar eclipse at 30 Aries, and the October 2023 Solar eclipse at 22 Libra.

A good meditation would be to take a look back at how something related to those points in your chart ended after those eclipses, and examine how new events, new people, and new life experiences came in those chart areas. All our losses of the past few years associated with these signs have left voids which have attracted, are attracting, or will attract life contents more appropriate to who we are now. Alternately, you may be feeling a void because someone else really isn’t there. Now it’s time to turn to what will nourish you.

Element Balance

This Full Moon features a fairly balanced element distribution. At this time, of the traditional 10 planets, there are 3 planets in Water signs, 2 in Fire, 2 in Earth, and 3 in Air. This makes Water (Feelings and Experiencing Life on Deep Levels) and Air (Relatedness and Communications) slightly preponderant with a balance between the slightly less active Earth (Practicality and Grounding) and Fire (Inspiration and Light).

Air and Earth are “cool” elements, while Fire and Water are “hot” elements. With this distribution, it’s perfectly balanced, so if we know how to flow and move with the ideas streaming in, we should be able to find inspiration and grounding despite the movement and get a lot done if we find the right balance.

The current sequence at present of Deciding, Feeling, and Thinking

We’ve been through several different sequences over the past few months. There are six patterns, and each has their strengths and weaknesses. This begins a new pattern. For now, as a process of moving through events, the most effective “firing sequence” for approaching life and experience over the next 2 weeks involves beginning activity with a decision, and following that with feeling or experiencing what follows. After you feel what you need to feel, move into new ideas, a new vision, new understanding, or a communication so that you come to a new way of viewing what’s going on.

So lead with confidence in your decisions and actions after a significant vision or a new understanding. Then reference your feelings and experience about those decisions and actions. After feeling what we’ve done, we then need to update our perceptual files and get a new view or understanding so we have a new way of interpreting how our actions lead us to a feeling-experience. This pattern learns and teaches best through anecdote.

So get it in gear, and then go to your feelings and check in about how you’re experiencing those decisions and actions, after which find a new view, a new understanding, new information, and new interactions that can help you see clearly what must be done and how. Then do it, and again feel what you must on the basis of that decision. Periods of solitude may be required after a critical decision or action. After that direct experience of feelings the results of your decision and action, then find the information from which a new understanding or vision will arise.

Saturn: Spiritual Master, Spiritual Friend

Because of the Solstice and Full Moon charts, Saturn is a major player in the near future as the entire Summer due to being a part of the Octile configuration beginning to form with Jupiter’s waxing square to Saturn. Saturn is bringing us nourishment, as well as powerful Piscean lessons wherever we have mid-Pisces in our charts, and important decisions to planets we have in the middle degrees of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces.

Saturn has led us through a major life renewal since June 2023, so continue to follow that compassionate understanding because we must release all we cannot take into the Saturn in Aries phase beginning next year. Saturn brings maturity and structure to Pisces, and so is teaching us to open to the Grace which comes from forgiveness coupled with gratitude. Let go, let God, and let it flow down the timestream.

Saturn, our “spiritual teacher and spiritual friend” in Pisces brings an ocean of water to our Capricorn/Aquarius sectors and any natal or progressed planets we have in those signs. Though Saturn can accompany heavy lessons, it is the part of us which can take charge of our lives and destiny by using Saturn’s virtues in the right way and time. Our ability to steer our “ship of personality” into our higher destiny brings us new parts to play on the stage of Life.

We’re still in a long wave period of saying goodbye to old roles and embracing newer more effective roles to play in the emergent Aquarian era. We continue to master navigating the fogs and illusions of Pisces, finding understanding, Divine Grace, and spiritual power in forgiveness and steering the process of closing out old ways as they present themselves.

Summing it Up

We have already turned a significant corner and can “know the flow” toward whatever promises us security. We’re integrating, getting a broader view, and are moving into the greater “consecration” resulting from the renewal we’ve been through since the Summer of 2023. The next two weeks prepares us for movement into something bigger.

We’re definitely in the Jupiter in Gemini era, so open to learning new things, seeing new things, understanding from new angles, and pursuing the power to sense that which nourishes but isn’t apparent. As noted, one of the qualities of this Full Moon is to know what grounds us and allows us to make crucial decisions. If called on stage, go for it! This is the beginning of a whole new phase of discovery.

With so much Pisces, Gemini, and Leo, we’re moving out of an old collective mindset as the seeds of the future Aquarian global energies sprout. With Saturn and Neptune in Pisces keep cultivating compassion while letting the past flow down the time stream. Keep deepening your connection with your spiritual Brothers and Sisters. Since January 1 we’ve begun movement into a new world, and been forced to give up lesser things as a greater life presented itself.

Because of the 2023 Solar eclipse in Libra, we’re seeing who or what needs nourishment and finding ways to offer it to them, or conversely, we may need to let those forms go in order to know new things to nourish. With each coming year, we’ll see definite movement away from the ideas which dominated the old 200 year Earth Era and see more of the emergent 200 year Air Era launched at the December 2020 Solstice.

This transitional period requires that we ask ourselves certain questions related to our spiritual purpose, fearless as we are One with the World Soul and walk through the world but are not “of” the world. We have been finding new inner strengths and powers the past four years, and learned the spiritual power of gratitude which brought assistance from Devas and Angels. We’re now in a time of getting over our preconceptions.

Forgiving much with compassion for the generic human condition, we are being released from all which doesn’t serve our momentum into our greater purpose. This is the heart of a global acceleration in transforming those who are part of a greater service and group work. Embrace a new identity, a new love, a new spiritual awareness, and a new spiritual expression in grounded ways, so keep your mind and heart open and keep coordinating your body, feelings, and mind to demonstrate a stable and harmonized Soul energy. That's a great part to play as we dance through life's changes!

A Meditation on Light and Shadow

Because life seems to be a never-ending experience of out-breathing elements of the past and in-breathing elements of the new, it is useful to remember that when we are moving through major changes, and something new is introduced into our lives, it means that something else must leave, or has already left, to provide space for the new to be embraced. And lesser wisdom must give way to greater wisdom, and old forms give way to newer realities. As I’ve offered before “enlightenment” is a verb more than it is a noun.

While sometimes having to say goodbye to older, lesser ways of life can be a drag, it is important to remember that even though life can occasionally be painful, we do not have to suffer. And as we learn to break the link between pain and suffering, we heal our part of humanity and the world.

For your contemplation, a final meditation I offer each month at the end of our Full Moon journey of exploration.

We are Light. All things are composed of Light in various frequencies that express as limitless forms. Some light frequencies are of greater density than others.

All shadows result from light hitting a dense object. Psychological shadows too. Therefore, it’s good to become as translucent and translucid as possible to dispel lurking shadows.

If you must look at and/or deal with shadows, whether your own or another’s, then refocus your Light on the object being illuminated, since that form is the source of the shadow.

Find the correct 4 angles of illuminating whatever you want to focus on, and all shadows will be dispelled. Then you’re seeing things with an illuminated mind, and can act accordingly.
